stop copying idea's from ffxi (new jobs)

I was disappointed when i heard about the new jobs, it makes me want to label ffxiv to ffxi-2 :mad:

i wouldn't mind if we had all the jobs XI had to offer, that's not the issue the issue is the underlying mechanics becoming like XI.

the mechanics of the job system are nothing like ff11,. its gonna be a brand new set of skills. not the bottom half of an existing class skills. Jobs will bring new high and low lvl skills and all new gear.

Looks like someone didn't play other FF's if they think "warrior, white mage, black mage, monk" were brand new when FFXI came out. It's part of the franchise. Paladin came a little later, with the rest there from the beginning. I guess chocobos and airships is copying FFXI, too.

bingo they are staples through out the entire franchise. there are other jobs from the series that XI didn't have that this game could surely tap into.

Dude these are Final Fantasy jobs... not XI jobs. They been at the core of this series from the very begging. I wouldn't accept anything else in this game.

Have you even heard of the Final Fantasy franchise before? Those jobs are a staple of the whole series.

i know those jobs existed on different ff series but what i like about xiv is the new creativity like conjurer class and physical lvl job,in all honesty i dont like where patch 1.21 is going because its too similar to ffxi where you need to reach lvl 30 to unlock those new quests, just like xi was

XI's jobs came from FFIII and FFV.

It is indeed a crime to copy from your own game series, it's not like a popular MMORPG used lore from a past game or anything.

While the job names are the same as ffxi, they are also the names of jobs in other ff games as well, this is a ff game which is why they went for the old job names.

For example, in FFIV Kain is a Dragoon and in the story Cecil becomes a Paladin, in FFI you can have the jobs Warrior, White Mage, Black Mage, Monk and Red Mage (I know some of these arent in use here yet) in FFV there are aload of jobs including White Mage, Warrior and Monk, they arent copying FFXI, they are keeping the traditional jobs alive

You are wrong, totally wrong... If we are playing Final Fantasy, then, there should be at least, Black Mage, White Mage, Monk, Thief, Warrior and Dragoon. Every single FF in history has had this jobs, some had even more, Blue Mage is involved in most FF somehow (Through Enemy Skill materia in FFVII, Quina is a Blue Mage in FFIX, Blue Mage is a job in FF Tactics), Ninja (Zidane, Amarant in FFIX, Yuffie in FFVII, choice in FF Tactics), Summoner (Garnet and Eiko in FFIX, Summon Materia in FFVII, job in FF Tactics), just to mention a few games and jobs, there are several more.

They are not copying FFXI, they just want to make us feel we are playing a FF series game.

SE needs to stop giving Conjurer mixed signals. It's either a Black Mage or a White Mage, it can't keep trying to be both! It will end up like SCH and SCH even had a lot of really awesome stuff to make the hybrid almost work. Until SE ultimately beat it relentlessly with the nerfstick and let the other real mages use its cool abilities :(

PS: I'ma be extremely upset if THM becomes the "Black Mage" when CON has all the ancientlolmagic and elemental nukes.

I actually thought it was funny that, in the live interview, someone asked him (Yoshi that is) if he was intentionally making this into ffxi-2. He replyed that they are two totally seperate games. 3 questions later he goes on to state that the new jobs will be whm, blm, paladin, ect. Hell, even the whm gear is identicle to XI. TO be fair though, and the part that you, and most people dont seem to get is, these have always been the jobs in just about every FF. They may be called different stuff from time to time but, pretty sure if you go and look , there have always been whms, blms, ect. BIG SUPRISE then that they found there way into XIV, am I right??

If any job's from any FF game should be copied it should be from Final Fantasy 5 & Final Fantasy Tactics.

Yeah, for some reason, the developers are thinking that since ff11 was great, let's just copy all the ideas from 11 and add it into 14.

Just like the caravan security, it's basically ff11's escort quests. Nothing new, nothing fresh. And back in 11, I did escort quests repeatedly for XP scrolls, and not because it was a fun thing to do.

I've done Escort quests in at least 5 MMOs the past 2 years.

I wish instead of throwing a job system on top of what we currently have they had instead just worked on giving us the skills and flexibility needed to create those role-centric builds with the current system. The extra layer is completely unnecessary.
