Hi guys, I'm a Healer since I started playing FFXIV at patch 2.3... I switched constantly between SCH and WHM since I had a party and we were doing The Coil of Bahamut... Since my University started, I have little time to play, so I quit the group and now FFXIV I can't find a class to play... I'm tired of being at a DF or PF as a Healer... it's notthe same feeling... so... I'd like to know a little bit more about the classes (not the explanation from the wikis... I need REAL stuff about the classes) I played with almost every one of them but I couldn't level up them because I got bored in the process, so now I have just 1 lvl 60 Sch and no motivation to continue to play... Any tips of which class should I try to play?

You tried almost all of them, didn't like the way they played, and are now bored. Either try the ones you haven't yet or take a break. People can try to sell you on a particular job until they're blue in the face, but at the end of the day nobody can make you enjoy the job or the leveling process that goes along with it.Quote:

The first suggestion is a summoner. It's playstyle is relatively unchanged from before but it now has a lot more burst and aoe damage. It also carries the same raid utility of scholar that you might enjoy and it's still the best solo class in the game.
Do you have any classes or games you've been playing that you like now? It's good if we know what you're looking for and playing now, rather than to throw out random ideas. There's also the possibility that the game is not the best fit for you now and that you might want something that's not an mmorpg until you finish school. -

I like casters.... but I think I'm getting bored because I don't have time to level up anyone anymore...I liked BLM but with one hour a day it's almost impossible to level it up to 60 before 3.2 rsrsrs
| tryed summoner but I dunno why I can't fit those skills on my rotation and the other smn I know just complain and say nonsenses about the class... so I get bored after so long speeches about how useless he was, and at some mechanics people said to me at df "Hey, you will do de mechanic because you have a pet and smn has the worst dps between the role"
I like archers too... but I don't think it suits me... but I think Ranged dps is my type of character -

hm... I'll try both... I need some gear for my SMN but it will be no prob... machinist is an RNG job... I'll get some guides and some things at the forums to figure it out the differences from 2.x and 3.x and machinist guides... my one is at level 53... but before GB's buff I was kicked from every dungeon because my DPS was "way too low" and after the 3rd dismiss I quit the job

1 hour a day is enough time to do your leveling roulette. It's not the fastest but it will get you there.
Meanwhile, I wonder if, perhaps, it is not the jobs that are the issue but the content. If you're simply bored of doing dungeons and such, try some raids. -

Unfortunately raiding with a static might be impossible with only 1 hour every day.
I honestly think part of it is also your expectation. You want to play like you used to, but your college lifestyle just doesn't allow it. So you either have to change your college lifestyle or your game time (maybe a 3 or 4 hour binge on the weekends instead of 1 hour every day). That way you can raid and do other content than the 1 hour dungeons and hunts you've been doing. -

With your very limited playtime, Umbreon, I'm wondering if this is even the right game or genre for you.
MMOs have an incredible investment of time compared to other games. To compare, I ran through Farcry 4 recently, and with every single quest and collectible in the game done my save game sits around 40 hours.
40 hours in this game? If you're reading quest text, you're MAYBE around level 30 on your first class.
Learning to play a given job effectively also requires investment, and not in tiny chunks spread out over a month, but in a long continuous session so you get an actualy FEEL for how the job works; likely the source of people complaining about your DPS as you mentioned - you simply don't have the time to really feel how the job works and is most effective.
Perhaps you should look at playing offline/single-player RPGs or the like while you're in university? They are a lot more forgiving about only playing an hour a day. -

I just don't have time now...and thats why I posted this thread, I'm almost leaving ffxiv cause I'm bored so maybe some people around here can gimme a help to void this boredness that are draining my motivations to continue on this awesome mmo -

And when I say they cryed because of my dps... They not even saw it... They just kicked me before the raid/dg started or said that I need to do this mechanic or that one because Im useless (before the boss started and they not even checked my dps to confirm)
