Population of Coeurl

Hello hello everyone, good to see some faces that I still recognize in this server still! How's the player population in Coeurl nowadays? Just curious since servers are down at this time, and I haven't wandered into this forum until now :o.

Yeah, I changed my name from Eppi to E' P', :/.

Using the 3 categories I have to judge by..linkshell log in's are low but deleted characters have slowed. Mor dhona traffic minimal, however the new hub of Idyllshire is quite busy. Housing community is mostly empty ghost town.

Over all I say the numbers are holding steady since heavens ward launch. The bad part? 90% of us are in heavens ward and at endgame, again.
Leaving the other 10% left wandering the empty world of eorzea alone. Seeing one of us old timers wandering around must be like sighting a unicorn

Housing is not dead lol. What are you smokeing! The server is very active a lot more then most. Ay sure it not a big server but big servers a full of Bad know it all players that just QQ 24/7.. Our EU player base is low so you won't see much going on at that time but Pst/est afternoons are biz ^_^

For a medium population server, I'd like to say it's fairly active. On peak times you can get quick queue's when logging in but aside from that no issues. Plenty of people to do content with but only a handful have mentioned they've cleared AS1/2.

Yeah, I checked the progression thread and there's only 4 groups going savage o_O. Might consider jumping back in!

O.o my house is in ul'dah just outside the central court on the first ward. Mostly people who were from the beginning of 2.0 built there. >_> so yes my housing district is lonely

Coeurl has grown in population since Heavensward, which was to be expected. Mor Dhona has a few people derping about, but that's because everyone resides in Idyllshire/3.0 areas now. Idyllshire can get pretty packed. Quite a few people in the new areas doing FATEs, quests, etc. PF isn't as big as Gilgamesh or Leviathan, usually maxing at around 12-13 PFs when I've noticed, but nbd. I'd say Coeurl is a medium-large server, but the line is barely even scraping large status if that makes any sense. It doesn't touch that sort of server pop. yet, but probably can in the future. For now, it's medium but a big medium. Bigger than in the 2.x days thats for sure.

People are pretty kind of you're kind back, as with everywhere else. Only a handful of groups have cleared A1-2S, with like 2 on A3S. Ask for help, network with the people you knew/new people, and all should be okay! ^^

I honestly wouldn't say large at all. There are so few groups and players doing end game raiding, it has been very difficult to fill static slots. If anyone was considering endgame raiding I would say Coeurl is a very bad option.

The reason why no one's available to fill in rolls is because a lot of players already have statics. And I would also take into account actual player skill and the rate at which content is cleared on this server.

I think Coeurl is doing quite well. I can't speak for other housing zones, but I know the Ward 4 Plot 5 area of the Goblet is plenty active and every time I teleport to our FC house I see people from 3-5 different FCs all hanging out/crafting at the nearby marketboard. Endgame in Coeurl, imo, is going to pick up big time over the next few weeks/months as more people get geared enough to be able to handle the content. I'm very proud of the groups that we as a server have working on A2 and A3 Savage right now. I see plenty more groups currently on their way there. The Coeurl Progression Thread is, naturally, not reporting the many statics I personally know of that are trying their best to clear this relatively cutting edge content while simultaneously giving tryouts to 1-2+ new members each raid night as they try to find a proper fit for their overall group's skill level. Once we all get our groups ironed out I foresee quite a few new groups adding their names to the list.

Those groups are responsible for reporting clears. It's no one's responsibility but their own. If they don't report it, that's their fault. The Progression Thread is meant for clears, not what phase people are on, I'm afraid. Ironic enough, I know. But that's just how it's been since the launch not only for our server but all others. :/

Of course, didn't mean to suggest otherwise. The progression thread is working perfectly. Just wanted to emphasize to the unaware that those who have cleared and officially reported are not the only endgame statics currently working towards progression. We've got a pretty decently sized endgame community on Coeurl even if they aren't world first status. Give it a little time and I believe we'll blossom.

