Maybe allow First and Second CoB (T1-9) to be solo-able?

So, something has been bugging me terribly recently: for my tank I have all the First CoB gear and FCoB gear, but none of the SCoB gear. (For those curious, I wasn't playing for a majority of SCoB. Progressed through T6-8, but static dropped at T9... we sucked, lol.)

I just want that High Allagan gear so bad!

Some arguments to the idea that I think would show up:
-"Should've been there, and should've earned it like the rest of us did, you noob!"
-"If they make it solo-able, that would just be a stain on a once great raid!"
-"This would give pre-60 characters a nice and EASY jump in gear"
-"Just make a PF and get people to Glam Farm, dumbie!"
-"Fights a so face roll now! Getting the gear should be easy!"

I understand, and if these last quotes are anything you would think of if "nerfing" First and Second CoB for solo-able runs, here is my plea and answers:

I can't argue much with this. I cleared T6-8 before nerfs, and sucked at T9 and group eventually fell apart. Never the less, I feel this is not a valid argument seeing that I was doing Primals, leveling, crafting, and other things while waiting to find another static. Still, though, not an actually argument to allowing someone to solo the run just for glam

At least for SCoB, there is still savage; so the challenge of the raid can stay intact. Maybe, just maybe, someone in Yoshi-P Co. could remake a Savage T1-5? If it's about the raiding experience and challenge that you remember, then the Savage runs will keep that intact.

Make the solo drop ilvl 1 "Replicas;" similar to the replica items for the relic weapons -- problem solved. Not only that, but T1-9 items are still not as good as the SOL or T10-13 items... ya.

Tried this many times. Usually goes well past 60 minutes, and possibly into the 2 hour range before you MIGHT get a full party for the farm. So, most groups will decided to either cut their loses or go in with 3-6 members. It is SO possible to do T1-9 with only 3-6 people who KNOW the fight, no doubt! But with some fights like T8 and T9, you need to know the mechanics of the fight, and if you don't you will not clear the runs. I understand why people don't want to go back into T1-9, and it's cause they already have their sets, or they simply don't want to run those raids again.

RNG is still a factor with T1-9. There are no books to guarantee the items later. I got into a group of 6 where we plowed through T6 about 5 times before the other tanks boots finally dropped. Even with a group, there is still that chance you wont get the drop. So, picture this, you wait a week before you finally get a T6 group to farm, you kill Raf, like, 15-20 times, and the god-damned Fending Circlet never drops. Party disbands. Will you find another party next week? Possibly, possibly not.

I feel like I will never be able to get these items simply because 1. no one is running the content, 2. the content is still tough enough that it is un-solo-able, and 3. even if I get a group, RNG can still shaft me.

I just want that High Allagan gear so bad! T_T

no. for story purposes ? yes go ahead. for glamors? NO. learn the damn fight and get em they shouldnt be handed out people worked thier asses off for these back then with 50. the dps checks and heal checks are GONE with 60. so even less "skilled" players can do em these days.

agree on the RNG on drops tough. should have been tokens YEARS ago mr yoschi.

also first coil has ben DUOED already on all turns. heck even t6 was done by 2 tanks without a healer already.

no need to nerf it further down. t8 falls so fast with 60 most mechanics dont even happen. allagan field happens like what? 1 or 2 times at most now? most tower phases end before the towers even reach max stacks aswell.

If they were going to do that I would rather they just let you buy them with LAW. But my overall opinion is probably the same as most...you need to learn the fight and do the mechanics...no hand out...I agree...people worked their butts off to clear this content and to just "give it away" now would be lame.

I know the fights. I cleared them pre-nerf (post nerf for T9). I know them very well. But that doesn't mean the other players do.

Ya, I am sure T1-4 can be duo'd, but with some work. Although 2 tanks on T6 means that they formulated a strat on all the phases specifically for the fight, which would almost be like relearning T6 over. Looking to farm, not clear XP

If ya read the post (which was long and winded, so I'll give it to ya) I address the "people who worked for it," and that, ya, they did and they get the "real" versions with real stats. I mean, I worked my butt off on T5-13, and to be honest, I could give 2 shits less if they nerfed that content to the ground.

WTF is everyone's deal in this game and nerfing super old content?

I guess all I am trying to say is whether the gear is relevant or not it does symbolize what someone has accomplished in the game. When I wore my t9 Bard chest piece I felt proud and everyone in the game (well most) knew what it meant to have that piece...I beat T9 and that means something to a lot of people. Now if everyone can just run around the game with it...it just doesn't "feel" right to me. I don't want to hate on other players it is just how I feel. Please don't take my thoughts the wrong way.

