Because Machinist.
oh good another one of these threads.
Hey hey hey....u will give me foes and you will like it! Even if im running on nin instead of blm/smn! Raiton! Also, you have improved AoE too in 3.0. Rejoice and be glad! Although yea it may feel like booboo for a while if you only played bard, but if you played blm in any endgame while really atempting to max it out, the 1.5 sec cast times on bard will feel like having your back massaged by 10 lalafells. (i don't know what that means, but just accept it as a good feeling).

You do not like bow mage? Well I do
This guy next to me doesn't like it either but then again this one guildy of mine does. And you know why it's that? Because there are millions of people and millions different versions what is enjoyable and what is not.
I don't care if this is troll/flame/hate post and I responded to it as it was real.
It's not a mage at all, you don't cast any magic spells.
Here's a different perspective to look at Wanderer's Minuet: It's not just one song you play and it buffs everything, it turns each skill into it's own little song! How much more bard like can it get? It's almost as if you never run out of songs!
And each of those little songs is a utility - the utility of contributing DPS to the group that isn't complete shit.
If this is far too much like bard for you, then simply remove your job crystal, because I believe you are looking for archer.
Guys a female roe has entered the thread. We are unworthy of being in her presence. In fact, I'm breaking several traditions by simply READING her glorious pixelized words of wisdom that my ears have been blessed to here.
All of you, including me, get out the thread.
Now.

That only works if their complaint isn't relevant or meaningful. People don't seem to realize if so many people don't like something they have a right to ask for it to be changed. Bitching just to bitch is pointless, but if OP doesn't like something in a class that they are playing, they should be allowed to complain and ask for change. Just like its your right to disagree, but don't say the complaints are unwarranted.
brd still wrecks dungeons...L2P
That's mostly as a response to the many threads in general popping up. But really, it's either get used to WM or don't and leave it off all the time, suffering a massive DPS loss. Those are the only answers, and I don't think the development team will change it just because people don't like how it feels, because they probably would have answered the complaints at this point with a statement saying they'd change it by now.
I can see where losing mobility really sucks. And though you can technically NOT use WM and keep your mobility, you're probably going to take a severe hit to your dps in the process, which no one in end game content would find acceptable. They basically forced a complete change in play style, which I can definitely understand.
No, not a bow mage. Do better aoe than blm & smn, then call urself a mage.
Where is that Yoshi-P Git Gud image? xD
1.5s cast times are so horrible.
Botanist have cast bar too? wonder how you can play it. Isnt it Hatchet mage in that case?
To be honest botanist is very much too OP
I have to say I am rather enjoying these brd bashing threads now haha. Bow mage, that's hilarious to know I'm not the only one that calls them that! Used to main one but am melee now. Hopefully they won't give melee cast timers.... hopefully... haha oh gawd no... now I have an evil image..... of Yoshi P next to a dev reading this sayin I'm Yoshi P Bit!! Cast Timers for Eeeeeeveryone!!! followed by...

haha
Above is what I'm talking about. Mocking people for having a grievance because you don't agree. you know who else does that? Assholes.
BRD class is mobile and supportive but have weaker dps for 2 years and they change the play-style to a caster and everyone's response is to get good?
1.5s base charge up time on your weaponskills does not make you a mage.
You are right. We are clunky bow wizards.
What's really funny about this whole thing is back in alpha and beta we told the devs it was strange that archers could run and jump around shooting their bow. Sadly a lot of jobs were changed in 3.0 and it's either adapt or find another job to play.
OP, I'm sorry that you dislike Wanderer's Minuet, and I can understand why. I personally do not share the feeling, but that's not to say I don't understand.
Rather, I noticed during the lv. 52 job quest that one of the NPCs makes a comment about "adapting to the situation" and how it's a trait well sought after in a Bard. Call it clever commentary, or perhaps a direct message from the devs hidden in the dialogue, but simply put: Minuet is a new addition. It likely won't go away, however WILL require adaptation to learn to use properly. That doesn't mean you HAVE to like it, and there are still situations where it's more effective NOT to use it, but adapting to it makes all the difference, and I would encourage you and other career Bards to do so.
It personally took me little time/experimentation upon getting it to learn a few of its more subtle nuances. (And in fairness, having leveled MCH prior gave me a fair understanding of it ahead of time.) But the addition is - like all the other additions to the other jobs - a change. Change requires adaptation. And if you consider that casting times are NOT actually something new to Bards (by which I mean the songs), it's more of a conversion than an absolute change. All the same, change requires adaptation. And adaptability is apparently a well-sought trait in a Bard.
From a design perspective I'd be worried as hell with that rationale. It's one thing to have jobs perform the same role and perform comparably. It's another to make jobs mechanically similar. This is not mitigated by pulling the rug from under people with no discussion on it and without it being something directly asked for by the players. As I've said in other threads, this sort of thing doesn't bode well for any job.
