Please make i180 DoH Gear Dyable

This is really starting to irk me. The whole Red Scrip+Specialization system was supposed to allow people to focus on 1-3 crafts, but there are so many systems in place now that encourage omnicrafting (more than there were in ARR, really).

If a player levels a DoL class to 60, all they need is that class to reasonably acquire their dyable AF set. It takes time both because of weekly scrip caps and the gathering process.

If a player levels a single DoH class to 60, they have no reasonable way to acquire their dyable AF set. To do so effectively, they have to level several other classes to 60 since the mats aren't readily available (being locked behind Red Scrips as they are). Not to mention they have to use millions worth of mats to make the items, plus spend significant amounts pentamelding the i150 gear to meet the 2-star caps so they can craft them (unless they want to spend tokens to buy the 180 set first and then make the 170 versions for glamour). Then, once they have the dyable gear, they have to spend even more on pentamelds, which is yet another barrier.

There's no real reason the i180 versions shouldn't be dyable. The i170 versions already have the advantage of costing fewer Tokens, allowing them to be acquired more quickly, and the ability to be better than their i180 counterparts.

They are also significantly harder/more expensive to make.

Which is a problem all in its own. The effort to reward ratio is ridiculously messed up right now.

Maybe the 170 stuff being dyeable is the reward for the effort it takes to do everything you mentioned in your third paragraph

Mmmm my mistake! Either way I'm not huge on big vanity differences on things where the input difference isn't huge... and I think this is one of those examples of badly placed vanity (and I have the HQ variants). I think they should make them dye-able... but again I'm doubtful they'll grant this improvement. Maybe they will, who knows.

Except both the unmeldable and meldable artisan sets were dyeable.

Like the OP states, there's no reason for the i180 version to not be dyeable.
The main advantage of the i170 version is supposed to be the rate of obtaining it, and the possibility of it being better than the i180 version, at the costs of having to meld it.

Except the whole point of scrip gear is to have the gear be accessible to casual players that are more likely interested in the skin than the stats. If the gear isn't dyeable then it kind of ceases to be casual friendly.

As someone else already said, the cost to reward ratio for all 2* gear, combat as well as DoH, is pretty terrible.

Lol that's a completely subjective opinion on your part. Dyeable does not straight up equate to casual friendly and never did... just take the savage alexander gear for example

Obviously that's how they thought of it, but given that the Scrip 180 gear for gatherers is dyable for them and the effort/investment are generally much less to acquire them, it's a bit extreme that a cosmetic difference is locked behind such an arduous grind and money sink, when the sister classes don't have the same thing. As with many things in HW, they went overboard.

Ahh icic... I wonder if that means no crafted left side DOL will ever come out. Yea they definitely went overboard with many things in the expansion, most of which makes no sense to me.

Back when Favors were 15 mins each I couldn't really imagine what they were thinking. Could say the same about the specialist system and how it adds even more RNG to crafting.
