Oops... there goes job changing macros

I just logged in and have started trying things out. It's not the end of the world, but I just discovered that my job changing macros no longer work. When you use a macro to set a weapon, you get: "Unable to equip. Class rank or item affinity requirements are not met." You now have to set it manually. Hopefully that's fixed soon...

And yes, I checked to make sure the item name hasn't changed.

No, I'm a level 50 Lancer, and my macro for equipping the Champion's Lance gives that error.

Also, I just updated my macros to equip a "Dated Iron Raising Hammer" for my ARM, but that also fails. All other gear slots equip fine once the names are updated.

Have you changed to weapon/tool macro to:

/equip mh "weapon/tool"
/equip oh "offhand"

??? (found the above in the patch notes btw)

In not in yet, but I recall reading equipping main and sub have changed, from /equip main XXX to /mh XXX, and /equip sub YYY to /oh YYY. Hopefully, that works.

I'm having this problem now. I use /equip mh "Whatever" (and other item slot macros) and I get either "Unable to equip. Level or item affinity requirements are not met." or "Unable to equip. That slot is already being used."

Try relogging. If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to provide more information (what are you trying to equip, what is in your macro, etc.)

That doesn't work. This is my first time making class swap macros and the only two I've tried to set up so far are:

/equip mh "Budding Maple Want"
/wait 1
/equip hands "Leather Mitts"
/wait 1
/equip feet "Leather Leggings"

and:

/equip mh "Pickaxe"
/wait 1
/equip oh "Weathered Sledgehammer"

The mitts and leggings work only if I am already set to a Discipline of War or Magic class (as they both require that), but all the main and off hand things I try give me one of those two errors I mentioned. I've scoured the internets and can't find what I'm doing wrong. >.< It's like the game doesn't realize I'm trying to equip gear to switch classes... it just thinks I'm trying to equip gear incompatible with my current class. =/ Is there a newer way to switch classes that I've not found? lol. (Oh, and manually switching mh gear works normally... but I need macros! lol)

Some marco issues i was discussing with an LS mate that folks seem to have alot:

When typing the name of the item, Always capitalize the first letter. Example

/equip head "Serpent Sargeant's Coif"
If it has a color Capitalize the Color withing the brackets. Example
/equip head "Beret Of Tom Foolery (Black)"

Ear, wrist despite being a single item, are plurals:

/equip ears
/equip wrists

For ring slots. capitalize the R or L add a period and then finger with no spaces. Example

/equip R.finger
/equip L.finger

If your equipping job specific items makesure to have /job added after weapon change. I personally add a wait for 2 seconds for the job stone equip and animation not bork the rest of my macro. Example

/equip mh "Spear Of Crazy Killemall"
/job
/wait 2
/equip.....ect

Also because of how the UI menus work currently. I recommend when making a gear macro, remove everything, equip each piece you want in a quiet place (your Inn room works well) so you can have easy reference of spelling etc so you won't be getting pissed it doesnt work becuase your E is an A ^^

Also a neat trick i discovered accidentally. If you write an equip macro with just the 2 quotes and nothing between them, it de-equips whatever is there. (havent tried it specificlly, but it rips my neck off every time in my one macro.

/equip neck ""

If you make a full macro for slots it could be a quick way to trip off gear for whatever reason you may need to do so ^^

Those are the usual macro killing culprits. The only one that seems to give me trouble now is off hand and sheidls. not sure why it sometimes refuses to work but i probably messed it up somehow ^^

You don't need the wait between each piece of gear, but other than that, I can't tell what you're doing wrong unless you really did spell it in-game as Budding Maple Want instead of Wand.

lmao i did. XD but the pickaxe and sledgehammer still dont work.

There is no such thing as a "Pickaxe"; it should be "Weathered Pickaxe" or something. Once you get the pickaxe working, the sledgehammer should work.
