What is Stella good for? (PvE)

I recently picked up a Astrologian for fun and got it to level 50, but I still can't for the life of me find a use for Stella. It's possible that the skill is just useless, or maybe I'm doing it wrong. I tried asking in game but nobody ever replies so to the forums I go.

Anyone have a use for Stella?

Heavy effect, if needed.

If you get focus by mobs in dungeon you can swiftcast it. Otherwise if you're doing wild pve you can put yourself at the maximum distance from your target and use it. It will givee you somet ime to put your dot or kill the mob by spamming Malefic.

To be frank, you'll really rarely use it in instance.

Heavy is basically useless in a dungeon, at least that's what I find. If I pull agro I'd rather run toward the tank then cast stella and put distance between myself and the mob.

Edit: Only time I could see it being useful is on a boss if it's chasing you, but most bosses are immune.

Stella is basically useless in PvE.

You're correct, but that's the extent of it's uses.

useless and thats it. in solo or in dungeons, just useless, i have it somewhere very far away hidden

Stone 1 = 140 potency, same effect

If you're playing AST? Stella.

Wish it was an aoe instead :/ Or be able to spread combustions.

I can find this useful in PvP only.

Are you stalking me? lol, you answered so fast, my original post was edited in a few seconds just after having posted.

I think Malefic 1 should have the same effect than Stella with his actual potency, and Stella should be a skill with another effect. Anyways, It doesn't really bother me if that doesn't change. It's not the only job where you have some skills you don't use often.

Mostly useless from what I have seen. I only use it during leveling roulette when some tanks have tunnel vision on their current target and let the others roam free..

You know, those times when even running to the tank for help won't do anything. Plus it's fun for archers that try and kite kill mobs I suppose. xD
This all only applies if, of course, the darn spell works on them..

It's like my WHM's Stone 1. Which barely get used either by me. Stella I barely use either. Can just as well cast Regen or Aspected Benefic on myself when getting distance from the enemy.

For coil turn 5 dreadknights heavy is usefull too.

To slow down things you want slown down, be it to kite, run away, increase time it takes for them to reach you, and ect.

The most common use is for escape and slowing down enemies from reaching a bad place, like turn 5's dreadknights or recently A3's lubricants (slimes).
