OMG I want this. I sucked at it in 10, but I'd gladly welcome it into the game.

Let's assume our characters know how to swim, especially those hailing from Limsa Lominsa or other continents... you're fighting a water god who has made the ocean around you into his plaything. Not happening. :P

I see what you're saying, and it is rather funny to have all the swimming gear, but I'm all for NOT having swimming in the game. If they did put it in, then it's but a short hop to underwater content, which is a complete NO for me.

RIFT and WoW both did that, and it was TERRIBLE. It was ever so slightly less terrible and annoying in RIFT, but still terrible in so many ways. Just no.

As silly as this may sound, Final Fantasy XIV I actually would trust to do underwater content correctly. The series as a whole has a past of doing the (rare) underwater sections very well and making them very memorable. The Serpent Trench (FFVI) and the whole underwater scenario in FFVII come to mind as great moments. Pretty much, as a rule, the series avoids proper swimming and more "we would swim with all three axises, but likely fight on the sea floor."

I don't know how i'd feel about underwater content in ffxiv. When it comes to swimming though, I was thinking casual swimming... something like pools at our FC houses? Maybe underwater could work if they did a trial sometime down the road where we fight Emerald Weapon... (FFXIV 10.0) Imagine that for a trail.

You ever been to the beach after you stopped being like...12 years old? No one actually swims. Just hang in the sand and sun.
