Why do people do this on the market board

Why do some people bother to put up stuff for 1 gil sometimes huge quantities of it. Why waste their time? If the price is worth that little I would vendor or it or even throw it away.

I just don't understand what runs through peoples minds when they do this. I just observed this after seeing a whole page of dodo feathers for 1g.

I have no idea, when I see something dip down that low i just either sell it to an npc vender or drop it.

I suppose they're too lazy to sell it to a vendor?

I figure someone could use it, so I throw it up on the market for the default price, or even lower. Especially when I am doing my ventures, if it's something I find worthless, I just go ahead and put it up cheap. I am sure someone needs it.

Exactly what I do. No room on retainer? Vendor then.

Especially the mob drop RNG items. It's being nice and letting someone skip that when they only need a few.

Same, even if it's worthless to me, I'm sure someone could use those 3 aldgoat hides I already have a full stack of on my retainer.

Freebies. Like a give-away

It's a win/win situation. I don't want it, and someone will buy it, whether they buy it to jack the price up and resell or to actually use it or to even vendor it themselves .

Exactly! I'm one of those people who appreciates those small stacks when I just want to make a glamour prism, or something similar.

So you people will waste your time for random people you will never interact with even? I would never do that.

Lots of other people do it, and I have benefited from it. So I pay it forward so that others may benefit. Kindness is never a waste of time.

Two reasons I can think of...
1. Helping new players out with selling for cheaper than vendor price because we just don't care.
2. Some people I am sure put it on her as "Retainer Space" usage. This way if you sell it good and if not it is there if you need it. I would just vendor it and use this space for something I actually want to keep.

Yeah, it's called "being nice"

Also you can totally see who buys your stuff. Once, a friend of mine bought a timeworn map off me, probably didn't know it was my retainer. I gave her all the gil back.

I guess I just have a different world view. I won't put in extra effort for someone I will never interact with.

I usually check item value through my retainers (sine they are the ones bringing that stuff in >.<),if the item turns out to be trash it's actually less effort to put it on market board while you are at it.
If the value is low i don't really care if i sell it for 1gil or 100gil, i just want to get rid of it wasting my inventory space.
