/fcam not working as intended?

...And a suggestion.

So, I have noticed that /fcam is Client only, NOT server-side. Not sure if this was intentional.

If it was, consider changing it so that it is server-side.

Why?
Using /fcam as a way to express yourself when Roleplaying could have a HUGE effect. So, please consider forwarding this to the dev team, asking them to make /fcam something not only the player can see, but others as well.

would be nice if other people could see it. after i explored this command i was a little sad myself that i am the only one who can see it : /

i think /fcam is only intended to use it for screenshots.

Yeah, I know a lot of people, A LOT of them that are equally disappointed. Some thought that it WAS server-side, but it is client, but it really shouldn't be - it should be server-side. There's no good reason to why it shouldn't be.

I'm wondering what this does, actually.

Here I was wondering why being local would be bad, even in RP people you play with are fairly close. But could it be you mean it's client side, instead of server side. That term makes a bit more sense.

I'll take your advice and change it to Client and Server which is what I mean. Also, yes, people get close, but a simple movement of the head can say so VERY much.

Yush, and get your dilemma. What I meant is, when talking about local, I thought it meant something like /say range which would have been well enough for the motions too. But of course if they only show on my own client, it is an issue.

(Currently, other players see you turn your head towards anything you hard-target, or straight ahead if nothing is hard-targeted, but it ignores both soft-targeting and the /fcam command, both of which affect where you yourself see your character looking.)

Exactly. There simply is no reason for why it should not and cannot be.

There actually is a reason it is clientside.

I would imagine the server doesn't actually send you the head orientation of everyone around you. Rather, the server just tells your client what they are targeting, and your client then tilts their head towards this target.

With /fcam there is no target, so making it visible to other players would require adding head pitch, yaw, and roll to the data sent from the server to each client. In an MMO even the smallest changes to network data like this are an extremely big deal, so it is unlikely they're going to add this much extra data for such a small feature.
