I like Chakras. Right now I don't know if there are Chakras in any FF game but I love them. Or maybe a Fan? I don't know. :)
I like the idea of fans could be used for a dancer healer
I wanted the gun-based chemist healer....i still do :). Magic healing guns :)

Healing guns are overrated. You just need a rocket launcher that shoots glass bottles filled with potion.
On to topic though. I would personally like something big and very ornamented to show on my healer. Maybe a neon sign that screams healer so people stop running away from me in pvp.
I wouldn't say no to a chemist class, mixing poisons for dots, potions for healing, reviving or regen effects. I'd say Fans or Chakrams but I see those being more for a dancer, which at the moment I kinda see leaning more into DPS territory than healer.
I would love a Scythe weapon maybe if they ever bring the necromancer class from the final fantasy universe, a class that can drain health and transfer that health to a nearby party member would be nice
I love the idea of a fan, but then again I love the idea of an asian-themed expansion/update so I might be biased. ;)
a butt staff would be cool
we don't need weapons, all our power comes from inside us. Kaaameeeehaaameeeehaaa ! Curaga !
I would like some magical gems/stones floating around and spinning beautifully when you cast a spell
(Just like Nu Wa's magical gems from SMITE)
Or maybe a Big scroll with some weird symbols and drawings in it.
Uh not really lol.
Chakram, Chakri (smaller variation), Chakkar, Cakeram, and Chalikar are all names for it, Chakra is a type of energy.
If we're talking specifically about the weapon, it's Chakram. If you're translating Sanskrit then yes Chakra would work but all it really means is "wheel"
Nothing like throwing glass bottles at people to heal them lmao. I would think the Chemist's weapon would be a 'vial" containing the Philosopher's Stone. This will allow the Chemist to mix potions during battle to change its effects, and potency. I think it would work from a lore perspective as well.
Dancer might be a good job for the next healing position. Using silks weaved with aether to encourage and bolster the party through healing dances and fancy moves. It would also make the healer look more active instead of just standing there like a statue.
A whip, like rydia and quistis I also like the idea of chakrams or darts or bombs. The problem with healer weapons though is that it's kind of a waste unless they get some weaponskills which probably won't happen cause it'll open up the skill speed/spell speed issue PLDs and DRKs are facing. So if they give them a weapon that seems like an actual damaging weapon it'll be disappointing to see it as nothing but auto attacks (which it won't even do most of the time unless it's a ranged weapon as mages are ranged).
This doesn't really make sense to me, to be honest. All jobs, not just healers, are either locked to weaponskills or magic and have limited interaction/weapon action to that effect; in fact, Astrologian may be the job that has the MOST interaction with their weapon in regards to Draw and Lightspeed. Unless you mean animations, which are not locked to the weapon but the job...?
Back to topic, I always thought measures would be a good healer weapon to add in. Granted, they've only appeared in one game so far (FFXII), but star globes were a new weapon class to appear in XIV, so...who knows.
Am very interested in measures a mathemetician would be great lore wise it fits due to arcanist using geometric shapes with geometry being a form of mathematics. Vials would be great I don't remember what game I was playing but there was a healer that was trowing vials and walked around with old medicine bag and had that doctors mask with the long beak was really koo could be a tp healer. Bombs would be great having al, weapon skills having splash damage I think it was GW2 but healers with bombs was a thing
Hmmm hammers maybe? great hammers.... aoe heal by hitting the ground... healing by hitting people over the head with it... And it should be inverse size to your character so a lala would have something insane while a roe would have something like a drum stick ;)
Seriously though... fans or maybe something with music would be nice to have.
the gems could be a nice look; scroll too actually (though when I think scroll magic my brain instantly thinks Sanzo from Saiyuki ;p which then, probably would look ridiculous.) Fan dancer as a healer could be a beautiful aesthetic Job, but then we get into the Healers who heal through damage thing... Which I love (one of the mages from RIFT, BloodMage, Mistwalker Monk from WOW [low levels] etc) but would be too much of added dps and make therefore ... Required Raid Position for the dps checks :(
Dolls like in Final Fantasy X would be a lot of fun for the different possible glamour's.

