whats your favorite healer class and why

so im honestly surprised there isnt a thread like this already
so what's your favorite healer class and why?
mine would have to be sch cause of the dps + fairy

SCH will aways and forever be my main healer, its the first job i got in this game, i love the whole shield+pet play style.

AST is probably the second of the list, its quick, i love the "star time mage" theme and i love throwing buffs at people.... but no one's going to replace my SCH <3

When AST was announced, I immediately knew that'd be my main.

If you name yourself after a constellation and main a healer, it would be weird for you not to main AST.

Other than that, I tend to favor Scholar because of the preemptive healing and barriers. It keeps you on your toes.

My favourite is White Mage :) I think the main thing I like about WHM is that it can focus on healing and is quite a strong solo healer - I like seeing how far we can get into an encounter with only me and a fairy healing.

Second favourite is AST because I like being able to support the raid and heal, though sometimes I find the cards distracting.

Least favourite is SCH because I don't like the aspect of healer DPS. Each to their own though :)

WHM comes on top. I like seeing the bars go up just as fast as I want them to go. Second is Scholar, the preemptive playstyle fits me well when I'm sleepy and with reaction time reduced (most of the times when I'm doing my roulettes).

SCH... I like how I can multitask with it without TOO much risk of letting everyone drop. WHM for me is really hard to play because if I'm not paying attention to health bars constantly, people always drop too low, so I end up just sitting there and I get bored (not saying people can't, I have friends who are great stance-dancers on WHM). Thanks to the fairies though, there's a bit of "padding" there just in case.

I also like AST sort of for the same reasons...the cards give me something else to do while watching people's health.

Having leveled Scholar and Whitemage to 50 in the original game. And now I have Astrologian at 60, Scholar at 56 and Whitemage at 55 I can safely state that Astrologian is my favorite.

Love the mix of heals and cards. And also the choice between healing as a Whitemage or as a Scholar. I like Scholar as well, although I'm not that good at manually managing the Fairy next to healing myself. Whitemage I find to be the least fun job.

So the star gazer job is the one for me :)

I vowed I wouldn't be a healer in ARR (healed in both XI and WoW) but found myself seduced by SCH. WHM is fun too, but I don't play it as much, mainly because I like to deeps and find it much harder to manage MP on WHM. Haven't tried AST at all except to unlock it so can't comment. I do intend to level both AST and WHM to 60 tho. So I guess the vow not to be healer didn't work out for me XD. I know folk think healers have a stressful time, but I find it much less stressful than being a DPS (I worry too much that my numbers don't add up, healing I can tell if I'm doing a s**t job because people are lying on the floor!)

Favorite is AST. I like having to quickly decide who/how to buff with cards, while managing everything else like HP and my MP and cool downs.

Least favorite is SCH. I think it's cause I prefer to be the healer. Not leaving it up to AI. Sometimes I even get pouty when I have a co-healer when I know I could solo heal something. I don't like sharing those green numbers, I guess..

I like all three healers, when I am bored, I go with SCH since it plays like SMN with healer pet. When I just want to heal and heal nicely and smooth, WHM is the one to go. And if I want to "pretend" I am doing something more and feels like buffing, the AST is the job. All three healers are varied enough, it's hard to play favorites. But Arcanist is definitely my favorite class, two jobs for the price of one, with SMN being one of the best class to solo, can't beat that!

WHM and AST tie for my favorites. I love the raw potency of WHM healing and DPS compared to the other healers. I love AST's RNG buffs that keep me on my toes thinking about who need which buff and why. SCH is my least favorite. Mostly because I'm disinterested in pet classes.

Astro. I like being able to be whatever healer is needed at a moments notice and access to useful buffs. Plus the card system and the animations are killer.

I like SCH the most. We may not have the highest DPS (WHM Holds that title without RNG for sure), but we are the safest Heal DPS in my book. :3 (Fairy Micromanegment + Emergency Heals)

Favorite? White Mage the whole knowing when to not heal and when to and when you can boost the party to near full HP after an attack. Just something special in that. Usually have a good Scholar co heal buddy along that mostly DPSes so it tends to be the fairy and myself that do a lot of the healing until the going gets rough and people start to derp.

SCH and AST are both nice but WHM just comes out on top for me

I just love everything about him! Most of all his instant-playstyle, so you can sudden react After damage or unexpected situations!

Second is Scholar :)
his Gameplay is very interesting! Also to manage the fairies well!
But nothing over the Ast n.n

Scholar. When given the chance to play to its maximum healing potential (I often hope for slip ups in the grindy casual content >_>), it just feels so rewarding. AST makes the daily grind more bearable with random cards, but Scholar feels like the guardian angel in the background. Plus I vastly prefer pre-emptive healing/shielding.

SCH ALL DAY! we are the quality over quantity healers, we are tactical, efficient, smart, and the perfect oh shyt healers, not to mention being an extra dps with the ability to heal a Sch played with a high level of skill is just unmatched, we are the stance dance kings and the hardest heal class to play to its full potential. I love Sch because it keeps me on my toes, you should never be standing around as a Sch there is just so much you can do!

Started off as a sch in 2.x and have never looked back only leveled other heal classes to see how I can best heal with them on my Sch!

I say I main SCH and i'll typically use that role for most things

but i honestly find AST to be the most fun and active in how it works and as such its actually my fav even if not my automatic choice for everything
i just feel like I'm doing more and having to be more to perform as an AST and i love that feeling

I would say AST for me, though SCH is a close second. I'm not a big fan of healer DPS, but SCH's playstyle always clicked better for me than WHM's did, so SCH ended up being my main for a long time (while I waited for NIN to come out). I tend to go SCH when helping lower-geared folks get clears, as the added DPS makes things go a bit faster (which helps me because I've run a lot of this stuff way too many times already). Otherwise, I greatly prefer the more support-oriented AST style.