What I'm trying to say is that I've been looking for a static for 40 days and every one I have tried to join never has enough people always missing one or two, to me that doesn't represent Coeurl as a medium or large server. The PF does seem to be slow as well and filled with lots of...sub optimal DPS

Well, my suggestion to you is if Coeurl isn't up to your wants or needs, maybe transfer to a larger server. Or get in contact with Royal/anyone from <Crush> or any large raiding focused FC here.

I know that a lot of people will put up a PF only as a last resort. They find parties through FC, linkshells, and friends. Our server is rather cliquey that way and that needs improvement. But there are a lot of raids going on under the covers.
If you find the DPS sub-optimal, then maybe try coaching some people? I know many would appreciate friendly tips, guidance, and rotation advice. And those of us on PS3/4 can't p-you-know, so need a little help there.
Coeurl ISN'T large. It's medium. And I love it. :)

Coeurl being medium sized is a joke. I mean, maybe right after new content drops, but lets be honest: with most of the endgame content being locked away in elitist FCs and snobby half-built statics, Coeurl feels like a low pop server.
And PF is a nasty place filled with idiots who either want an easy clear they can be carried through, or it's just another senseless group of noobs spamming fates for levels while learning nothing valuable about their "main"class.
So unless you've got a group of friends or an FC focused on progression, Coeurl is a cold place filled with elitist trolls and cliques.
You do find plenty of crafters though. So...there's that?

It's important to note, I think, that the forum population is not representative of the population as a whole. I know of at least 3 groups that have cleared through AS3 (I'm not in any of them). I've been on the server since about 2 weeks after launch, and have barely looked at the forums. So... there are plenty of us out there, we just don't necessarily actively use the same communication tools that might be more active on other servers. Party Finder is an excellent example... other servers make excellent use of Party Finder, while Coeurlians (sure, why not) tend to keep things in /shout or in statics or FC's. That doesn't mean there isn't a lot going on, it just means it's not quite as open as it is elsewhere.

As for elitist trolls vs. everyone else... the surest way to break through the troll blockade is to start your own teaching groups. Not everyone that hasn't cleared Alexander is a "senseless noob", and not everyone that has is an "elitist troll". If you take the time to teach other people, like I do, you'll find that people listen, more often than not, and learn from their mistakes. No one likes hurling themselves at a fight 30 times in a row... take the time to explain the fight (calmly and without snark) and you'll find that most people will listen and adapt. That's been my experience at least... yours may vary. I suspect being called a senseless noob or elitist troll right off the bat might put them off from being interested in listening though, so more tact might be in order.

There seems to be this misconception that there are actual elitist trolls on our server. That does not exist. The reason why this mentality is present is because, to put it frank, people are mad because these "elitist trolls" sell runs and know our jobs. We are some of the kindest people if you treat us with the same respect, much like anyone else. Not once have I or a lot of us have been deliberately rude to anyone (before anyone jumps on this, I said a lot not everyone and no one is perfect).

In fact I don't know anyone other than a few of us who've taught players about their respective jobs, certain fights, even crafting, more so than others on this server who claim to be doing the work of Hydaelyn or something (not you, I'm sure you're doing a fantastic job). Hope you didn't find my comments rude, I talk with a matter-of-fact tone and sometimes text can transmit weird.

Look, I know you are frustrated with the server. I've seen your posts about it on these forums, and how the end-game community isn't meeting your expectations. However, every single one of the established end-game players on Coeurl were in the same situation you are currently in and needed to seek out other good players to clear content, and some of them weren't very good when they were learning the game and needed to overcome a reputation as a bad player (which can be very difficult to do). The difference between those end-game players and you is they didn't make useless complaint threads and posts when they were struggling with end-game content. They focused their energy on networking so they could know enough good players to clear content, and also improving their play so they could perform at a high level in the content they desired to complete. You can continue making these useless posts or you can put energy into bettering your situation, but every time you antagonize the end-game community you make it less and less likely that any of the established players will be willing to help you, thus making the goal of breaking into the end-game content more difficult. I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with these posts, but if it's a complete change to the way end-game works on Coeurl that is unrealistic at best, and if you are actually hoping to find players to do hard content with this is about the worst way you could do that.
