Should I do A Relic Reborn? Or is it a waste of time now? Kinda odd they load you up with your level 50 gear but leave a weapon out. Thanks in advance.

You can do it for the glamour of it, but otherwise it's a waste...I think you get better weapon a level 54.
If you want it for glamor, go for it. Otherwise pick up an Ironworks weapon at Mor Dhona. Grab that, upgrade it, and it will keep you through Sohm Al.
Just buy an i115 weapon from the vendor in Foundation. It'll be better than the first few stages of your relic. There's a lot of work between the base relic and Nexus (i115), and it'll get replaced in Dusk Vigil anyway. Zeta weapons are viable until 56-57ish or so, but the amount of work that goes into it for the return is pretty unreal.
The only reasons to have a Zeta at this point is if you already had one or if you really want the glamour.
Ironworks weapons unfortunately take a tomestone from FCoB or the weekly quest for CT/ST/WoD.
If you want fast, just get an i115 vendor weapon (or a HQ version from the market board if you like).
I'd go ahead and do it at least for the base weapon - it doesn't take that long at all for the ilvl 90 and I think some of the HM fights are required for later story progression so you might as well knock them out while doing the weapon.
I leveled Ninja from scratch not too long ago and just skipped it completely, like others said you can just buy a weapon from vendor in Foundation.
Well, I still have to do the MSQ up to where I can get into Foundation. Will something just off the AH or a level 45 weapon work until then?
Edit: I checked out the Ironworks and no weapons were visible; On top of that, I have no idea what that currency is or how much grinding that would take, heh.
Hitting 50 in this game is really odd right now.
I would recommend doing the first steps just for the glamour, since the NIN relic looks better than the AF2 in my opinion. Stopping right after the Atma part should be enough.
This is just my opinion, but I would say do the relic quest till you get the i90 weapon. Reason being, this will unlock Amdapor Keep, Chimera, Hydra, and Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan hard mode. You'll need these for trial roulettes eventually and it's also just good experience for later on in the game. You can still buy a better weapon even before you do all that, I'm talking strictly for unlocking content. Just my opinion.
I agree with most here...do the Relic quest and get to the 90 weapon and stop there and then buy a weapon until you can get yours to drop in the dungeons.
I was going to say that myself. But yeah, not unlocking the Hard mode of primal duels means you also can't do Extreme modes of those duels. This means no chance at pony raids and lots of people do those. Thanks, Garotte for reminding everyone on how important ALL of the game's content is.
You will get full sets of ilvl 90 and ilvl 110 gear from the MSQ between the original ending and Heavensward, including weapons. You really don't need to worry about gearing up on your first job.
If you're a relatively well established player it's pretty easy; I'm maxed on poetics tomestones so I'm picking it up for my Scholar. You turn in poetics tomestones for Rowena's tokens of poetics in Mor Dhona (A-named girl on the right at the counter). You buy the ironworks weapons from the A-named girl on the left (third option down on her menu) but you also need an encrypted tomestone, which you get from the weekly repeatable quest that you can unlock after you've done all three Crystal Tower raids.
Otherwise yeah...as others have recommended, you can pick up the relic weapon and get it far enough to unlock the primals and get the Zenith version which will keep you just fine until you can buy/quest/get a drop for a 110+ weapon.
Use your grand company seals for a quick i55 wep, then start the quest for your relic. Use the i55 for the msq and relic quests, until you get your i80 at least, by then you should have enough poetics to upgrade to your i90 or buy the i120. Either of those should carry you through to heavensward. I wouldn't go past the i90 stage unless you really want the glam
I went for my Zeta simply because, at the time, I liked to do all content except crafting. I'm a dungeon-lover, and since Relics and Zodiacs are dungeon-oriented, it was something to keep me busy since I have no plans to raid for a while (I have yet to clear T13, having only cleared T12 once).
The game will hand you the i90 Primal weapon just from quests. And then shortly after, it will give you the i110 one. I wouldn't bother with the relic quest unless you want the glamour.
Will the 3.1 relic quest start off on its own or will the previous relic chain be a requirement?
