Need help monitoring Enochian duration

Sometimes it’s tricky for me to instantly see how many seconds I have left of Enochian because I’m hunting for the Enochian icon on the status effects bar. (Sometimes it gets really cluttered, and the icon gets shuffled all over the place.) Is there a clearer way to see how many seconds I have left? A way to put a countdown timer on screen somewhere?

I’ve tried placing Enochian on a Hotbar, and using the /recast “Enochian” command in a macro, but both just tell me when I can recast it, not how many seconds I have left of it.

That's where user addons would come in handy.
Too bad SE don't support it :/

All I could recommend is learning the Enochian icon, grabbing your HUD and making the Parameter Bar as big as possible then placing it right beside your character or wherever you are mainly looking at.

Also in the Character Configuration, there is an option to make it so the Benefical effects and Status Ailments aren't so separated so they are easer to read.

You might have more luck if you place your status bar closer to your hotbars/HP/MP than the default top of the screen.

It would be nice if you could, for example, make specific buffs display larger icons so it was immediately apparent. Currently the best you can do is memorize the look of the icon and place your status bar where you're most likely to see it conveniently. It took me a little while to sort out exactly which buff to glance at, though it less chaotic fights you'll know when to refresh it because you've reached that point in your rotation.

There's an addon called MPTimer which includes an enochian timer. You can move it wherever you want on your screen.

Thanks Arkenne and Sleigh. I set the status effects to max resolution and moved it to just above my Cross Hotbar. It helps, but the icons still get shuffled around.

Yes. I'd really like to be able to put buffs into a Hotbar, for example: Enochian, AF/UI, LL and a few others. This way they would always be in the same place on the screen, we could quickly see the seconds remaining on all of our buffs, and make adjustments to our rotation accordingly.

Malevicton, I'm on PS4 so I'm limited by what a PS4 can do, but maybe others will benefit from your advice.

When I get home tonight, I'll take a picture of my UI setup on PS4 and share it with you. I have things positioned to give me a clear view of my crossbar abilities, buff timers, and enemy debuff timers. If it works for SMN, it'll definitely work for BLM.

This is my UI. Everything I need to see is right around the crossbar, and I have abilities sitting over to the right so I can see what's not on cooldown. I hit them in their appropriate location in expanded crossbar (L2+R2, etc), but I want them visible on the side so I know when they pop back up for use.

My buffs and debuffs are above the health bar with the enemy buffs and debuffs directly below it. I don't really have to gaze far to see anything relevant to DPSing, and my eyes never have to leave looking where I'm standing so I'm not missing attacks directed at me. I also use a macro to turn off the display of all my active quests while in a duty. That just takes up space on the screen which I don't need to see in a trial or dungeon. The less distracting me from what I actually need to see, the better.

I do that too. For anyone that's interested it's a very simple macro.

Name: Duty List (or whatever you want to call it)
/hud DutyList

It will toggle the display of the Duty List on or off.

No problem. Another thing I did in 2.x when I was done leveling was disable the exp bar (no need for it!), and one of the best things I did was turn off ability names displaying when holding down the triggers to use abilities. Those names would overlap the debuff icons, and I didn't need to see what abilities are named anyway because at this point we should all be familiar with what our buttons do. I've just in general have tried to remove as much clutter and unnecessary things from my display as possible.
