Whats Your Favorite Tank Class and Why?

My favorite so far is a tie between DRK and WAR but if I had to choose one I would probably go with warrior. Whats your favorite tank class?

Dark cause I love the visuals followed by Paladin for the survivability

Warrior without a doubt.When i started this game when realm reborn was launched i knew straight away i wanted to be a roegdyn.And what more perfect job for a roegdyn than a warrior.Even in the early story as Marauder when they make you smash rock as a quest you knew it was gonna be awesome.Then to later when you become a warrior to defend costa del sol against those huge turtles.Warrior story has always been epic.
I've always played and leveled other classes but but warrior has always been my main.even in other mmorpgs i always loved being the tank.

I love all 3 of the tanking jobs however I only get so much esoterics a week so I'm gearing my DRK first

DRK for me. Dispite it's faults I am loving it at the moment. FFXI was my DRK debut as DPS and loved it there. Then when I moved to this game I started out as a PLD since the other jobs didn't really interest me on being my main, not to mention I prefered Swords over Axes, even if I had a shield.

So when they announced DRK as a tank, I already knew I was gonna switch to that, thru hell and brimstone.

DRK is love, DRK is life. xD

it's the job that i main since 2.0 when they are called the shittiest tank and till now in 3.0 when they're called the best tank
and i am glad the way they play suits my playstyle as well

Warrior, because when the many actions/cooldowns are executed properly it's a work of art... tank buster savior...... Holmgang Berserk/IR EQUILIBRIUM

PLD. Straightforward and designed around a tank paradigm I'm fond of. That and I like swords.

Probaly Paladin, despite the fact I use less time on it atm.

No Question about it : Warrior!!

I always loved playing tanks in MMORPGs but i got bored of the typical "shield and sword" tank so i wanted a change.

I regret nothing at all haveing a Tank that can deal massive damage while also mitigate like crazy... i just love this class <3

Warrior but Dark Knight is not really far behind. I was main WAR til 3.0 but currently main DRK in raids and having a blast with it (my co-PLD even switched to WAR for raids). Tho I'm still a complete Warrior in my heart and may switch back to it in the future if my co-PLD wants to get back to his PLD (if the job gets some love in future patches).

I like all three about equally, but honestly only Warrior feels like a completely finished work. PLD and DRK still seem like they could use tiny modifications.

(Not that larger modifications would be uncouth, etc... In fact I can imagine some pretty good results from larger revisions. They'd just be less than necessary.)

Warrior , i can do massive damage and can migitate very well the tank buster.
Pld look also unfinished to me, the pld and dark is very good too, but i would say the way the pld is playing can be boring, i mean i would like they add a proper mechanic to the pld, (the warrior have the stacks of rage/ abbandon), (the dark knight have the dark art mechanic)
Dark is more interesting to play than pld to me.

Paladins. I've always been a fan of the sword and board tank.

I have no preference other than the one that will actually make large pulls. I play a SMN and it especially annoys me when you have a tank wearing an i200 weapon with i190+ armor and only wants to pull two mobs at a time for eso grinding. Please.

Paladin, I love sword and board classes, just wish we had more shield skills to use for fighting.

Warrior.

I've played it since the beta, been called a bad tank because my job sucked at the time compared to the PLD, been refused from every party ever in anything harder than garuda HM for a while, got to T5 with it, and then got blessed by the rework. My axe is my love, and I won't quit it for a huge while.

The only class which could make me change would be dancer I think.

PLD is interesting, but I only take the sword when I want to shut down my brain for a while, as the CDs allow more room for brainfarts. I haven't touched much the DRK yet, but I feel clunky with that huge sword. Less natural than the axe imo

My favorite tank class, is a TNK. Or tank.

That would be Samurai.

Paladin for looks. Warrior for gameplay. Dark knight is my favorite overall simply because I prefer swords over axes and it draws from both. If warriors had swords there'd be no contest

That's more because the "Fending" line here in XIV actually has some kind of impact on your mitigation, unlike XI where wearing PLD-type gear didn't mean you were able to actually tank anything. Sentinel and Rampart were huge compared to Defender, so yeah, WAR was necessarily shifted out of the tank slot into a DPS slot.

Anyway, I've had a blast with DRK, and it's so much fun just dominating the threat table in both ST/AOE situations. Yeah, it's less durable than a PLD, I guess, but it's plenty durable to eat things that are a lot more hectic when I do them as a WAR.

Lol SAM ftw! But seriously? I used to main War, even went through all 3.0 content as War. But somehow...it lost its appeal to me with the added skills. War went from being a great MT to being the best OT, which is not what I enjoy playing as in the raid atmosphere.
I was really apprehensive about trying out DRK, but PLD was boring to me...so DRK it was. And I don't regret it one bit. DRK is so fast paced and is very hard to master, but man is it rewarding!

Warrior for me, I started as a war in beta and in launch and I'm still loving the class and it's aggressive playstyle. I do enjoy DRK when I play it (still leveling it atm), but the warrior will always be my #1. Also, DRKS definitely have the best looking AF2. I need to farm WoD (again) to get the Demon armor of fending to glamour for the war. :D
