BiS pld and returning player

im a returning player just getting back to Ffxiv.
After searching I can't find bis for pld.. But just looking at the threads it's seems like pld it's not good these days. Should I still change to other classes instead ?
And what's the bis for pld

BiS for Raid PLD/anything? is some mixture of Esoteric Gear, Alex Normal, and Alex Savage(with Alex Savage being a possible direct upgrade to Alex Normal?)

BiS is basically highest ilvl gear you can find, avoiding parry and more acc/VIT than you need if possible. PLD is lacking a bit in offense right now compared to DRK, but still has the better overall mitigation between the two in most scenarios. WAR is pretty much guaranteed to be in the party with you.

Assuming what you say... Meaning to say I can only get eso gear highest ?

Upgraded Esoteric gear is on par with Savage Alexander gear, but requires drops from it to upgrade. So for most people Esoteric gear is the only option.

Pre-raid BiS and Progression BiS gear is what matters most, when you have Ultimate BiS set it means all content is on farm and at that point it really doesnt matter anymore. Having a ultimate BiS is only usefull when next set of raid gets relased.

Just wanted to point this out as so many are obsessed about having a BiS set nowdays.

BiS is not playing PLD and switching to either WAR or DRK :^)

There is pld who have finish the raid i think,
it's not because you can have more dps on the others tanks, you can't finish them.
So advoid parry if you can, go vit/force/acc/deter/crit the more you can and you got your pre-bis to finish the raid.
the thing you say is the same as raiding only with summoner because i got some smn dps more than others dps.
So i choose to raid with two war 3 smn/1 bard /machinist (or even kill it for a other smn) and 1 whm and 1 sch.
because war can dps more than pld, because smn dps more than others dps.
You are all ridiculous about the tank class
You don't need to play only all dps OP class in the games, or we would only play war and smn... You just need a group to work on mechanics and then push the dps to get enough to finish it.

BiS PLD is ditch any parry you can get unless it's upgraded eso tank belt. Have acc at bare minimum cap to be able to hit bosses from front. After those two are accomplished go det/crit while still meeting acc cap. Have enough HP to survive tank busters on A4 (17800ish) then go pure STR accessories once that is met.

It is quite simple to pick BIS tank gear. This applies to all tanks. Doesn't matter if you are a DRK, PLD or WAR. Crafted accessories are ignored in what i wrote below.
(1) Look through all the Esoterics gear for tanks. Look through all the Gordian gear for tanks.
(2) Left Hand side. Pick all the Esoterics or gordian pieces that do not have parry. If both the esoterics and gordian piece for that slot has parry, then pick the piece which has the stronger damage dealing stat.
(3) Right hand side. Pick those VIT pieces which do not have parry. For those slots which the VIT accessories has parry, put STR accessories instead.
(4) Done.

Note
This is only for tanks that do alex savage.
Note:If you are not doing alex savage, just buy full esoterics since you wont be able to get gordian gear anyway.
