Live letter (again)

Is anyone else just watching the countdown to the live letter or is it just me?

Just a thread of randomness because im so eager to hear it.

I have the link opened in another tab, but I'm not watching it. It says there's about 51 minutes left, so I'll just come back to it then.

43 minutes left... .

42 minutes left... .

39 minutes left... .

it is sooooooo much japanese on the #XIVlive tag i dont know what to do!!!

I'm sorry if that has been answered many times already in other threads.

But does anyone know if there will be a separate live stream with english translation?

Or some place with live text based translations?

I assume the main stream listed on the website currently will be all in Japanese. So will we need to wait after the stream is over before we get the translations?

i.e. is there any point in non-Japanese speaking people viewing the stream?

dunno how long it'll last but some thing tells me there wont be any translation or if there is it will be in the form of "comments" or "tweets" so if you dont have twitter your probably screwed over

I'm pretty sure the fact that it's this early in the morning in the US has a lot to do with it. And the NA players greatly outnumber the EU as well. :rolleyes:

yeah it just depends on how its translated, like it wouldnt have been hard to setup various links for translators audio to overlay for set languages.

link 1 japanese
link 2 english
link 3 french

and so on and so on.

instead im standing by with headache tablets just in case lol

that said, we'll see how it goes.

It would be pretty stupid not to translate it on the fly because its looking at an international audiance.

It's a valid translation.

We've gone through this in XI years ago.

fairly poor grammatical translation though. reminds me of my cousin when he was 4 lol

It's not even grammatically poor. Perfectly valid, although not used anymore in modern English.

Did you play FFXI, there were so many localisation mistakes from thier translators.

My set up is, YouTube on PC with wireless headphones, laptop on Forum and iPad on Twitter. :)

in office, so mine is wireless headphones, laptop, bread, tuna mayonaise (Spicy edition) and 2 can of chocolate drink! (dinner time)

lol picoman a little excessive. makes me glad i use multiple monitors, but i despise twitter and refuse to use it. one of the worlds LARGEST and most pathetic social networking sites ever. "i just broke a nail while drinking a foot long, i HAVE to twitter it"

Just because some people use it like that doesn't make it pathetic. Amazing things have happened much because of the twitter.

Information spreads faster than news stations can keep up. I remember someone tweeting about the attack to Bin Laden's HQ in real time (he lived next to his mansion) and didn't realize it until the next day in the news.

yeah okay, some important stuff can be obtained via it but for the most part twitters "tweets" are useless information that is relative to a single person in the world servers no greater good. but then i guess thats all social networking sites in a nut shell

Im watching the feed and we has a countdown at pads.

Its funny watching everyone ask questions which cannot be answered and when the feed has not started!

Fortunately you can choose who to follow ;)

As far as gaming, lot of companies make use of twitter. It's actually the only channel that I know of where you can get answer to a question from the developers directly.

I'm not a fan of fb myself but twitter has quite a bit of utility when you ignore all the nonsense IMO.

i was in the section 8 prejudice RTS beta and own the game, its made by timegate, if you want to ask something about it you can just post on thier forums or pm one of the dev team and get an answer back in a day or two lol

Well you can all not use twiter, and I'll keep getting the PS store codes the give out on it, more of a chance for me to get em thanks everyone :)

I find a lot of ppl questions stuff that is already or have made a statement to it.. . :P