I suppose with WHM's wider variety of instant heals, I should give it a go again, as Lustrate was always one of the biggest draws for me on SCH (the other being the faerie so I can text mid-pull sometimes... >.>; )

I've leveled them all to 60, but white mage is my love. I love the lore, quests, the aesthetic of both the job and abilities, the raw healing, the satisfying crunch of a Stone III as it hits, the connection to the elements, the ability to clutch heal with big numbers.

While I enjoy the utility and different flavors of SCH and AST, WHM just feels right.

I enjoy all the healing classes really. For raiding though WHM is my favourite. I love the challenge of solo healing hard content during progression. Doing casual content like dungeons I run as SCH or AST.

White Mage!

I enjoy their overall aesthetic of druidism and nature. Air, earth and water are elements I tend to be particularly crazy about which the White Mage focuses on (favourite summon through the ages would be Leviathan, and I've always considered Aero and Quake spells really cool when they appeared). And while many healer sets are shared, I find the gear design for White Mages are very good, with honourable mentions going to the (High) Allagan sets and the Lvl50 Artifact sets. If only the hood was /visorable...

Gameplay wise, I really enjoy having the tools for practically any situation. I enjoy seeing those big green numbers. I love actively stance dancing. I'm in love with our big hits, despite being healers. I like watching HoTs surely but slowly getting everyone up to fighting condition. I'm crazy about landing a Cure II just as a tank buster happens. Or even a Medica (II) or Cure III as big raid damage goes out. I like the feeling of how rewarding it is to play a White Mage at a high level, despite its true and tried traditional simplicity.

Scholar is current favorite but AST may edge it out. Healing is an alt-alt job for me, so I only play it as needed by FC or when I get around to it, but SCH feels like it has the right amount of stuff to do + more powerful dps than WHM. I may change my mind when I get AST to 50. I really enjoy the look and feel of the class and it's even better to play with the recent buffs.

SCH remains my primary Job because of its flexibility and potential for min/maxing healing and DPS through proper shielding and pet management.

WHM I enjoy for its straightforward playstyle with front-heavy heal and DPS options. Very satisfying to learn fights on WHM and perform them well.

AST has a great aesthetic and a fun expanded toolkit with a couple of unique CDs and the cards. Reminds me of 2.x WHM in that you really need to know your fights since AST has the fewest instant healing options. The other two Jobs still feel more powerful and "complete" to me, but AST has tools to find a niche now, I think.

AST for me. I absolutely love the animations. They are beautiful. I have always loved the night and day - sun/moon/stars theme. I love the weapon, and feel their Eso gear is, by far, the best. I enjoy being able to heal via regen or shields (even switching in dungeons based on the fight), buff my party, as well as throw some DPS out there.

I main scholar but my favorite is ast. The new buffs are amazing and the card system is really fun. The animations are super flashy and the best of any other job.

Scholar would be my favourite if it wasn't so semi DPS centric. I absolutely adore the weapon, the casting animations, the spell animations, having pets (Carby for scholar pls). However I don't like playing DPS, I like to heal. So Ast is the next best thing since again I love the aesthetics haha.

I like to heal and the best heals are from the WHM so thats my favorite.

WHM! Nothing quite like saving the day with a Benediction or a well-timed DS + Medica II.

In all honesty, I don't really like SCH. I find them kind of snooty...

SCH is and will always be my favorite. It's very versatile. I'm also liking AST...WHM was always boring to me...

I've always enjoyed playing White Mage the most. I like their tool kit, especially in Heavensward.

Their CC abilities such as Knocking a target back, and then sleeping them is amazing. It basically gets the enemy out of AoE and then CC's them. Also, Holy being able to AoE stun is like a damage mitigation move itself. Lastly, I've always loved Regen abilities a lot more than shields.

In Heavensward, having the new abilities off the GCD now for extra healing is amazing and Aero 3 is a great DPS spell to have. I love it!

WHM seems to better fit my preferred healing style but I find SCH to be super fun too. Looking forward to trying AST too eventually... whenever I finally get to Heavensward content.

Astrologian all day every day...except for the days I leveled as a whm to unlock the ast...

Can't bring myself to try out sch. The fairies are a real turn-off :/

I was white mage main for about a year when i started playing again, levelled scholar because a static i wanted to join needed one. Haven't looked back.

While i still enjoy white mage, scholar just has so much more going on IMO. Heals, shields, buffs, fairy management and dps inbetween it all. Works for me.
Recently played through a dungeon on my wifes' white mage.. was seriously bored.

Haven't tried astro out yet, meaning to get to that after i finish levelling my monk.

WHM by a mile. Aesthetically tho it's ast.

Scholar I loved for the lore. I played it for a while because I wanted to play a class that, in its own lore, had itself as a masterful strategist. In practice, scholar just feels like such a disappointment. It just doesn't live up to its own lore, which is what turned me off from playing it.

I'm still leveling Ast, but so far, it feels bounds more strategic and intelligent to play. Just my 2 gil.

i lv a WHM when i first started healing and loved it, but then i got hold of the SCH and thats it i was hooked and the fairy looks aswome :D

For heals its the SCH, nothing beats having a pet that heals with you

Lore wise, i like the AST its just cool to be a mystic-gambling astrologist
