PLD-MINOR CHANGE /HUGE GAIN (SE take this into consideration)

I know every one is tired of the PLD QoL changes
and that "we're fine" yada yada

but but but

just to give us a little more threat boost and a little more dps boost

I think they should take Shield Bash off GcD and , make it 4 secs re cast , it already depends on proc

this will give us a slight damage increase as it is a loss already to use it instead of any of your other combos , although it doesn't reset them , you could already be on your next halone/royal

its a net -50 to use it instead of the others with little to no gain seeing as Pacification is no use end game

Please SE take this into consideration !

It really needs to be oGCD, even with a 15 second timer. Have it still cost 40tp as well. It would be a net TP loss at a net DPS/hate gain.

This is a pretty common idea and might fix their single target damage and threat to a degree. It's not bad---not enough to lure me back to the class (having a ball on drk and war) but certainly would be nice.

Clemency being a gcd + this suggestion would be far more alluring.

I made the same suggestion in another thread. I think you're talking about Shield Swipe, I made the same mistake. I agree, off global cooldown and add maybe a 5 second recast timer would increase MT dps and single target enmity without affecting OT output.

I think the downside of having shield swipe becoming an OGC move is that it would end up draining TP even faster (as if TP wasn't already a bit of an issue in longer fights) so idk how well having shield swipe set up the way you guys want it to would really help.

Edit: It'd have to be remade to work the same way as Drk's reprisail ability

Sorry, but I disagree. This is not a great idea. Tp management is already an issue for Pld class with the skill speed on the new expansion gear. When Maxing my Dps in raids, I can flat line my Tp twice in a single boss fight, working with dps to restore after first bottom out. I don't have to, mind you, but if the team needs a bit of an extra push it's doable as pally. I honestly have no problems generating more than enough dps using Pld. All this would do is mess with the rotation, and kill the raid utility of the move for stun rotations on specific boss mechs in certain dungeons. Given that the move has no combo potency and does almost nothing for threat gen, it would be a waste. They would be better off changing the way shield oath works than messing with our current moves.

Also they could remove the TP cost.

In addition it would be cool to actually be able to use our shield as a weapon, as it stands like everyone else is saying, It is absolutely useless to use in raids and makes the blocking proc for it useless.

Shield Swipe is a minor TP restore since its a GCD with a Sub-60 TP cost, meaning every time you use it you're effectively regaining a bit of TP as your natural TP tick gives you, iirc, 60 TP in combat. If PLD got another way to reliably manage their TP usage I'd be okay with making it an off-GCD skill, otherwise, no.

If they ever make changes to Shield Swipe (it being oGCD would be great), they should also look at changing the additional pacification effect. The additional effect would be great if it actually stuck on anything but everything resists it making it largely pointless.

They could make it give some sort of TP restore or a debuff to the mob. Sort of 'The mob was knocked off balance and takes an extra 5-10% damage for X seconds' OR 'The mob is dazed and deals 5-10% less damage for X seconds'

The OP is the one that posted the wrong skill. It's an ok idea, and a really old idea.

And Faytte, Clemency is GCD.
