Hey guys.. I ve been wonddering has phoenix lost people lately? I m noticing the activity is kindda low compared to odin or ragnarok for example andd phoenix was always an active server!
I could be wrong its cause I mainly notice this during the morning but I have a few days to see a small queue as well like I used to.

We have been losing quite a lot of people to Odin and Ragnarok lately. 3 of my friends just transferred in the past week, and also noticed at least 2 others buy out the marketboard and xferred off in the last 4 days.
While one may argue, "that's just 5 people", there are probably more of them, and they are all part of the raiding community. -

A3S is breaking statics up because they... I dunno, probably start biting at each other from wipes? They then transfer to Odin in hopes of finding groups that are either on their level or can carry them :). It's all Pepsiman's fault. Still though, Phoenix seems as busy as ever to me

Also Since Phoenix is a EU Server it has it's fair share of AUS, US, NA servers and with the the new EU data centre it'd be better for them to move to a more closer server.

In general the raiding community on Phoenix is in very sharp decline, this has been evident even before the expansion was launched and since then it's only been getting worse due to demanding fights such as Living Liquid breaking up statics with increasing frequency, causing progression driven players to leave Phoenix in search of greener pastures.
Put to point, you can ask any raiding Free Company leader or static leader on this server and I'm very sure they could tell you in great detail how difficult it is to find competent players to fill spots in progression groups on Phoenix. -

Multitude of factors imo:
- in the past there is no loot to savage, so only the like-minded people who truly wanted the challenge will go for savage mode. In HW, if you want the best loot, or raids that doesn't make you snore, you are left with savage. Imo on phoenix there are more savage grps than experienced raiders.
- There is nothing to do in this game outside of raids, so less people playing = less raiders. Even if you are interested in raiding, if your friends are quitting/taking a break/moving servers, you will feel more and more compelled to do the same. How long can you endure before you give up looking for a competent 8th member? Hell, there just isn't fun content in game. No, 3.1 will not fix this with 2 new dungeons (lol?) and a 24 man raid where people point fingers at how sucky each other are while being afk all fight long. Also, leveling an alt is just painfully boring these days while AF2 gear forbid people from gearing their alts effectively.
- There is a pretty big execution gap between each floor. A1S is super easy, A2S is super easy, then A3S suddenly places a proper dps check on the individual basis while you wipe once a while due to server not registering positions properly+bad rng.
- Due to a shrinking general population, raiders like to converge on unofficial raiding servers for new opportunities. Things are not necessary easier, since you still have to struggle with weeding out "the bads", and everyone thinks they are A4S worthy cuz they did 1200 dps on a dummy.
These days the game feel more like a chat room than an RPG. I end up just chatting all day with ppl outside of raids, post stuff on the MB for giggles, pvp once a while, raid when everyone show up with a good internet connect.
Today I logged in at 8pm svr prime time and had no queue. GG.
I beg the question: "What selling point does Phoenix have?" -
10-02-2015, 07:46 PMSaneIn the environment of hardcore progression, ever since Exordium disbanded a few weeks after the launch of Final Coil the overall 'bar' for progression on Phoenix has been drastically lowered and at no point has any Free Company stepped up to take back that very same mantle and as a result, the 'quality' of raiding on Phoenix as a whole has suffered, as there is no incentive for players to come here for progression reasons. Ultimately individuals who hold progression as their sole focus will always drift towards servers that contains the majority of the likeminded players, which causes the competent raid capable individuals to who lose their statics to act in this very same manner.Quote:

Phoenix is shit. People say that static breaks are fault for not clearing A3S, A4S. That's not true, you have teams that are constantly going at it and still can't clear it? What do you think? It's been far too long and Phoenix still hasn't finished Savage.

Those teams that were doing it all the time for world first had lower dps and were figuring out ways how to maximize dps for certain parts and did far more testing that you'll ever do with your gear. -

I agree with the post earlier, that there is nothing to do outside raids. Me on most of my group just log on for savage. It is also true that it is very difficult to find a competent replacement here, but to be honest, good players are usually in statics, they don't wait for an opportunity to be someone's replacement. We need to progress on A4, because 1 member is leaving for 2 weeks, and it can happen that we won't raid until he comes back, which is awful, but what can you do ^^. We are a slow server on progression, but it is worth noting that all the world firsts, second, thirds were achieved by Japanese or players from USA, like ellysium for example, they on 'EU' server but they are all from America, so their latency is 10-15 compared to our 100-200.

I think we are progressing as we should, maybe a little bit behind to what we should, but this lag is not suitable for proper raiding, and is probably the main reason people and statics broke up on a3, cause u think u are swapping the debuff, but u are in 1 place on your screen, when the other person sees u where u were 2-3 second ago. If we had Japanese or American statics, they would've cleared A4 a while ago and if we didn't have 100+ms we would've done the same.

100ms ping isn't a life ending latency compared to ~25 ish. It is not going to magically fix everyone's dps. Digititus "not passing" (because you are slow) and having hallowed ground go on CD while you die on the cast animation will still happen. The reality is... it is a skill issue.

I dunno how off I am when i say around 50% of the statics have had to look for replacements for their groups. And when taking into account the average skill level of Phoenix, finding someone who can contribute aint that easy.
I wouldnt even play anymore if it werent out of obligation for my static. We had to go trough pugging A1S&A2S kills because tanks had terrible work schedules. After that we had to replace a bad BLM, which took time and we got a new SCH as a replacement so our old SCH changed to SMN. Then our new SCH quit for 2-3 weeks. Shit like this doesnt really motivate you to keep banging your head into a wall called A3S.
And lets not even talk about sometimes unbearable latency, bosses that are 99% the same as in Alex NM but just more unforgiving, bland story etc etc.. -
