PVP DPS Statistics

So I've been seeing multiple discussions regarding damage in Frontlines, and rather than waiting for someone to gather data for me I decided to do it myself. I focused on DAMAGE, since that is my focus for this data set. I looked at the damage statistics at the end of each front lines match.

So far I have only gathered data for two 72-man Sealed Rock matches, to be grown in the future if necessary:

That being said, an short version of my current findings are as follows. While there are not that many log entries (~140) I think some pieces of information are quite blatantly clear already.

Please note that damage is PER MINUTE of the match:

I have been working on the sample size, and you can now see that the summoner, bard and (almost) the black mage information has been fully filled out. For those of you DOUBTFUL because of the small sample size previously, I can assure you that the disparity has only grown larger. Because somebody clearly did not read previously: DPM and HPM are measured per minute of the game.

I would like to point out, for the DPS classes that Summoners have almost double the average damage of every other class and are the second lowest for average deaths, supporting some comments in the other PVP threads and rebutting people who are suggesting that Summoner DPS is not that much higher than other classes.

I was surprised to see how good Monks were doing, and that the Dragoon's are not doing nearly as bad as their player's complaints suggest. Summoners strangely did not have the most kills (despite having the most DPS). That position was reserved for all the Melee classes (likely because of the Melee Limit Break which pretty much one-shots everything it touches) and the Mechanists!!

For other classes I want to point out that the following players showed a significant correspondence in healing (probably self healing) and how well they did in the match. Some of which surprised me:
Warriors (duh)
Monks
Dragoons

However this held true for all DPS classes: Those which did not self heal were more likely to do badly in the matches. So please, use your second winds and recuperate! Blackmages had no self healing (which was probably why they rolled over and died so often)

Just two 72-man matches so far so that's ~140 entries. It will grow more accurate over time but I was hoping for help since it takes alot of energy and time to enter the data.

This is too random with only 2 matches.

lol @500 average damage from the healers, while i cruise around at 15k-30k damage dealt every match

I agree, you need way more then 2 matches to call it statistics. I would love to see data like this with hundred matches, would be very interesting. Alot of work though.

I observe the dmg of dps and tanks for a long time. And played them too.
My result for you, to see an good/active player.



Job....................DMG

PLD/DRK..............50k +
Melees+Warri.......90k +
BLM...................100k +
SMN...................150k (Active)......220k+ (good), 300k (75% of the time in fight)


and a healer with with 200k+ healed HP is a good healer


I think a melee can easy do his 200k dmg, but in this overloaded maps is it impossible.
Bad that SE dont play PvP to understand this problem.

I am slowly updating the information, you guys can have a look from time to time. Aiming for 50 entries in each class right now.

Do not understand why you do it, but I think it is useless.

I can provide you with data since i ss some matches to check dmg and compare stuff, but most of them are 24 man match since is where i can really compare something unlike 72 maches where stuff is so random(you can see a smn doing 500k and other doing 30k, or a monk doing 200k or one doing 25k).

In my opinion if you want to make something like a data 24 man matches are better since i think ppl take it more serious than a 72 (where alot of ppl just sit and wait to get carried by the others), since is only party vs party vs party and where skill matters more.

Row 44 on the Ninja tab is recorded to have done 1,000,000 damage. I...think that may be a typo. One too many 0s, maybe?

Summoner damage is abhorrently bloated by irrelevant damage from bane. Tri-disaster baned on 16 targets is going to be absurdly high but it's easily healed through and poses no real threat, it's only there so they can fester the main target.

as a blm I do 200k-400k damage a match depending on how long they drag out for

I think 200k healing done is pretty low. I m not even main healer and i can easily do 500k+

If you take all the DMG taken by ur group , you will notice you are overhealing like hell, normally ur group wont take more than 500k dmg which is enough having 2 healers doing around +200k heals. There are exceptions ofc everymatch is diferent but normally thats overhealing which is NOT SOMETHING BAD.But yeah coz someone does under 300k is not coz hes a bad healer.

This is perfect is exactly what i posted the other day in other thread about smn,for example doing 700k heals ppl would be like "WOW BROKEN HEALER THE WHM" but nope they are not broken like smn for doing high dmg they are not broken coz most of their dmg are useless.

Wait wait wait wait wait. Some dragoons are complaining about their ability in PVP? Surely not.

I don't think this really surprises anyone, at this point. That being said, I am not even remotely surprised that SMN's have a lower kill rate than Melee. 1) melee dps limit breaks. 2)SMN's tend to try to avoid the front lines, which is one of the reasons that they're so effective at dmg'ing, but it also means they are easily put out of range for the death blow. If that 5k burst doesn't finish the target, then SMN's have nothing to seal the deal, and 3) if they do chase or try to get that final blow in, they are almost instantly burned down to a cinder by pretty much any melee class that gets their hands on them. If anything, I'm surprised their average death rate isn't a bit higher.

The machinist job stats are surprising, though. I honestly never paid attention to them in PvP... I'm gonna have to change that from now on...

Definitely true, but I'm not sure how easy that would be to do at the moment. I don't know about you, but I haven't seen a 24 man match since 3.0 came out. Is that still a thing on other servers? Someone please tell me it will be a thing with upcoming patches.

24 mans only occur if you don't have enough people queuing to make it a full 72 (or even 48). That being said, 24 mean seal rock is utter crap. You still have the huge map (especially in current balancing where an astro will not die if you have any less than 5 dps wailing on them), and only 3 nodes will ever spawn (2 past the 10 minute mark) By that point, you're at the mercy of both the game being generous with spawns and hoping that you don't get flanked by both GCs at any point in the game.

I only get them after waiting an hour in queue at like 4am-7am in the morning.

I had a 24 man earlier at around 3:30 AM. They are horrible. The map is too big for 24 people.

indeed is too big, but for me is the best pvp atm because is where you can really show some skill.
