Gather, craft and chat with my fc. :D
I've got a pretty wonderful community that I'm involved with. We put on a lot of social events and plan a lot of things around that. We're prepping for our next server-wide event currently so basically all our time is going into crafting, gathering, gardening, and the like for prizes and things of that nature.
Chat with the FC and LS's. Usually I just log off though heh.
Help out friends and FC mates with things they need, gathering, solo dungeons, chat or level my Alt.
Seriously, I have so much to do its not even funny. How do folks run out of things to do so fast? O.o
Visiting my FC mates in real life. =O but in game I just craft (power level friends) and gather and raid at casual pace. Thats it.
We have had 3 weddings in the past month or so within my FC, a few newbies we obliterated MSQ story trials for. For the most part, we group up and level alts to be ready for ranked pvp XD
Mostly when you've done all the dungeons and grind them to lvl and or get randomly dropped items, get tired of gathering from disappointment or tedious labor, and crafting with less than abysmal gear due to lack of other lvl'd crafter classes requiring you to lvl more than you expected or asking a friend/random player to help you(bless them players if/when they do).
FC's are perfect for spending time with, not to objectify your friends or players you meet, but its a community of players you can interact with, share ideas, tips, complaints, laugh with or roleplay if your into that stuff. So yeah i suppose you wouldn't get bored if you had people to associate alongside you as you play the game and may make your experience sweeter or even last, but the fc and community suggestions isn't what I'm asking for really. Perhaps I should have stated that in my post. Friends and company make anything better, no offense.
Aside from that I'd like to know what are the things you discuss and do in these social events. You struck my curiosity.
Well the social events I'm talking about come in a few varieties. We have in-guild activities that are sepcific for us. These sorts of things include guild darts (we fling ourselves off of high places and others try to land on that person along with a bunch of variations there of), we play hide and seek, dungeon dashes where we race to do the fastest run of a dungeon possible unsynced, we have bad movie nights where we get together and watch terrible movies together in Teamspeak while making fun of them. Then we have larger events where we cram a bunch of games together in one night like we did for our anniversary event on this past Saturday.
There is a lot of variety to our social events. Some of them are in game, some are out of game, but all of them are more about the interactions we have during than the actual games themselves. We play a lot of tabletops together, and generally focus on trying to just have a good time within the community.
Outside of that, we also host server-wide social events. We start advertising them about a month prior to the event. So far we haven't released the official details on our next one (Harvestide) but those details will be coming on Thursday.
A lot of work goes into the preparation of these. We put together a promotional video which requires filming events and things of that nature. We craft and collect a ton of different prizes to give away, we plan little events to have during the larger event, so on so forth. Basically the entire prep for them lasts about 3 months and we go go go the whole time. We make rounds on some news outlets and do some podcasts. We get other members of the community involved and really push ourselves to outdo the previous event every time. It's pretty fun seeing the whole server together like that.
This time is looking to be our biggest yet. We'll be giving away about 45 million gil worth of in game prizes as well as $330 in game time cards and other merchandise. So thats kind of what we do... We host events haha. As I said though, the full details will be coming out on Thursday for our next one in October.
So glad you guys will be coming out again! I always love seeing the Rain tags at our events. Really we have the community to thank for supporting us so much on these endeavors so it's really wonderful to see others getting excited already... Even before we've officially announced it lol! Hopefully you guys walk away with some awesome prizes as I know you're always active attendees =)
Dance around Idyllshire, chat with people, run old extreme content, gather, gather some more, continue to gather, undercut like a monster in the auction house, and occasionally run into people ERPing around Limsa Lominsa due to the lack of real hiding spots.
Thnx, for info Ione and Okashii. Sounds like a blast to hang around those events so I'll look forward to it. :) (no Yoshi P pun intended :/ )
It'll happen eventually, when you least expect it. One day you'll be wandering around the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and then...
*BAM!*
You've walked in on two Miqo'te males with an Au Ra female in the center of them and some naked Roegadyn just watching from the distance, like a creep.
2 and 3 man EX primals/coils (or fails on it even due to derp and lag and sometimes mechanics)
Leveling alts
Helping/Forcing others through recent content ("I am bored let's kill bissy/ravy/alex nm for ...")
Making gil so we can get a house in 3.1
Trying to force myself to craft
Chat chat chat raid chat raid
Aside from raiding with my static and attempting to level machinist (Ranged DPS Queue times where we @?), absolutely nothing
I've been reduced to writing snarky comments on an online forum for a video game at five o'clock in the morning. All things considered, lifes pretty good
