[Suggestion] Dodge/Roll Ability

I was just hoping that we can get a Dodge/Roll ability for boss fights; it can either be purely aesthetic so it "appears" as if we are gracefully dodging boss mechanics (instead of simply strafing or walking out of red circles) or it can take the place of Sprint during boss battles. Of course, you can even decide to add in an actual Dodge/Roll ability like many of the other MMOs have implemented (using a little TP with a cooldown - like a short burst Sprint). However, I know that this may require totally redesigning some if not all combat (so perhaps the prior suggestions are better). Again, it can be purely aesthetic so the fights do not seem clunky. Even if there are potential issues that may arise when implementing this, I am sure you can figure it out. After all, anything is possible!

P.S. Without seeming too greedy, I am also requesting cuter idle poses for male Lalafell. Thank you.

Now we need one for monk,Side step would be good.

Monks should just be able to kung fu kick an enemy's attack back to them.

In the video the game's dodge system makes the player char invincible for a short duration, the duration linked to the animation sequence, perfect timing can make you untouchable in that game, fighters and ranged have different dodges that require more precise timing. Would probably have to remove the invincibility part for this game.

Closest thing you're gonna see, tbh. Rolling would be a pointless addition and should stick to movement skills like that.

Im all for this. Change or add skills. Drgs evade skill is stupid, goes to far. A quick jump back about half the distance and time of animation would have been better. Surprised ninja and monk dont have something like this. They claim its action rpg, so make dodging actiony.

It's almost like one of the main thematic aspects of dragoons is evasiveness and agility or something.

It's a misconception that full plate was so heavy that if you fell you couldn't get up. Plate was designed that it distributed the weight equally over the body so it did not impair maneuverability on the battlefield.

Isn't it though? I mean we jump pretty damn high and stuff.

Do admit Tanks and some DPS need some form of quick burst that isnt linked to draining 100% of the TP. So I say yes.

Yes it is. In old turn based FF games, when a DRG was jumping, he was untargettable and automatically avoided every moves that could hit all your party. DRG was a really strong job to use in early FF games because of that. Most of the time they didn't take any damage.

Doesn't stop me from wanting it to happen, cause it'd be funny.

They could use this for a samurai; a melee dps that relies on frontal positional hits, and skills that let them swurve to the left/right flank and 100% damage mitigation skills to a single cleave.

Please SE, give us Dodging like Bayonetta/Jeanne does in Bayonetta. On top of that, once you successfully dodged out of a AoE, slow down time for 5-10 seconds.

Idk man something about spell casters in robes in FFXIV just being able to haul ass whenever they want is hilariously charming. If Physical DPS had the same amount of cardio endurance as casters that would make TOO much sense.

OP should just go roll a Warrior or Slayer in TERA. The combat there is a thousand times better than the glacial GCD we have here anyway. As much as I wish dodging wasn't limited to arbitrary evasion values and blandly strafing out of red zones this suggestion will never be implemented because of the ubiquitous attitude of, "it's too confusing/challenging for new players".

No, you cannot have my awesome DRG skill. XD Unless you role DRG.

ehh I wouldn't really say shukuchi is really a dodging skill. more a repositioning one since you do need to place the targeting circle and it probably be easier to just dodge out of an attack rather than using shukuchi to dodge.
