Who gets more player commendations that a Lala tank?

On my old account, my Hyur highlander tank didn't get a fourth of the player commendations :(

Well armored female characters.

Or a very witty/amusing cosplay.

A male Miqo'te who uses /joy

I kid you not, out of my almost 600 comm's, 400 are probably just from /joy. People freak over that ear wiggle.

I got 5 commendations from a Steps of Faith I mid-joined as a Tank once lol.

i crack drg jokes nonstop, class/job n/a, up to my neck in commendations.

2300+ commendations
catgirl, as healer always in CS, as tank always speed runs
Wondering why people cry over SR here on forums. When I do speed run I always get commend or two.

Puns and one liners after boss fights does the trick. I honestly do them anyway since I'm a dork but I noticed it gets me them.

some from DPS job that doing DPS well.

some from Healer job that resurrect with macro (But mostly from healing + dps well)

some from Tank job that not doing derp job.

Femroes get all my comms, if there are none, I usually give it to dps since we get no comm love :P

Tanks never ever get them from me...nope...just cant, they are catered too enough with mounts.

But any other player that is friendly..or at least says "hello" gets mine...if none fall into that category, or if silent the entire run, then nobody gets one.

I actually get a lot of commendations on my Mogadyn. This is my glamor for my Roe Tank and this setup, with my Mog axe, in combination with a pleasant and fun attitude, i get commendations quite frequently. Would you give me a commendation?

I give them to players that do stuff above the standard. Think of healers that heal and dps, tanks that dont mind doing extra chambers for a dps who needed the exp, dps players who do their best etc. If someone is a social person, then they tend to get a commendation aswell, regardless of their preformance.


Race+glamour wise, I give them to cool looking characters or funny ones like the picture of the mog roe above.

I tend to just give my commendations to one of the dps, unless they did something particularly egregious. I get the feeling they don't receive as many, so I guess it's my attempt at balancing things out. xD

I give a commendations to no one (cuz no other mmo I played have that system. I don't really see the point of it except to get trophy - achievement like a single player console video game) except I get bonus (new player or alt) they can get my commendations or ppl that are not jerks to the new player we got in DF pt.

It's kinda funny to see this coming from someone with white mage/conjurer listed as their main class. Gets free unicorn just for hitting level 30. Thinks tanks are "catered to" having to run 200 duties.

@OP - I just greet the party whenever I get into a dungeon, be generally friendly and social, and give instructions if needed no matter what my role is. No shortage of comms here! Goin for that parade chocobo. ^^

I've always mained a WHM, so I probably tend to get more points as it is, but they really did increase with this outfit :X

I've gotten over 3,600 commendations for healing people.

People apparently like to not die.

I get a lot as Bard just for using Foe Requiem....

I will almost always give my comm to a bard that is using songs. It's really amazing how many bards don't use any.

I give my commendations to anybody who doesn't ask for them.

It seems I am the only fool here that gives commendations to the player who seems on balance to deserve it the most (assuming that they stick around long enough after the run to receive it).

This. Any bard that uses their songs appropriately gets a commendation from me.

I tend to get a lot as a healer, but I heal and weave dps in, so maybe that's appreciated--I don't know. I'm just friendly and always give 100% - seems to do the trick.

1438 coms on my lala healer vs 544 coms on my tank dragon :P

I only give my coms to the lala that allows me to use them as my personal chew toy during the run. Or others that put up with my cardrnghatesmeto hell rants on ast.

What do commendations do again? I have over 400 and I couldn't care less about them.

Talk to Jonathas in Gridania near Apkallu Falls, he gives you rewards depending on your achievements.

Sometime around patch 2.3, started the equalized commendation thumb rule:

In light parties: Tanks exchange with Healers, and DPSs exchange between them.

In full parties: Tanks exchange commends, same with healers, and luckily DPSs.

That's a thumb rule most runs are done, with exception of one member being mean/rude/bad.. Another will get the vote.

Elitist players see that commending non-elitist players hurt their pride.

Edit: I got my Parade Chocobo just yesterday, making me the 70th person to have it (according to a statistics webpage).

I tend to get a lot and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm a FemRoe.