Advance Job: Psychic (Starts at level 30)
-Role: Healer
-Weapon: Dolls
-Concept: “Fight/Heals using Telekinesis, Teleportation and other psychic abilities. they are a true DPS healer using their skills for recovery purposes. (They are the opposite of the Astrologian they focus on healing by dealing damage, and debuffing their enemies.
Concept Skills:
1.) Telekinesis I & II: Does damage to enemy, or recovers the friendly target HP. (Can be used on friend or foe)
2.) Reflect/Reflect II: Redirects one/two magical spell.
3.) Brainstorm: Inflicts confusion on the enemy causing them to attack your targets for a short duration.
4.) Water I, II, III: Deals water damage to the target. Recovers a percentage of X HP to the member with the lowest HP.
5.) Teleport: Teleports to a chosen location on the map.
6.) Tractor: Teleports ally to your location.
7.) Power Break: Reduces enemy physical attack power.
8.) Magic Break: Reduces enemy magic attack power.
9.) Armor Break: Reduces enemy physical defenses.
10.) Mental Break: Reduces enemy magical defenses.
I noticed a number of people are mentioning weapon ideas which are technically already in the game, but are actually used by Disciples of the Hand and Land as tools not weapons (scythes are used by BTN, as they're meant to be, hammers are used by BSM).
And I don't see a Chemist type healing class being added simply because we already technically have Chemist in the game, albeit not a healer, Alchemist (ALC), as a Disciple of the Hand, and not only would the name be confusing to determine which is which, a healer that uses items to heal would probably just be too difficult to work with (for one thing, it would suddenly create a demand for healing items and the materials needed to synthesize them, causing a massive upheaval in the economy, which is why such a job was never implemented in FFXI either).
I'm all for more healers though (and new weapon ideas for classes), but a little common sense is needed first.
Whips would be really nice. Quistis reloaded!
What you are describing are the very base.A tiny scyth and a battle scythe are different.
Same with hammers.
The alchemy part is right to a sense.
But, common sense (you have it right?) would tell you that given how this game is, chemist wouldnt use physical items but instead have an infinite supply of "items" that is made plausible by some lore reason or w/e.
Mch doesnt have ammunition afterall.
Puppets, Gems and fans (dancer) are very nice ideas. Personally I'd love the puppets one!
Lore-wise a healer weapon is primarily used to channel our healing skills but there could be exceptions like an exorcist-type of healer that usually has to face voidsents, demons and so on. I can see it wielding a very cool schyte! It could even sports a more masculine general look, not that I mind our more ethereal healers, quite the opposite, but to add some diversity is nice.
I can picture its relic looking like a big bladed cross already.
med kit. 10char
Think you missed my point, I'm not talking interaction with the weapon I'm talking use as a weapon. I'll clarify, people are suggesting scythe as a Mage weapon. Would you really want to see a scythe get used for nothing but auto attacks? Do you think it makes sense that a scythe would do as much damage as a book when it hits someone? because if a scythe goes to a Mage that's how it will end up, it will just be a glorified staff that will never see action as the Mage will be at range anyway. It might get some cool animations sure, but it won't be for attacks, it'll be for channeling magic or using abilities or whatever.
I would like to see this, Deuce from FF Type 0 using her flute.

I really like the idea of Dancer being a healer that uses fans as its weapon. I envision the fans to have blades extend when in combat (such as their Cleric Stance) and then retract when the Dancer switches to their healing mode. Would be really neat to see it released alongside a Samurai tank/DPS in a Doma-focused expansion.
A sound instrument-based healer would work. As someone pointed out, Eiko from IX used a flute, so the idea has been implemented before at least. My concern though would be on said future healer's playstyle in general to differentiate from what's current, but that's for another topic.
Throwing potion like Chemist
ok seriously
i like the idea of Dancer especially if i can equip a whip, just feel would be abit weird to see male dancer that will heal

If dancer is not possible, i would love to see Time mage with some sort of aether energy focus
I like the idea of a kind of spell sword type class with maybe some kind of focus in their offhand? Like a crystal ball and a rapier? I dont know. Itd open up possibilities for red mage.
I would love to see a healer playing the flute like Eiko in FF9, or maybe why not, a doll!
Like Lulu in FFX also if she wasn't a white mage!
