Are Level 60 Pet Skills Coming? (SCH)

When Heavensward first went live the first thing I checked was too see if they missed the mention of new pet skills at 60. I was very disappointed. I've kind of let my imagination run free with what new skills the fairies could learn, especially since fairy healing goes down 40% from level 50 to 60, with respect to the Scholar.

Suggested Pet skills-

Eos- Fey Memento - This AOE buff would have a cast time similar to Whispering Dawn. For 10 seconds, all healing spells will form a shield, with a Galvanize-like buff that would not overwrite SCH/Astro buffs if the heal spell shield created is smaller. Lustrate nor Benediction would galvanize from this skill, because they are abilities and not spells. It would work well with Cure III and Emergency Tactics Succor. It would also turn Physick into a lower costing and more effective, adloquiem. Its range would be 15yalms. Suggested cool down: 1:00 to 1:20

Selene - Fey Explosion - This AOE would also have a cast time similar to Whispering Dawn. Fey Explosion would be a 150-250 potency AOE with damage based on the SCH's raw Mind stat, meaning that buffs such as Cleric Stance or a Mind Potion would be ignored. The Aoe would also cause Blind for 10 seconds, further making Selene a great asset to Warriors/Dark Knights in particular. Its range would be 15yalms. Suggested cool down: 1:00 to 1:20

I like your ideas, but although good, the eos skill would not be viable. I think this whole 'only one shield will prevail, shields can't be doubled' is a decision that won't go back considering the interaction between AST and SCH shields...
Selene's skill would be awesome, but I don't see the fairies attacking at all... Her perfect skill would be a raise, but if they give it to her, she will be the most overpowered thing ever. A pet that has heals, esuna, haste and raise? Some players wouldn't be comparable to Selene, LOL.
But every idea is an idea. I also hope the dev team add some cool Lv60 skills along with the pat glamour...

The interaction between the shield and Galvanize/Nocturnal should be the same as how Galvanize works by itself. Smaller shields should not overwrite larger ones in the way Nocturnal and Galvanize interact. This effect would create more synergy between the SCH and the other healers, because a scholar could only take advantage of it through Physick, Emergency tactics once every 30 seconds, and Embrace, where as the other healers could take temporary advantage of this effect.

Personally Selene's ability would be my favorite. She has 2 out of 3 very situational skills right now, where as Eos has 3 fairly solid skills. AOE Blind falls hand in hand with her Silence. The damage would be questionable, but I think its within her role. <3

WELL, that would be all and good if sacking a fairy did different things, like eos attaching a regen effect to your spells if you sacked her and Selene giving you a buff like light speed. :D <3 I'm ok wiith that being their 60 skills. :D

Indeed our SCH and SMN pets need improvements. Help SE!

I already have a hard enough time fitting all the skills into my cross hot bars (PS4 player). No, I don't want any more faerie skills. Honestly. I literally wrote a guide on faerie control and I don't want more faerie skills if it means more stuff to fit into my bars. If they had given us a set of faerie skills instead of one of the other new ones, that would have been fine, but I don't want a wider disparity between the number of abilities Scholars need to fit on their bars compared to everyone else.

That said, it is very clear to see they haven't added new faerie skills, and it is safe to assume means they won't. They nerfed faerie a healing power past lvl 50, so it seems they are trying to reduce the amount that the faerie contributes to the class's strength overall.

I play on a ps3 and could easily fit both skills. Using chotbar copy helps to fit it all. Controlling your fairy is fairly intuitive. Hotbar space isn't a reason to reject new skills.

They could just scale the current potency of our Fairy support abilities. Whispering Dawn to 125, Fey Covenant to 25%, Fey Wind to 40 seconds, etc... And yes, when we use Dissipation, we should get the AOE Regen + Magic Damage Reduction for Eos, and Fey Wind + Will absorb one incoming debuffs from Selene.

What we really need is for their healing potency to scale up as well, Cure Potency to 325.

How about:



Fey Revivify
Duration: 12 seconds
Recast:180 seconds
Effect: Bestows a auto-raise effect on target player.
Weakness is a bit longer lasting an/or more potent than a regular raise.

Basically it would be a preemptive raise effect, the cool thing is it could be cast on the SCH themself, acting like an FFXI Reraise but for 12 seconds. I mean I don't see why if DPS or a tank or two die it's easy enough to recover but if healers die and no SMN with Resurrection, it's game over. I think healers should all at least get some form of Auto/Reraise albeit with a long cooldown.

Fey Endure
Duration: 5 seconds
Recast: 300 seconds
Effect: If the target player receives damage that would kill them, player instead survives with 1 HP and the effect immediately wears off. (As compared to Holmgang where they are virtually unkillable for those 6 seconds).

Fey Burst
Duration: 20 seconds
Recast: 90 seconds
Effect: For 12 seconds, embrace becomes a 5yalm AoE.

Didn't they acknowledge that Fairy healing is currently broken? Also I imagine fairy healing will scale with more MND gear moving forward...for the same reason how current crit rate for DPS at i190 for level 60 is lower than it was at i130 for lv50. Because we aren't near the max ilvl cap for our player level yet (which I'm presuming will be about 215-220?).

If we get more support abilities on the fairies, it will start to go over the AST supposedly home turf specialty lol. The fairies are fine as it is, just need more potency to scale up. Heck just make their healing to do far more and we will be totally ok.

I liked your ideas, I really wish they could be implemented.
But I guess a reraise would be hard to balance. Imagine a transition phase, like Titan's. You don't need to kill heart, save LB3, healer reraise him/herself, healer raises after the big hit and use LB3 to bring all the party back. It should eliminate the dps check... (Even if you are synched to lv50 and this skill would not be available, you could go unsynched and ignore mechanics anyway). I still think that a fairy sacrifice to get an instant raise would be cool, but with dissipation now, I guess it won't happen either.
Fey Endure would be awesome! But it's a tank move and I don't think SE would like it available for other characters. Not sure.
Fey Burst is the most viable of the suggestions, would fit to eos perfectly.

Someone suggested a blind AOE for Selene. I think it would be an awesome move if you didn't have blind on Ruin 2. Maybe Selene could do a Pacification move instead? It would counterbalance her silence...

I think a self revive is asking way too much and the suggested skills would have to match in cd between Eos and Selene. I suggested blind, because light is usually bright. XD. (I would love pacification, but I think again it's asking a bit)


Maybe Disappation could act as an Enkindle that gives Aetherflow and sacrifices your fairy for an ultimate martyrdom. Seeing a combination of their current skills be used like Luvbunny suggested would work, but it's not very inspired. I want to see why a Scholar would give up his best friend and greatest achievement in a moment of crisis. I wanna see lights that bolster and bless.Epicness you know? xD That sort of thing could be acceptable for the lackluster 60 SCH skill and the lack of new pet skills.

Eos - Fey Extension. Extends the duration of Galavanize, Eye for an Eye, Fey Illumination, Fey Covenant, and Whispering Dawn effects of party memebers within 15 yalms for 15 secs.

Yeah.... Stealing garuda-egi's Contagion.

Selene - Fey Beacon. Everyone near Selene will receive a refresh buff that gradually restores MP and TP over 15 secs and imposes a 10-second silence on Selene that cant be dispelled.

Take that BRDs and MCHs that are pretty selfish on your refresh abilities.
