Nugget Recipes 1.19

It seems everyone is assuming you will no longer be able to craft nuggets once 1.19 drops, and so there's a rush to hoard nuggets so you can level off nugget recipes post 1.19. After looking through the notes again, it seems to me, nugget recipes will still be there. They're not listed under the "updated" recipes, which are all ingot, plate, ring, etc recipes.

Am I missing something here? Because I've been crafting silver, electrum, and iron nuggets like crazy the last few days, and it's becoming tiresome quickly. It would be nice to know if can take a break without worrying about losing a ton of potential SP by not having a good supply of nuggets after the update-- not to mention I'm almost completely out of inventory space, and it's nerve racking transferring stacks of electrum nuggets to a mule.

SE will most likely change some of the base synths, such as removing the Ore > Nuggets recipe and making the Ore > Ingots recipe standard.

It would be pointless to still have both recipes to active in the game at one time. A lot of other players also assume this. Now I don't have solid concrete proof, but the assumption is valid and shared by others.

They specifically state in the note which recipes are being phased out and which are being "updated." They do not mention the actual recipes used to make nuggets in either category. However, they are changing the recipes to make ingots from nuggets, into ingots from ore, so you will no longer be able to turn your nuggets into ingots, but that is the only mention of nuggets, aside from listing them in the items that will not be used in future recipes, or no longer sold by vendors. Why would they go to all this trouble and then only give us a partial list of recipes that are being removed or changed? It makes no sense. Am I really the only person who is seeing this?

They stated old recipes will still be possible. You will still be able to make nuggets after patch. You just wont be able to craft the nuggets.

No you'll be able to turn your nuggets into anything you want with the old recipes. You can turn nuggets into ingots, or nails, or squares, or fish hooks. You just wont be able to make Ore into nuggets.

Have you actually looked at the detailed list of item changes? Because your assertions make absolutely no sense. They SPECIFICALLY state, that the recipes to make nuggets into ingots will be "updated" into a recipe that requires ore instead, and they do not say this about the recipe to make ore into nuggets. Not to mention, many of the items used to make nuggets will no longer be used in the new recipes, such as dusts, limonite, and gold ore, so are these items going to become instantly useless after the patch, even though SE specifically stated there will be a grace period to allow crafters to make use of their old items? Seems like something they might want to mention.

I've already told you what myself and a lot of my friends think will happen. I also told you I have no concrete proof but the common consensus is that is what will happen. SE has also stated you'll be able to use up all your old materials.

The reason why many of us are crafting items is because of the yield changes. Not because the recipes will be phased out.

I understand the yield changes on base items, and I'm doing that also, but I think this is where the misconception comes from regarding nuggets, because it is a base item, however, unlike other base items it is not having it's yield changed. So, people are assuming the listed change to ingots as the base item is replacing the nugget synths, but if you look closely they actually tell you which recipe they are changing, and it is not the nugget recipe.

For example:

It says new recipe for iron ingot is x3 iron ore > x1 iron ingot, and it says the old recipe this is replacing is the x5 iron nuggets > x1 iron ingot. Nowhere is x4 iron > x12 iron nuggets mentioned as being replaced or taken out. Do you understand what I'm saying here?

Okay I didn't see the new revisions to the recipe changes, yeah it looks like they will still allow people to make nuggets.

not sure. most of the crafters i know are doing the logs to lumber, skins to hide, and misc raw materials to yarn and cloth. they're doing those, not because of them being removed, because of the yielding changes only. most of us would rather take the side of caution and be wrong and them not be changed than to not do it and lose materials we would have had normally.

It's most likely a little lost in translation, but it's been made somewhat clearer in the past.

Only two recipes are actually being abolished. (Copper ingots when crafted by armorers and blacksmiths - goldsmiths can still make them.) The dated recipes are going through a transition phase where they can still be used, but after SE are confident they are sufficiently no longer in use, they'll be struck as well.

I can't decide if I'd be better off turning my +2/3 logs into lumber now or waiting until SE converts them to HQ. I've got nearly 200 +2/3 walnut logs and synthing all those at once would be painful.

i did mine, but it was as a worry that the +2/+3 would just get the dated stamp like gear will and not be able to be used in new recipes. that's just a personal choice only you can make if you wish to chance it or not.

Well they could easily make +2/3 lumber dated too lol. Bah I don't have time to sit and spam bold on so many logs as well as other things I need to do before patch. I've got a busy weekend as it is without having to do this. I'll probably end up hasty handing most of the must-convert materials.
