how much romance rp is to much

in ffxiv we seem to much romance rp in way emotions. i like remind player that there thing rl out there that you go out get really relationship and go on dates and stuff. please rp has place but please tone it down alittle

I think he doesn't like people role playing in-game, and wants to remind us that real life exists too.

Dude I have serious problems trying to figure out what you're even saying. Try rephrasing it, using short sentences.

I don't mind rp believe my first game was rp lord the ring server in nwn. i like rp trust me and my first rp character was rp a phoenix that toke form of human kind like dragon do in dnd. I all for rp.

Romantic RP and its smutty cousin ERP don't happen on all the servers, at least not all the time. If you're uncomfortable with RPers, then either leave the area or just ignore them. The only thing that kind of annoys me is when people are RPing in shout (really?) At least with /say I can turn that channel off and go back to fishing or whatever.

Sometimes you have a relationship that, even though you may know them IRL, you're far apart.
I mean, hell. Let them do what they want...don't bother them. It's rude when you tell a couple who's obviously enjoying their time together to move to a different area because blah blah.

I'm married to my hubby, because we love each other. Unfortunately, the distance breaks us but yeah.
We ain't toning it down if you don't like it. (At least we don't do /emote has a urge to- (stopping there), those are even worse).

You seem to have some PDA issues. Not a lot of people are going to understand what you're trying to say because they don't have that problem. I did once.. not sure what happened, guess my wife made sure she broke that bad habit. XD

This is a typical RP thing. Not just in FFXIV though. The problem with Romance RPs is people let the relationship built between characters bleed into the people behind the characters. Typically why it's dangerous at the same time to participate in them. They can be nice, but leads to some unnecessary drama at times~

I was diagnosed with aspergers when I was very young. Not exactly sure why you brought up your aspergers... or what you mean by RP being "useful in some ways"?

I don't completely understand your edit either... but if emotes bother you, you can filter your chat tab to ignore them. To find chat settings, press the GEAR icon by your chat tabs.

I talk about rp elim not asperger even though i find imagination also useful :)

I haven't noticed much of the romantic stuff on Faerie. Maybe I'm just oblivious though.

I totally misunderstood the OP. Well, my point can be a side thing of RP in general. But yes, this is just a RP PDA thing. If it bothers you here, I'd imagine it'd bother you in real life all the same. If it doesn't, why is that? Hey. Newsflash~ Romance movies or anything with romance in them is also RPing. Yet we're not giving them flak because it's a movie? What's wrong with it in game?

Anyway, as others mentioned. You can just turn off the appropriate channel or just leave the area if it's THAT much of a bother. Me personally, sometimes I face palm depending on how cheesy and corny it can be. But I get a chuckle out of it too depending on the context. Being an RPer myself in general..I've seen my share of things.

when 2.0 start i hope see rp server myself for those who enjoy rp

Hallucinogenic Gigantoads might be involved here.

There are unofficial RP servers, Balmung being the main one, but people aren't gonna want to leave their existing server and friends etc. just because they like to rp.

Seriously, the blacklist button is there. You can turn off emotes. You'll be fine ^^

It's not very common on Behemoth, so I'm unsure why this thread was even started. I occasionally role-play like a nerd, but it's usually kept to party chat. Also the fact I dress provocatively might give people the right wrong ideas.

Ehhhh i hate ppl using RP macros in df runs ( specially those rp smns ). But romantic rp is something i enjoy bashing. Have some fc members that like to rp and we call him the heartbreaker kid ( HBK ) cuz that guy rps with his new waifus every few weeks or months. We all told him " we told you so" but he's like naw and continues to Rp with new girls so i guess thats where my dislike of rp in general comes from.

If you wanna rp plz don't do it in shout. You rping with a bunch of ppl in idyllshire in shout chat is so obnoxious.

yep i was right this isn't rp at all i thought i give example of rp use my character for nwn so first like give so backround since she was phoenix in human for she had hair made feather.

so example
Phoenix "my comb away get stuck run through my hair" *as she run her hands through her long feathered hairs. sigh out frustration tried to untangle her comb*

you get fail in your rp class today. rp is about tell a story kind like open part ffix. rp equal acting in game use the most creative was express you action. for combat to rival to love. but not let married the whisper xxx in whisper channel
