Ancient Magic Spells.

They all share the same timer now...why?

With the timer increased, why did the cast time not go down?

These spells were not very unusable at all, 90 second recast with a 45 second cast time, makes it even more so.

30 second recast with a 10 second cast time seems more reasonable. I mean 10 second cast and boom it's done, not ten seconds with an additional 35 seconds included with the effect to go off.

Where are you getting the 45 second cast time from?

I think the time bomb is a neat feature, they just need to be more powerful. Also the German translation said it was now instant cast.

Yeah I like the time bomb properties too.

If they become insta-cast they are easily going to be my go-to nukes. Set it up then return to healing duty and wait for it to appear =P

english translations put it at a 90 secon recast timer.

When you cast the spell it takes 10 seconds to cast. When you cast it, a buff will appear on you showing 45 seconds. So when counter gets down to zero it may go, or you wasted 100 mp cause it doesn't go off sometimes. So the cast time ranges to about 45 seconds.

Oh it's going to have an instant cast now? That's fine with me. I'm assuming they will possibly be more potent now with the battle changes as well. The new shared increased recast is probably to balance this.

What I've noticed it takes 15 seconds or so for the spell to actually go off, at which point the status will go away. Since you're effectively putting down a proximity mine I believe the spell stays there if you stay in the immediate area and something wanders into the AOE. I played around with it a little recently and it seemed to work that way.

Did you try it on something close to your rank, or something like a star Marmot?

If it's like a proximity mine, itll really suck on Ifrit to use since he jumps around a lot.

Once I got the spells I was going wild with them and forgetting they cost a lot of MP >.>

I've played around with them on occasion since while helping buddies with R40 leves, so using them on ~Level 52-54 enemies.

Maybe the Single target thing means that now instead of the "mine" being tethered to one spot the spell will just be delayed before hitting the enemy like a regular nuke, which would make them a LOT better.

Maybe they will be stronger hitting, but if not im going to be even more sad about these moves. :(

I haven't received AM yet but so far it sounds so lame compared to FFXI. I was sooooo excited to get AM in FFXI because it looked so cool. These sound so lame....45 second wait time....who the hell...?

I just wish they had better animations. :( I miss the super flashy ones from FFXI. D:

Just wanna add, i cant wait to see "New" possible flare-burst..etc revamps for the real class...

I would. Revamped spell with the title, that would be glorious.

Hopefully potency has been increased.

Hopefully the animation has been made to look befitting to the name "ancient magic"

They changed this because with the attributes actually mattering, the DMG is going to be significantly higher
