Is this a troll post? Are you for real?? Is this your first job or do you totally not know how to play the job?
First time healing class in ANY mmo's out there atm
on ps4: first bar(16 skills), only heals. some will be empty at that level, but thats fine. second bar: all dps. The rest on the third bar: protect etc
though this has little meaning, just use whatever you want and how it's comfortable for you personally.
Cheer's :)
Sch skills: Physick (heal), Aetherflow, Energy Drain (MP recovery skill), Virus (weakens the target to blunt a hard incoming hit), Resurrection (revives person hugging the floor), Eye for an Eye (puts a buff on someone that'll transfer to the person beating up on him), Rouse, Adlo (smaller heal with a shield), succor (AOE heal that applies a shield to the group), and leches (poison cure). I also have a macro of my fairies heal 'embrace' so I manage that easier.
Cross class abilities: swiftcast, protect, stoneskin, and Cleric Stance. The rest are up to you.
Yeah, this basically covers two bars for me so I have the direct healing spells like Aldo on my first bar and much lesser used skills/buffs like swiftcast, Resurrection, virus, etc. on the top one. Then the fairy bar is above that. 3 bars in total.
as a sch? Summon, Bio, Bio2, Miasma, Bane &cleric stance is nuff
Don't have stoneskin (level 15 cnj) ....
You keep making topics like this about so many trivial things which are mostly, if not completely, obvious. How in the world have you been here since 2011 and not learned anything?
Don't be too quick to replace ruin 1 with ruin 2, it's most certainly not a straight upgrade. In short, Ruin 1 offers more efficiency, Ruin 2 offers mobility at the expense of being twice as expensive to cast. The blind effect is of minor value if you don't have a PLD but isn't really enough to make or break the spell.
You should have all of your abilities on your hotbars tbh =P

cant tell if this is a troll or not, all pet skills for the fairy you're currently using(Swap out if switching fairies)
miasma, bio, bio II, resurrection, swiftcast, protect, succor, leeches, physick, ruin, aldoquium, aetherflow, energy drain, rouse bane, virus, eye for an eye, stoneskin, celric stance, aero possibly
All of them. There isn't a single skill on scholar that you shouldn't use on a regular basis (though miasma 2 and Ruin 1 after you get Broil is arguable).
Get working on that conjurer then! And you need to get Swiftcast too. That's Thau level 26. Those two really are a must. If you want to be a decent healer, you gotta get them up. When you start healing with a buddy in the end game stuff, you'll really notice (and wince) when your fellow healer doesn't have Swiftcast or SS. It's only when your fellow healer has to spend 10 minutes casting the rev spell that you'll appreciate swiftcast and SS is awesome for when your tank is taking big hits or you have a decent party who stays out of damage for the most part but you have a stupid tank you have to focus on. You can SS your party and it'll be a while before they wear through them.
I already have THM 26 and i don't really need stoneskin (that for WHM job) so ill stick to protect and swiftcast
You should be using all your tools as a SCH. I main SCH and I find it uses almost double the number of hotbar slots as any other job. My cross class skills are: Cleric Stance, Protect, Swiftcast, Aero and Stoneskin. (All of these are important, especially now Graniteskin is gone.)
Also, quick tip: learn to use your pet in Obey, and never ever ever macro Embrace to any of your SCH skills, it is just bad.
I used to say that too out of pure laziness because lvling CNJ bored me to tears.
Then I got Stoneskin and I was like "Well crap This is pretty nice."
Also, if you plan to lvl AST, Lightspeed+Stoneskin just feels like cheating.
Its useful top get no matter what healer you want to run, and it stacks with Galvanize I believe.
Am I wrong?
because if you need physick + embrace you can press 2 buttons to do it, and having them separate is incredibly useful for splitting healing and allowing you to continue putting out heals while DPSing. Having 2 separate GCDs is one of SCHs biggest strengths, and by tying your faerie's GCD to yours you remove this entirely.
If all you intend to do with your SCH is dungeon running and other casual stuff, then fair enough, but progression raiding practically requires you to have full control of your Faerie.
This is PS4, (WHM) empty slot is for lv60 spell once I find it.
Edit: I use the R2 + L2 / L2 + R2 setup also and the horizontal bar at bottom so I can see any CD's when they are off cool down.

Hotbar three not pictured I use for nukes.
Edit have taken protect off one and left on 2 since I was having confusion from going between this and AST.
as pointed out by others, it's more useful to micro-manage Eos/Selene instead of binding Embrace to a spell.
On a side note, I wonder if Stoneskin is actually viable on SCH (except for pre-fight buffing). In the end one always fares better with an Adloq(especially on crit) .. or am I mistaken?
Pre-fight and any time you have downtime. Lots of bosses have charges or oddball mechanics where damage pauses because a Stoneskin and Adlo is better than a Stoneskin or Adlo. If you're really splitting hairs, if HP is topped off, you ask does your Adlo heal for 5%/10% of their HP? But usually, unless it's downtime, I find they're always going to need HP topped off too.
TBH the biggest issue with macroing embrace onto your bread and butter abilities is simply that macros don't queue correctly and thus are always a fraction slower than simply using an ability directly.
I used to use macro embraces (along with a direct embrace key for when the need arose) to great effect putting out huge HPS numbers but no matter how hard I tried, I was always behind where I wanted to be on DPS. The real eye opener for me was grouping up with a friend, stripping all gear to ensure our stats were precisely the same and simply chain casting physic for a minute, myself using my macros and them using a direct hotkey. Within 5 casts it was plainly visible that they were casting quicker and whilst I forget the exact numbers, they were roughly getting an extra cast off per minute or thereabouts. That's pretty huge.
Now I use a bank of G-Keys on my keyboard to control where my embrace is going whilst using traditional F-Key targeting and plain hotkeys for my own personal healing. It took a little practice and I must admit, I wish I made the change a few weeks before Savage hit but eh, it's paid off massively now I'm comfortable with it with very respectable DPS/HPS figures all round <3
