Could also be a gimmeck style fight like Bismark, or we are on something moving along with Doomtrain.
I'm going to guess that doomtrain will be like Bismarck. Either us riding next to doomtrain. Or us being on top of it.
I dunno... Doomtrain just seems way too obvious (plus, there's no Primal minion). Hades, on the other hand...
We could always fight it on a separate train running ahead or parallel to it I guess, it would be quite cool to have the outside area of the boss fight heavily animated.
Well I mean, there's also the "What evils would bring together two Primals, a Behemoth and a Bomb?" hint. I'd figure the SE team would be super vague with their next Primal, rather than outright (if near NPC) saying what it will be. Hades could combine things in FFIX (one being Ark), for example :o
I will channel my inner Sabin.
*flexes Lalafell Monk muscles*
Bring it.
Doomtrain was never in Final Fantasy 6 though...
Clockwork Doomtrain is probably going to be a Void Ark minion drop (calling it now. Void Ark quest name will probably be "The Phantom Plane").
Doomtrain in FFVIII was also known as Glasya Labolas in Japan.
Nah i bet they r just gonna make it like steps of faith.
We fight on top of the train*
A longgggg rectangle with seperate sections of the train (spawning waves of trash etc ) till we reach the end and fight the doomtrain's head etc.
this is probs the only logical choice of design SE would take if they were to feature the "whole" train.
When they said they were hinting at a new primal in the upcoming Rising event, I started screaming for Doomtrain at my FC. And now with this hint, I hope it comes true.
I want it to be a Steps of Faith battle, but rather us chasing it, it's chasing us. A horrifying battle of intense running and screaming and just general fun shenanigans for all. (Maybe he picks a random target to chase after, similar to the Big Bad Wolf event Warcraft's Karazhan?)
Either way. I am excited for Doomtrain primal; and I hope we get a click ability to suplex the train to stun it or something.
It can have a moving background.
I want a fight more like this.

You jump from trains to trains fighting enemies. If you don't jump off in time you fail, with many trains and many types of fights and paths.
Just to refresh because I'm not remembering it precisely, There is a train that runs between Castrums, and I think it is called Phantom train, yes?
Who on earth is going to summon Doomtrain and why?
I can see the thought process "I NEED POWER, I NEED RESPECT, I NEED SPOOKY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!"
Maybe it'll just be some kind of weird attempted money making scheme by Rowena, but I don't know of anyone who would be particularly interested in summoning a vehicle.
Yes. It's Garlean transport technology.
With you right there, Basketofseals. I really don't see how Doomtrain can be a Primal in this game or why. It just makes more sense for that Clockwork comment to imply it's a drop from Void Ark... but as a Primal? The name doesn't even sound like something that sits with the others (Ifrit, Ramuh, Garuda, Bismarck, Doomtrain, Ravana, Shiva, Leviathan, Titan).
I thought that guy was referring to a new minion, to be honest... "clockwork" is what a lot of the minions are, so...
And since Primals do not drop minions of themselves...
Except Doomtrain was also called Gashaboras (Gurasha Raborasu or Glasya Labolas) in FFVIII.
I am personally all for beating armour panelling and creepy stuff off a moving Doomtrain. And punching its face in. I'm gonna wear red for this fight.

And Glasya Labolas is already in FFXIV, so they can't call Doomtrain that.
Isn't Doomtrain also a summon from FF8 too? I'm just hoping for some more FF6 gear from the new raid ^^.
Well, that's because it was called Glasya Labolas (グラシャラボラス) in Japanese (it also made why it came from the Solomon Ring make sense. Glasya Labolas is mentioned in the Lesser Key of Solomon or something something). They probably called it Doomtrain for us because the name is shorter (PS1 limitations orz).
