I've yet to do the new event, but basing it off every other event XIV's done, probably not :/ They really don't seem to put a lot of effort into the events (talk to npc, do a fate, done)
Nope. it's nice to see that people who enjoy crafting or gathering can do those to get their tokens instead though.
You’re probably right. I can’t even go to the Costa for long because my PS4 freezes up because of all the activity so I don’t stay longer than I have to. It would have been nice to think that we had to do something more than cook a few dishes of food in exchange for tokens for a bunch of swimwear though. :/ Especially since we can't actually swim in game...
Ah well! Thanks for the answers!:D
I didn't even realize the event had started =o
Must have not been here last year then, b/c there were actual mini games and not "just spam FATE done". This year, it's different (all 3 times they've done it in 2.0 they've all 3 been different events actually.)
This year you get to choose your poison. You can do crafting to earn your tokens, you can go fishing on FSH, or you can do 1 of the several event FATEs that spawn in the Costa del Sol area that are just for the event. It's different, not my personal fave (last years was b/c I LOVE MINI GAMES!) but this one is MUCH better than our first one back at 2.0 launch. I really love the idea of having a choice in any of the disciplines to earn your tokens! ^.^ Neat idea!
I personally was extremely disappoint by this year event :/ I know they are usually completed pretty fast but I was done with this one in not even 5 minutes, and I'm not one to rush things. Like really, turning an event in a simple craft/gather turn in? Doing a few lvl 5 craft is surely not my idea of fun or summery. Yes I'm glad it's not one of those where you have to make sure to log in everyday for a week to get all the items but this one here is lazy to the max.
tldr was hyped for some summery goodness, ended up doing craft turn-ins as if i didn't had enough of those since 3.0
I've noticed a lot of things lately since 3.0 have been super lazy :/
-Au ra horns clip through everything, like they're just there, instead of inside a hood etc.
-2 dungeons and 4 bosses.
-This event.
-The drg eso head's visor doesn't even move like pretty much every other visor does, it just appears/vanishes.
- Most gordian sets are just recolored for jobs and none of them /visor.
The list goes on too...
Handing in battered fish for tokens is tedious, even with spamming 0
It's nice for leveling from level 30.
I wish there will be a return of the 1.x versions again.
FATEs without killing, but with /emotes
These events we all know are just a slight diversion from what we do daily and get us some cute items or gear...it is okay I guess. I wish they would be a little more in depth though and have us put some time into it and make the reward a little more useful.
eh, the seasonal events are hit and miss. Moonfire last year was great with multiple mini-games. The year before it was just a single fate. The hatching tide FATE this year was fun, since we played as spriggans, as was the egg race the year before. The last new year's event was sleep inducing, pun intended, and valentine's day 2015 was an interesting idea (finding people based on clues) but too short and simple.
I think the best events are either fun mini-games that you can repeat for party favors, like moonfire last year, or a FATE that spawns in multiple zones at multiple level ranges, such as Christmas 2013.
For the new fates to only appear in one small area of one zone, and only at level 30, is rather underwhelming. Fate running in every other zone remains unchanged, and if you aren't leveling a class at lv 30, then the new fates won't mean much.
I'm sad that I have to grind my alts all up to 30 to even participate... So you can't even start events or turn in anything unless you're 30 first. I still habe at least 10 levels to go on multiple alts because sitting at 15 was fine for all the other events...
I've got the summer evening trunks and the green yukata set, so I'm happy... I think I'll be spending the rest stocking up on fireworks. Especially pinwheels. I love those things.
For an event that lasts three weeks, though, I did expect a bit more. And it seems like crafters have it best here. I got twice the faire vouchers spending 10 minutes making fish than I did in 20 minutes of FATES because they were popping slowly.
But... they don't have holes at all lol Look at the gear, it's literally just through the helmet/hood. And yes, they are clipping >_> Look at the lvl 53 hoods, depending on your horns, it clips coming out and then clips going back on by the tips.
Holes could be an excuse, if it wasn't for the fact that our horns aren't straight and narrow >_> Ask yourself, if you can't see the hole, how are you getting some of these giant and curved horns through them? Because below the horns, theres no detail or anything on helmets or hoods that show it sliding over the top of them. Take your horns for example. Tell me, how exactly do you get them through holes that are supposedly so small, you can only fit the part in closest to your head? It's just another excuse for SE to be lazy in HW
