Ummmm already is ? Almost every dungeon from 3.0 and a few from 2.0-2.55 have minions (Unicolt, Demon Brick, Morbol Seedling, Lesser Panda, Baby opo-opo etc). Raid minions off the top of my head there was one rewarded at the end of the FCoB and a minion made from the crafting material dropped off of A4 normal.
He means being able to have them summoned.
Having Midgardsomr on my shoulder when fight gonna be~ awesome!
Also I want my Dodo accompany me to support people :p
I remember this being a thing in Beta. Had a cherry bomb out in copperbell and people actually got confused and wanted to attack it.
Good times
I am sure this was asked already.
And I am gonna say no again. The less cluster )#$&*(Q@ the better.
So you want more lag and more targets on the field?
No please. The less targetable things wandering around in instances, the better.
Could always make them untargetable in a dungeon/raid scenario.
But I'm sure server stress is the reason they don't allow this.
What if it was just visible to the player?
But I LIKE being able to target them, just not in an instance where 50 other mobs are running around me in circles.
I like to interact with them in the overworld. But I don't see why I should have to disable that every single time I enter a dungeon and then turn it on again when I leave =_=
lol "server stress" c'mon guys :\ do you really fall for that excuse?
Make them non-targetable in dungeons, I don't see the problem? other games let you have pets in dungeons and nobody has issues with that.
Sounds so pointless.
The minions are more than static meshes and blank actors. They have their own scripting that are continuously running when they are loaded. You will notice that even if you don't interact with them, they have their own movements and randomness of interactions, meaning, as soon as they are summoned their scripts are running. You open 2 million running scripts in the dungeon server and you can expect a slow response from the server. Your not simply loading up a picture here.
I've got nothing against minions, they're cute and all that, but I'll keep my baby opo-opo for around town play. When I zone in to a dungeon or raid, I'm there to play. There's a clearly defined goal for us to clear the content. When a magitek colossus, or other beastie of your choice comes barreling at me, I want to focus on what's happening. I don't need to see the entire band of wind up Scions getting in my way. If they implemented them in a way where a player can disable seeing other's minions, and especially to avoid targeting them without having to mess with all my target filtering, then I could at least offer a show of indifference. As it is, I prefer keeping them out of instances.
As cool as it'd be to have my Lesser Panda on my head while healing dungeons its also pointless to have it added.
Its not Midgardsomr its a bad copy of the wyvern pet of the FFXI Dragoon :P :D

sorry for OT but it hurts ^^
I don't want 'em in regular instances but I'd love to take one with me when I run dungeons solo. They wouldn't annoy anyone that way, I think. :)
Oh wyvern accompany dragoon in fightning, really nice! :D
I don't understand with people who complain the "it will disturb my clicky clicky!". Won't the SMN/SCH's pet or MCH's turret will disturb you too if they summoned beside you guys? If the filter available you could turn it off so you can't click on them or not seeing them. I really need company when solo dungeon other than my pet :(
Yes, they do, that's why I absolutely despise running any content with SMNs. It's not just that there is a risk of clicking on them - my main reason to hate them is because their stupid pet is Garuda in 90% of all cases and it always blocks my view wherever I go. I was super close to leaving content several times before, willingly taking the penalty, just because I couldn't bear those annoying pests anymore.
I don't need even more of that stuff cluttering my screen.
(Fairies and Turrets are usually placed somewhere away from the players so they don't pose a problem)
I'm confused as to why you guys are clicking on things so frequently. o.0
I can't get behind this. Imagine going into a 24 player raid with three full parties and every single person in alliances A, B and C all have a fat cat out. They are cute but they are not that cute.
O.o
100% agree that minions should be allowed in all instances. Plenty of other games had this, and I personally never met anyone who had a problem with it, even in 40 man raids.
