What is the point of the large scale leves?

They don't properly scale with rewards when compared to a single leve.

I just looked at the reward for a lvl 50 large scale battle leve and it said I would get 70k xp while a single one would reward 20k xp.

Even if it's a better timespent ratio If I have a ton of leves I will still not waste my time with these. They need to scale a lot better if it's going to cost 10 leves.

Get to lv51 and you get more exp

It still doesn't scale right. And thats irrelevent because I always do my leves at a +1 or higher difficulty.

I wish for the 10 allowance leves the devs would use special leves, like the faction leves during 1.x
Not just exactly the same as the normal with just more enemies.

If you're feeling lazy and want to blow a bunch of allownaces quickly (albeit inefficiently) then large scale leves are for you.

Not everyone wants to teleport back and forth or care much about the speed they're leveling at.

That just wasting the allowed leve. I still prefer using 1 leve than 10 leve

Wait so exp wise it isn't worth doing?

Get a friend to carry you through 10 of the higher level ones while you're 50 or 51 and you pretty much skip a lvl in a matter of minutes.

Because people like me are lazy and would rather do say 5 Temple Leves instead of 50 regular Leves.

Honestly I have looked and (at least for crafting) I was better off turning in 3 normal vs the 1 costing 10. Though I guess if your tight on time to play the 10 is a better deal in time saving... but I really think they need to either boost the exp or lower the cost to 5.

Imagine if they gave the same or more exp than doing small leves, then the small ones would be obsolete. So they need to give a lot less, because it takes much less time to do 1 large leve than 10 small ones. If you are somebody who doesn't have much time for leves and would otherwise be wasting them with your allowance frequently capping at 100, then the large leves are a great way to burn them with a better exp per time ratio.

There aren't meant to scale exactly, they are meant to give those who don't have a lot of time an option to use more leve charges.

So say yes 10 charges=3 leves in that sense, but that 1 "large leve" takes the same amount of time as a regular leve. So say you don't get a lot of time to do leves and you end up with 100 charges more often then not. That's who the "large scale" leves are for.

Leve's for battle classes in general are broken. They give less exp than FATEs

But there aren't always FATE parties going on. Not to mention a temple leve gives as much XP as VD.

nope. They are used for people who just wants to get rid of allowance but don't have the time to do the small single leves.
if you want the exp, using single leves is better by a long shot.

I'm not saying they're good.
I'm saying they're better than the 10 allowance ones.
other sources of exp are so much better.
I only do leves for the Challenge Log anyway :p

You actually end up getting a little over 100k, more so around the 120kish once you turn in, from the bonus and stuff. Plus you know, 5 large leves > 50 regular leves lol

As others have said, the big advantage is that you don't have to spend all that time doing 100 leves. The regular leves are more efficient if time isn't a factor, but it takes 4-5 leves to match up to a large leve for exp. If you're really gonna do 100 leves, then you'll get more exp from the small ones.

That said, you get about 100k from the lvl 58 leves (a bit more than that, but w/e). Doing 10 real quick nets you a bit over 1 mil exp. Grab a friend to help clear em. It's Just over a mil exp to get from 51 to 52. It's about 800k to get from 50-51. With 100 allowances and a negligible amount of time you can basically skip one of these levels.

I've been using them to get quickly from 50 to 51 so I can go straight into the hw dungeons.

Now the point of the large crafting/gathering leves? I have no idea.

The large-scale crafting leves are a great source of massive amounts of mats, as the repeatables can be turned in 6 times. It's very cost-effective for certain mats if you choose your leves wisely.

Otherwise yes, it's a time vs. caring factor. At best a L leve will only give 60% of the xp of 10 equivalent normal leves, but in like 20% of the time of the latter.

The large leves are only good if the leve allowances are on cap and you can't do 6 leves each day to lower the allowances enough for a full recharge.

Large leves for battle classes give you more XP/hour than dungeons at the same level, if you can get all the bonuses.

If you are doing normal leves on battle classes for exp you are doing it wrong.

The big leves gives you the exp of 5 normal leves, even tho it takes 10 leve allowances.
At least they are done and over with 3 times faster if not more than actually doing 5 normal leves.
Also they are pretty fun to challenge solo, unless you fail :/

which one's? they are closer to 3x the xp - don't be fooled by your 50% armory bonus - large leves... well, leves in general are terrible for XP post 50 - they need to be massively buffed as leveling alt jobs is so slow and grindy... and you can only suffer through the same dungeon so many times.

Well i have used them if i wanted to push a certain level, but agreed for the cost and exp may not at all be worth it. On the other hand if you do not craft and or gather may as well use leves on something

Yeah, the large scale leves are pretty worthless. Anyone with any smarts wouldn't waste 10 leves on it. You could only (at best) complete 9 of them for basically a pittance in experience points which wouldn't even net you a single level on any combat job. Crafting leves are slightly better, but you're still better off crafting HQ regular leves and GC hand-ins for experience since there's fewer items required, and the XP per item is significantly higher.

I think they're just there to trick unwary players into wasting all their levequests.

A trick? Some people and their crazy assumptions... It's not meant to give optimal XP, it's meant to cater to players like myself who were capped on leves for over a year because they don't level DoH/L and because leves are ass for levelling DoW/M classes. I literally never touched my leve quests after level 15, that's why these exist and I used them from 59-60 and it did help quite a bit. I can't stand the Library so it eased that grind.

teasures in large leves also give more of those useless vilekins...

Dunno? I only use them if I have a job at like... lvl 58... ran out of any other bonuses in the challenge log and really... Im sitting at 100 leves almost all the time anyway.
The armory bonus doesn't apply to the leve reward btw :/
Even if they are only half the exp you get from them (or 3 if you so prefer) it still feels rewarding (altho fake) to see those 170k exp come up in one go by battling 3~10 mins.

Tho if you are at peak times for FATEs, those beat leves by an mile and half (normal or large)

Lazy or not single leves would net u much more in a shorter time.

I spent all 10 lv 58(+1) large-scale leves for fresh lv 59 dps and I've got half of xp bar within 1 hours.

Normal ones net you much more proportional exp, but the amount of exp per minute is much greater on the temple leves.
If you do 3 temple leves within 10 mins its like you did 15 normal leves in that time frame. And seriusly, they dont take that much longer to complete from the normal ones (most only have double the stuff). So temple leves definitely wins on the time department. (unless you are leve starved and are considering the allowance time reset?)

armory bonus absolutely is applied to leves, it is NOT reflected in the quest text only the reward notice upon turning them in

I can't speak for battle leves, as I never do them because they're time consuming for so little reward, but the Large Scale Fishing leves offer quite a bit of exp. I would just fish normally gathering items to sell, and would trade in whatever I had extra for the exp from the leves. I didn't realize how much they granted until I was level 56 or 57 though, but after clearing my inventory I went up a couple of levels just from that......

They absolutely need to reconsider the xp for large scale tradecraft leves at the very least.

Why would I want to spend 2-3x more materials without even getting 2-3 times more xp AND costing 10 leves? It makes no sense.

I can understand the convenience aspect for battlecraft and gathering leves but for tradecraft leves this is absolutely a bad deal no matter the circumstances.
