No ability queue horrid just for controller users?

First off gotta say, love the changes with this patch and actual difficulty increase to mobs!

But does anyone have any idea why the ability queue was removed? Fights just don't seem as smoothed and more time is spent looking at action bar... Any gamepad users having this problem? Keyboarders even?

Chaining heals and nukes especially is really "off" >.> Hate to bring it up but gameplay feeling more like WoW or Aion style button mashing. Not trying to set up a QQ thread, but this small change is greatly effecting me and a few of my friends playing the game o.O Would like to hear what other people are thinking of it and how things are going! :)

The only issue I have is it's harder to use both Jarring Strike and Haymaker after every evade. I'm sure once I get the timing down for the Haymaker after my Jarring Strike it'll be business as usual, keyboard player and I use macros. I don't even swap rows.

its kind of annoying having the delay between stygian spikes and Stone skin. i was normally able to do things quite quickly, now i have to wait for all of the animations to finish just to cast my next spell or ability.

chaining spells and abilities is a lot more annoying now.

It's pretty clunky right now, not sure why they changed it.

I'm just hoping the server fixes in the future will do away with the problem entirely. We shouldn't have been queing up anything to begin with, we just got used to it because of the server lag.

Ya exactly... chaining and buffing are so horrid now xD Some abilities do in fact chain nice together but most are a complete mess, graphics smoothing is much better now with new patch and fps limiter but no queue's is just killing gameplay for me and not worth the trade off haha :S Funny how something so small can make a huge difference >.<

I imagine it's part of the plans to make actions not make you wait for the animations to finish before using them. But why they did this prior to fixing that issue I'm not sure.

Personally love watching the animations, hopefully that's not the case^^Too many mmo's don't really care about the animations department sadly >.< The super speedy animations look ridiculous for this patch, like the unsheathing and some auto attacks lol Hoping they tone stuff like that down in the future. Either way, UI and battle feels extra clunky and really off now with no queuing o.O

Yeah I noticed it too. No more queuing for spells and abilities >< it really helped a lot trying to get spells off quickly. Now I have to highlight the action for awhile and make sure it goes off right :/

I've gotten stuck just not being able to use some abilities(in this case Second Wind). While watching animations is cool and all, I'd rather not die than watch them because well death isn't fun. Glad I'm not the only one who's getting this awkwardness

It took some getting used to but it's not bad. It should work like this though, the animation actually finishing. I hated how the animations never finished and you could intereput them so much.

I wish we could cancel Raise though...

I love the patch but this change really makes combat clunky, it was so much smoother before

I really like the old style queue compared to this new one. If you really wanna see the animation then why not have the old queue system and make the animation finish before the next ability is used.

think its time to go back or reduce animation by quater!

Bring back the queue!

if theyre going to remove the que then they need to remove sub target and allow us to activate our next actions prior to the completion of the previous spells animations.
this would totally make up for the delay.

That would require them to insert a actual logical fix into the game :S LoL Gameplay is just so horrid and clunky with this patch, can't get over it o.o !!! Also noticed something else, along with all the dmg buffs when hittin mobs from side and back now outta the game, not being able to really break pieces on mobs anymore, battle regimens suspended, you also can't seem to avoid mob specials anymore... cone or aoe... they always hit no matter what range or direction ur at it seems... plus don't even get me started on the insane tp drop the SECOND battle ends and the 30 second or less respawn on alot of mobs O.O

Point is... anyone else feel like 1.19 patch was a HUUUUUUGE step back in combat? Realize they aren't done the changes but they pretty much wiped out everything in the battle system in one go and made it so ... *bleh* ... I'm honestly trying my hardest to love this patch, but can't honestly tell you how turned off I am with these changes...

Yeah, no queuing sucks. Makes fighting seem less fluid.

Another thread on the same topic. Other people miss the old queuing system, too.

Ya seen lots of topics on this... Noticed the clunkiness right away as soon as patch 1.19 was up. Definately needs a toggle added at the very least, most casters and controller users can't stand it. Most my friends I play with can't stand the game now like me, we're all huge mmo players all around. This change was very unfitting of the game, especially at its current stage!

Ya, I too have found that I hit the ability and because the other ability hasn't finished that I don't "cure" or whatever when I'm expecting it to go off right after the ability finishes.

Perhaps it's just something to get used too... But I do miss the ability to queue.

No ability queue would be fine if abilities fired when the button was pressed (like every other MMO on the planet), but it doesn't. Every spell is by default a <st> macro and it's a pain in the ass to click button -> click target when there is no queue, since you have to press not only one button, but two.

I'd like it if they just removed the need to select a target and leave that to <st> macros. Just make spells fire on the targetted target no matter what, unless the player switches target. The only thing affected by this would be the aoe toggle but they could just turn the aoe toggle into something similar to the old BR toggle.

I have heard some casters complain about it, but doesn't really effect my melee at all.

This is the one main issue I have with this patch; apart from this the patch as been great though I find myself forced to now play a Disipline of War because I cannot abilitiy queue. As I currently play a Con I have often queued like crazy in order to get the most of the time spent attacking the enemy and to hopefully prevail, now that the queue system is gone I register my two spells and wait for one to go off before queueing the third.

No spells end up being cast at all and I am here thinking I am simply lagging and that the second spell is casting, oh wait no its not and now i'm dead, yet again. You try to use an ability just as the spell animation finishes? Take a coin toss: No luck, still not able to cast or reveal in the fact that you miraclously timed it correctly.

This is also extremely annoying with the magic cancellation, if you do not realise that your spell that you timed correctly is casting and you press it again and thus cancel the spell you are granted further annoyance.

It would be nice to have an option to enable or disable the ability queue to appease both sides of the coin.

Agreed, hopefully combat will be a lot more fluid when they fix the server issues, also agree that spell confirmation needs to go as it just makes things twice more clunky as it needs to be. (heals, buffs and raise excluded of course)

Whats Nushidorei said about not knowing if you are laggin or the spell just didn't work is also a pain and has killed me a couple times also.
