Darkside, Gauss Barrel, WM "Stances"

Instead of having effects and silly things added to the gun. The stances like this should instead change the animations of the caster.

The Bard pulls his bow back and summons magical arrows instead of getting them from his quiver before firing. This would be kind of like it does in Madoka Magika!

The Machinist changes the stance to grab his weapon in both hands and fires from his hip for more damage. This would be how a stormtrooper holds his weapon and fires from the hip, making it deal more damage. However since your not a stormtrooper it would be far more accurate!

The Dark Knight changes his idle sword stance to a more offensive one instead of a defensive one. This is already in the game and is used by "Regula van Hydrus". It works really well and looks really cool. He holds his sword up in-front of him.

Er. I don't think you know what firing from the hip actually means. x_x

I don't see how firing from the hip would increase damage output, however I would much rather my character do that than wave his gun in the air like a fairy's wand.

Lmao. I know what you mean though. I agree that Gauss barrel animation looks really dumb. When I first pictured Gauss barrel I imagined your little puny gun transforming into a giant railgun and you having to use all your strength to hold yourself steady for its shots. Though MCH was designed to be more agile so that will never happen. :X

To me, I always though Gauss Barrel would have like a Megaman-ish charge at the tip of the barrel when preparing to fire, but was a bit saddened when this wasn't the case. xD

I wouldn't want to see the DRK stance changed though, I do like it. Now running with the Great Sword, that's something I would change..(not the sprint animation, but the actual run..)

For the most part i agree that the current WM/GB animations are complete rubbish and need to be changed.

WM animation: ritualistic, slowly drawing the arrow back, concentrate, aiming down the arrow shaft, followed by a subtle perfect release. There are two possible stances, European archery where the bow arm is fully extended while the drawing arm reaches forward to nock and draw the arrow, this is the stance we see in XI. Or Japanese Kyudo, where the bow arm is partially folded, the drawing arm and bow arm start more inline with the leading shoulder and both arms slowly extend from each other.

GB animation: without GB, single arm fling shots. with, two hands for to give off that "aimed shot" concentration look. Simple but classy. The current GB animation is complete rubbish.

You have the idea partially right, but the reasoning completely wrong. Firing from the hip means you fire faster because you don't use the sights. It's the opposite of aiming, which makes zero sense with Gauss Barrel adding a cast animation onto your skills.

I'll agree the current cast animation is odd, but "hip firing" makes just as little sense.

Hip firing aint accurate, also you arent using your whole body to absord the kick back of each shot on higher caliber revolvers. So no idea how he got firing from the hip which is a lot less accurate way to shoot as doing more damage, unless he means to your wrist from the kickback XD

I really don't think that SE want's to make an entire set of separate attack animations for every skill for every class that has stance changes, which at this point is a solid chunk of them. You have the WM and GB obviously, but since you included Darkside in there, you also have to include Grit, as it's also a stance change. Then there's the other tank classes, Cleric Stance, Dreadwyrm Trance, the actual different "stances" you use with MNK attacks, ect. If they do something like that for just a couple of classes, then they have to do it for all of them or people will get up in arms. And of course there will be people who don't like the new stances in comparison to the old ones and will get up in arms about it, such as people complaining about Gauss Barrel's animations, while as a MCH main, I feel they perfectly fit the "Magitek" aspect of the class as it's essentially a "using the gun as a wand to power it up" type stance......
