Doesn't it always form the weapon for whatever the job was that you started as?

Think I remember getting the Dragoon Spear while I was a Warrior before.

If it did, it got i wrong because I started as an archer. Otherwise, it'd form depending on the class/job you were.

Gonna have to do this as a Drk now and see what it gives me, lol

I'm fairly sure it's whatever class you're on as you start.
However it's class dependent, and the new jobs have no base class, so I assume sword and board is the genericest of generic adventurer looks.

I checked it in the inn, and you get the same thing as a DRK, so I'd assume the AST will also get it.

It also happens if you're a crafting or gathering class. XD

Every other class shows the appropriate weapon though. Even when I actually ran Prae as a scholar, it showed the book and I most definitely did not start as an Arcanist.

It does this for Rogue/Ninja as well.

Same.

All jobs not included in 2.0 just get the sword and board.

That's odd. Then again, I haven't watched that cutscene since before Heavensward so they might have changed it.

Similar situation happens when you watch that first scene of you floating at the start of the game, where the Ascian shows up and you change to your class/jobs AF armor for a few seconds - it defaults to Paladin for the three new jobs. Interestingly, that scene also defaults to Paladin for Ninja as well, or did when I had checked shortly after Heavensward launched.
