Here is a PvP related response from the live letter.

Hallelujah.
A big part of the removing gc's was so we can make premades with friends and fc friends.
Hurray then. \ [T] /
FINALLY!!!
Did they tell in the live letter anything about when it's going to happen?
Don't remove them completely, just make it so Grand Companies aren't such a draconian restriction;
If you queue in a party with mixed Grand Companies, the leaders Grand Company is what counts.
Have matches start when 72 people queue, regardless of Grand Companies. Simply prioritize putting players in the right Grand Company.
Screw lore, the only reason I really care about Grand Companies is that I like seeing the same people over and over. I like having a fairly static team, even if I wish 50% of the Twin Adders would never queue again...
If they are worried about fixed games in FL make a 8 man wolves Den. All the people who want a FC V FC matches can go there. And have a a GM who watches the matches to see if any win trading is going on. If you get caught win trading 3 times your PVP rank is reset to 0.
Well a big deal of this is because people wants to play with their friends in their teams regardless of what GC they are in with, aka, pre-mades.
So yep, its quite poor a statement.
Isn't overly hard? I'd like to see where one can make 72 ppl want to spend several hours trading a couple of wins. How freakin' boring. Most PvP'ers you know... want to pvp. If it's 'such a concern'... tell people you don't allow it in EULA. Report the cheaters... enforce 3 and 7 day bans on offenders... move on with life as the majority of the fan base is you know, Happy that que times are actually efficient for once.
What will be fun is more pre-mades and having good quality matches facing off on the field. Not scrub-a-thon vs a handful of pre-mades that would love nothing more for GC restrictions to remain so they can maintain their 70% win ratio.
As it stands only the larger servers have been fielding 2-3 team high quality premades. That is far more unfair then any potential fixed games.
Yeah, i can flame my enemies how weak they are. :D
Nothing poor about it, first it's a statement that everyone wanted some sort of acknowledgement on..and you got that. People forget that in these games you got to make decisions that prevent bad things from happening while also making sure things are productive. They pretty much said "Okay..so we understand, but this is what could happen..are you okay with that?" and people are at first until a few weeks pass by and their friends stop playing PVP. Then many of these people will be right back here complaining again about pre-mades like they have before. It's the circle of bitc......ahem..life..
Someone made a wonderful statement earlier about this and, to me, preserves both lore and the players who say "screw this"..make a mercenary selection they can join whatever they want.
I agree the GC restrictions aren't great but there are better ways.
I fully understand why you would want to play with your friends I mean this is what the MMO is all about. I agree you should be able to play with friends, but after the new smell goes away, how do you stop the past from repeating itself with the sudden constant complaints of pre-mades. It doesn't hurt some because they're gone, got their gear and left..but now we're back where we started with premades in wolves den. I'm not saying you're wrong just asking, what would you personally do to continue to make the game fun but not so dominating from a premade after the "I'm just here for eso." leave?
Then again, should we really punish those who love PVP so much they actually make parties, strategies and develop leadership for the other members?
Leigaon I actually hope premades create PvPish server communities. Right now everyone seems to be spread around. It somewhat prevents growth from a solid foundation. Again I don't know what kind of hamsters run there duty finder. But I have recently felt an unrestricted option would have been an option.
NO GC's, NO Ilvl, and NO complaints allowed. A little warning pop when you que and let the community sort itself out. If we have enough pvpers (as I believe) we would be able to support that option. Then the randoms can chose between the two. But we all know they will que into that one if the pops are less then 10 mins compared to 30.
My biggets fear is they are going to hide some sort of balancing mechanism into the duty finder. It does not work well do not add other stuff onto it.
Hmm... well, my previous comment was meant to be done as a bystander, but having so many "you's" on this answer makes it look like an attack (which I bet wasn't meant like that).
Had to read your comment 5 times, the question is a bit confusing, damn it :/
Well, about the pre-mades, for starters GC restriction is by no means a way to impede them... people simply often doesn't coincide in the same GC... but that doesn't mean there are no pre-mades out there out of people from a single GC...
Pre-mades are a given... so long the PvP mode allows for parties to queue together...
To me the answer sounded kinda weak because it gave me the impresion that SE was giving more credit to impede pre-mades in FL than reducing the queue times. Like: "Since we don't want pre-mades to happen, lets make it so the game doesn't happen at all" (I am exagerating).
However, just to answer your question, allow me to throw some ridiculous ideas for the sake of never happening...
Lets make it totally random... all that matters is that there are 72 players queing for PvP after all... just break any party queing in and send each player to a different GC side regardless of which one you are allied in... if one friend of yours happens to be there, cool, if not... well, not so much.
Its a bit contradictory, I gotta admit, but if SE's fear for Pre-mades on FL is real and we want to adress the Players concern about PvP Queues, this is the only way I see to get both side's points solved. Of course this would kill SE's Lore and the Friends with friends idea from the Players.
Another solution that comes to mind is that the "losing team" gets a "boost" of some kind. An echo, which can fade off once they are no longer the losing team. This way Pre-mades can exists but they have to be wary of the individual power of their contenders since they could beat their team effort with raw wild power. Bringing about a more balanced play (in a perfect world). For example, in Mario Kart, the kind of items you could get when you were on the 1st place were by far much weaker than those you could get on the 8th.
For both of these ideas, please don't take me too seriusly.
They are saying about win-trades.

"We know there are opinions that we should [priotize queue time] over lore; but our main fear is the deterioration of the players' morals, such as rampant of win-trades in PvP matches. We are examining the posibility of the removal of the GC restriction[, though]."

To be honest I don't like to see trade parties but if I have to decide among get a problably all way faster que + start forming a serious pvp playerbase and block the traders from achieving a ADS mount and few unuseful gear,
let them have what the hell they want, give them even a faster way to achieve it, like a matchable content so they won't sick who want to play pvp.