I was farming T8 for glamour just a couple of weeks ago and we were only getting one Allagan Field with a five-person group--- four lvl 60s and me at 54. If you undersize it, the only thing you really need to worry about is Ballistic Missiles, and even then you'll only get one of those too.

You can 4-man both T9 and T13.
Just find a couple friends who know what they're doing on this game and git gud.

Sooo... just because the content isnt relevant anymore/isnt top-raid-endgame-stuff we should get rid of everything that could make this fights interesting? Can we remove mechanics from everything that isnt Alex Savage then?


I'm sorry but you wasnt thinking very well of this - you want this gear, I get that. And while I can agree on a tokensystem (even though I kinda prefer rolling on gear) I cant agree on your argument that this gear should be handed out to people. This is not a solo-game, it has groups for a reason... even some of the level 50 dungeons cant be solo'd - because they're having mechanics that relay on a group... and I dont think we should get rid of stuff that makes content interesting. Specially because you're saying: Nerf this fight so damn hard I can do it on my own. Thats pretty egoistic of you, dont you think so, mmh? There might be people out there who would prefer a more... original experience.

This content is easy enough by now - and whats so bad with people have to learn how to deal with mechanics? Nothing, I say. I'm seeing so many people in HW-dungeons struggeling with mechanics already... I'm not saying that not everyone should clear t9/13 by now. I'm not saying not everyone should wear that gear - but: put a little effort into it. Learn the fight. Organize people to do it with you (yes, that was part of doing that content earlier too - organize your static, that got nerfed for you aswell, since the content is face roll enough - hooray!). Its not my glorious kill thats going to waste if you can - with little effort - just solo this content - its the effort people put into this. And I simply dont believe that should change just because you want that gear. (I really wanted my tankcoat aswell and joined a glamourfarmgroup last week. We were running t9 with 4 tanks, one healer, one dps, nice and easy clears, after 6 runs I had my coat, so... dont tell me its not doable anymore)

all of scob can be done with 4 people or less, I dont see the issue? you should be able to clear it even messing up most of the mechanics

None of you understand what he wants to say. The same happened to me so I understand. He is talking about farming. And people who actually need to farm it are new to its contents, most of the time.so it doesn't allow you to farm quickly. Waiting times on PF were horrible for me as well, sometimes waiting 3 hours for nothing. I finally got an awesome group for t9 and we downed it like 30 times. Not everyone got his loot though. Thing is, if you wanna farm it faster my advice is, make all tanks of your server free to join it. I made most of my runs with 4 or 5tanks and it shortens waiting time. Lock the first loot too,you might get what you want. Took me a month PFing everyday to get it. But I'm proud of what I look like now.

I do understand that hes talking about farming this stuff - what you&he doesnt understand it that this fights are designed for groups, aka having mechanics that you *cant* handle alone, like conflags in t5, golmes and fire&ice in t9 and so on. Making this stuff solo-able would only be possible by two means:
1) Remove said mechanics - I dont want that, because that would make this fights extremly boring and stupid faceroll-content, thanks we've got enough of that
2) Redesign the fights and replace/adjust the mechanics - I'm sorry but I rather see them spend man-power on developing new content - instead of redesign a whole fight

This content is farm-able. You dont need 8 people to do it - high allagan armor looks pretty cool, so if you put the effort into it you should be able to build a linkshell with friends and like minded people to farm this content, in a group, as intended...

Or you could make friends and not use PF at all?
10 minutes on forum sites and you'd easily find a nice cadre of people who would like to get some glamours.

That really depends on the server dude. Moogle server is, in example not the most friendly I've been in.

I still want quite a few high allagan drops too. I did t9 at least 50 times, and saw the tank chest only one time. I never got the claws, the pld sword, or the axe which I wanted for glamors later either. But I still wouldn't have t9 any other way. You can already shit on everything if you go in as 60's, so I'd like there to still at least be a remnant of the challenge that was there that most of us worked hard to overcome. Savage is irrelevant to the difficulty because it's its own entity, and having ilvl1 gear wouldn't make anybody feel differently anyway because I won't be using i110 gear as anything but glamor so there's absolutely no difference. The whole OP reeks of entitlement.

I disagree with this 100% T1-13 should not be soloable, myself, FC mates and the static I was in since 2.0 struggled with a lot of the content. T4 for example was a nightmare, as was T5 when it came out now you can 3 man it, hell you can even 2 man T6. Before HW came out my friends started to play, each of them hit 50, got like ilvl 118 or so and helped them clear T1-13. We did it and cleared T13 a week before HW for them. I've done it all and this isn't an "epeen" thread but the challenge of normal and savage coil shouldn't be soloable my friends were happy they got to experience t1-13 and wish they could've done savage at that time and were happy with how difficult it was.
