The job doesn't need a rework -- just some small fixes. Nothing more. The job is fine.
Sorry rework was a strong word.. But we did need adjustments. We got nothing at all, wait wait I forgot, they did right by us completely. They fixed the tool tip on Darkside..... thankyou SE you sure do know how to make us feel good.
well save to assume now drk wont see any changes until 3.1 which is atleast 2 months away if not 3. gg SE. atleast they did something about the mp bug from darkside according to patchnotes. welp.
They already said they're awaiting feedback from Savage Alexander.
At least things will function properly. I'll probably just dust off DRK a bit to farm Esoterics from Expert Roulette, just to mix things up, but I'll leave real tanking to WAR for now.
Yeah two months of complete hell. Unless Alex Sav has some nasty magic attacking mobs / bosses then Drk is a bench warmer class. Much like Warrior 2.0 was, not quite as bad but in the current state of where both tanks just outshine Drk, so yeah its just like 2.0 lol.
Did they mention the Darkside flames?
Good thing I leveled my Paladin (My Favorite) after being done with Dark knight. Tested the class but what can we do, they'll improve it once they bring it in the workshop. This is the main reason why I never limit myself to one class.

Until Japan's player base is screaming at square to fix something, they won't lift a finger to fix something that they don't believe is broken. They don't really seem to care too much about their western player bases opinions and ideas so if you got any beef, better to learn katakana and kanji and take it up with the Japanese forums.
Looks like DRK issues may have ended up being a L2P issue after all. I'm only 55, but I have yet to have the problems people keep complaining about, and I find DRK way more durable than my WAR (who is 53). I know I know I'm not 60 blah blah blah, it couldn't possibly be that others don't know how to play the class, and it couldn't possibly be people are trying to play it like Warrior version 2.. etc etc etc.
if it is the same way that they handled warriors what makes you think they would handle dark knights any differently?

all of you people who whine more than you play the game, keep whining, keep spreading your bullshit like it's the bubonic plague. tell DRKs their class is not good enough to be played at endgame. continue to fail miserably at mechanics because group composition isn't what will be holding your groups back.
the easiest way to change a class in a game is to complain that it is not competitive and then prove that the entire game's community agrees that said class is just taking up space as dead weight.
The only thing I want for DRK is some TP management, but honestly we probably won't see that. Paladin has never had TP management, and they still do not. It's strange that WAR received some TP love when out of the two original tanks they were the best on TP because of Inner Beast not taking any TP. I've honestly be going as WAR just because I don't have to worry about TP at all. Except for Floor 2 because AoE threat is more sustainable on DRK, and if I'm MTing Floor 4 I'll go DRK, but by time both legs are dead I'm at the bottom of the barrel and typically have our Bard play Paeon during the small downtime transitioning into the last phase.
I liked the idea of switching MRD for LNC as a cross class, but it could get tough! I'd want Life Surge, Blood for Blood, Keen Flurry, and Invigorate. That would only leave 1 slot! I know Life Surge currently isn't a cross class that LNC offers but I think it really fits with the DRK theme, and man a Life Surge + DA/Souleater would be some nice self healing!
Drk is fine in my opinion. Could use some TP love but other than that it seems good. I do like how the whole crying about no one wanting a drk in serious raid groups was just instantly shut down by showing a drk MT on a savage clear on worlds second. lol.
Job has been out for a total of 28 days. Take some time to learn to play it and get better. Too many people confuse not liking or being good at something with it being fundamentally broken. That's just arrogant. Could Drk use a couple tweaks here and there? Sure. But it isn't going to make or break them either way. The class has just been proven to be viable in one of the hardest duties in the game mained by some of the best players in the game. It's time to move on. I can't help but think that if all the people complaining about their drk job were actually playing it instead of crying on forums there would be a lot less crappy drks running around.
Most of the 'Ultra' endgame groups are running with DRK main tank. If you feel DRK is underpowered, it's a matter of your personal skill and ability, not the job.

2) I'm raiding right now as DRK. So whatever issue you think I have about it being total ass in raiding is null and void on my end and that's all I have to say about that.
3) my personal gripe is actually with these tiny changes that don't need Alex Savage "feedback" like the Darkside aura being janky as hell and lolTP, etc.
4) I don't care how WAR was treated in 2.0 to be honest. Other Jobs have received recent adjustments WITHOUT the aid of Alex feedback, and yet you somehow bring up that SE clearly didn't learn from that stupid "git gud" hashtag they put on WAR before buffing it...*yawn*
5) DRK owns in PVP...y'all gotta get some of this action!
What suprised me a lot is that they didn't give a fuck about the darkside aura which its pissing almost everyone off.
They might have judged its too early to say if DRK is in a bad spot or not. AST was obviously lacking compared to other healers. You could do everything with it but it was harder than with a scholar or a whm. DRK on the other can run everything just fine (dont know about alexander savage) and has no problem taking huge loads in the face which is its primary role. The main problem is its utility compared to other two tanks. Reprisal sucks, and you have nothing beneficial as an OT. You still do more damage than other two tanks as MT but it absolutely needs to have some utility as an OT. Those are the things in my opinion that are hard to judge on easy content.
What SE wanted to ensure was to put all the classes in a good spot so they don't get denied for raids. DRK is clearly not weak and has a proper place as a MT. It for sure needs some adjustements and we shall probably see them in the next patch i'm sure of it.
It seems that, according to evidence from the top raiders currently, DRK is the preferred tank for magic fights. A1 Savage had the 25k magic nuke and I'm imagining A4 is also going to be done with DRK. A2 was done with PLD most likely because its a bunch of adds with physical damage so Blocking and Physical mitigation is king there. No idea on A3 Savage.
My guess is that "highest DPS while MT" along with magic mitigation puts it over the top on these DPS -check heavy, magic fights.
I've been raiding with a DRK/WAR or PLD/WAR mix since they can interchange. We haven't figured it out, but there's probably some sort of silly mechanic for that magical tank buster. It really, to me, makes no sense for anything like that to hit so hard without expending X Number of CDs. That aside, while DRK has an advantag with Dark Mind, I'd still see some use from PLD with Veil because the jumps afterwards hit like a freaking truck. Warrior is just naturally there because of their utility. DRK gives, again, nothing save Dark Mind.
But that's my two cents.
Drks fine, I'd like more TP while dpsing but god damn. It is not dead weight.
Many good DRKs don't have problems with the job and are managing to pull off some serious tankiness with it, and are being used as MTs in Savage mode. The only major problem we had they fixed, which was the Darkside MP glitch. We're fine now outside of a few QoL changes...just learn how to play DRK better.
DarkKnights: we want to mitigate like paladins, but have our amazing aoe and great damage (while tanking), and while we are at it, we need to tp regen and off tanking of a warrior---GIVE US EVERYTHING!
