One positive note about crafting...

I know a lot of folks are upset about the drastic changes, but it seems like they matched the original experience points formula to the current one.

Before, your SP gains could fluctuate as much as 150% from one synth to the next...now they seem to be relatively consistent, as was the way with most experience points gains.

For ex: I've been getting between 408-417XP per synth, vs. before it would have been something like 323-525.

-in case you boughd as 41 alche a 47 alembic (100k) instead of a 42 alembic (3m !) ,you are screwed with 27% of the former stats ,because of 1 lvl. fantastic ,should have keep'd my 37

-in case you have a crafter's outfit fitting with lots control and stuff in the 40sh to support your crafting classes,you are totaly screwed now, if you think about doing one of your 20 or 30 skills

-in case you like to do some crafttasks, (leves) lets say 40 gsm, you do it once ,and its gone, it doesn't show up again, but well its now up as 20sh (useless) , no matter how many points you have,no matter if they wrote you can redo it right away,yes i could..but as 20sh. and no other 40sh up, (focused uldah,but not even grid/ll)

exp-wise no change on the grinding parts, at least not much to note in the 40sh ranges(gsm old/new recipes,alche)

i could go on,with my hubby and his woody/bsm/alche/weaver outfits,but i guess you see where its heading

for now,it looks horrible ,and it wont change soon. would take a while to gather resources to rebuild the whole outfits (dew thread as crafter focused? great idea)

or how the fishing rod 47 could be worse then the 20sh for 38 fisher is beyond me.

I crafted last night with no problems? Not everyone is the same I guess.

I don't craft, but I've heard nothing but positives from my LS mates who do.

Oh no! God forbid they should start to actually enforce optimal rank! It's the end of the damn world I tell ya, how dare SE penalize people for wearing gear above their actual rank?!

maybe iam to stubborn to understand my own tools, or if logic is not requested (would fit for some players i guess)

i use a hammer for quite some time(lvl 1), i use then a better hammer(30sh),also quite some time,..and so on
but then iam to stubborn to use a bit better hammer (6 lvl higher then skill) ? gosh, i cant wait to get any reasonable explanation why i shouldn't be able to use it at least the same good as the former one . even less then good as the 14lvl lower one. we don't talk about bit less bonus,we talk about half of it
math-wise 14 lvl lower= better bonus,then 6 lvl higher ..
fits for rods/hammer/alembics etc

or enlight me, why the seneschal coatee lost all bonus, (not outlvld,not changed,didnt even get dated)

A hammer that is 6 levels higher means that you are using a hammer that is intended for someone with a higher skill level than you. You don't have the skills to use it to its full potential yet, so of course your results won't be as good.

sorry,if i hand you a iron hammer,and say (use it for a couple weeks,then a steel hammer,then a steel/fiber hammer) do you really think,you hit your thumb more often with the steel/fiber then with the iron? its not logic.

basically, 14 lvl lower item .. gives more bonus,then 6 lvl higher (that's one too high) , i guess fanboys cannot even think with reason. (small hint, 14 lvl more far then 6) ..if you still don't get it,maybe you find a "math for beginners-tut" somewhere.

Yeah... 6 levels ABOVE your level, I dont see the problem, ¿You want realism? You are using a tool that you dont fully understand how to use until you gain 6 more levels, of course it gives less stats that something you already know how to use.

And yes, characters are retarded and dont know how to use hammers, WELCOME TO A VIDEOGAME

There were two sides arguing a while ago (vague, I know). One side said we need required ranks, the other said we just need harsher penalties for being below recommended rank. Guess which side just won?

fine,i give up on that point,some people cant see reason (no wonder this games don't move forward,if logic or criticism is forbidden or get bashed) ,last words on that.. 10% less would be fine, 70% less are not. (logic left the game)

but the other points, the armors..the leves.. not even one disagree ? atleast try it out, and no,the new products dont give more exp,even with less steps,more pre-work needed.

if thats the way to move forward,then i have my doubts about the alche change..

Personally, i'd have rather stuck with optimal vs. required, but I guess that we did indeed lose the battle. Now, you're going to have 75% of players in the same gear at higher levels due to min-maxing.

On the other hand, it brings crafting profit out of the gutter. Since you've got required stapled onto every piece of new gear, there's going to be a wider variety of equipment for all levels, which potentially spells profit for a crafter no matter what rank (minus the shafted alchemists and culinarians for the time being).

It's a 50/50 situation overall. I just wish, that for once, SE would take a step forward without another one back.

Say we had rank requirements on everything instead, you wouldn't even be allowed to hold a hammer that's higher than your rank. Does that make any logical sense? Not really but tons of games do it and no one cares because there is a reason for it.

With your logic, if you had your way every crafter would just be running around with the highest rank equipment because logically it should give you the best bonuses. At that point there's literally no reason to have the level 1-49 equipment around. Thankfully you're not a game developer.

instead of 70% less. whats less then the 2nd or 3rd hammer.

and no, i don't think there will be much better business, there is one set,that's going to sell well.
Velveteen Doublet Vest, and so on, its basically for all classes, (mid-lvl range) so,great, from a whole bunch of flavors (armors) we are going to have one set, to be used then another in the higher 40sh, i don't think this is what some of the crafters have in mind,and yes i liked to craft,especially jewelery and sold some often, but even that is limited (and kinda useless,check the items now,instead of giving them good bonus,they lost quite a bit)

Like here...I have no idea what you're trying to say. You think you should get a stat reduction of 10% for gear that you are 6 levels below the optimal level instead of 70%? And even with that stat reduction the gear should still be better than something that you are 2-3 levels above optimal for?

Accessory stats are going to be balanced in 1.20. It was already discussed.

Sometimes I think people here could complain about anything at all and feel completely justified.

Though to be fair you could probably say that about most of the internet, just feels worse here somehow.
