Can we save him?

Dear Square-Enix,

Attached below you will come to notice an image that I have snapped of quite the predicament of a fellow Knight. This marks the 47th Earth day or in a more familiar day count--940 Eorzean days since Ishgard has opened its doors to myself and my fellow adventurers and as such--whether the sudden noise from the rickety main gate opening or the thud of a dying dragon knocked this man off his balance and over the edge--he has been there ever since, dangling. And so dear Square-Enix I come to the meat and bread of my inquiry-and while'st I am humbled by this Knight's devotion to cling for dear life--I ask, why can I not save this poor soul? I am a vanquisher of demons, defiler of dragons, and queller of immortals, quite frankly I am the Warrior of Light. Please hear this humble request to offer a helping hand to this poor-yet dedicated to life--soul.

P.S. If naught avails, lest we at least be able to target and cheer on this fellow knight as a sign of good luck and camaraderie?

i would like to know this as well. i feel worried about the fact there is naught i can do to keep him from falling to his demise or allow him to hoist himself up onto the scaffolding.

I've also seen the same guy down below, sitting on his butt in a pile of snow.

If this game is anything to go by, he can survive the drop as long as he doesn't have aggro.

I would, but DF has me OOM cause of the bads and Phoenix Downs only work in parties.

Yeah, and I've seen him collapsed at the bottom of the ravine too, in a limp position post-fall and complaining about his circumstances. Wonder what the heck triggers it.

Sad thing is, there's a quest to save a baby coeurl from a roof but we can't save him?

This guy is training for American Ninja Warrior... he's fine up there FOREVER! :P
