Final Fantasy 14 Fanfiction/ Fan art?

Like the title says: Do you read/write any fanfiction and or draw fan art?

I try to write some fanfiction, but seem to be getting writer's block from time to time. I have one chapter written about my character: Eden, but I haven't been able to continue. Also written some fanfiction for my FC mates. lol XD It was fun and they all seem to enjoy it. Even though I don't think it was good.

I'm actually writing a Pokémon / Final Fantasy fanfiction. I stopped several years ago because I couldn't come up with anymore ideas, but I'll be starting again since I've thought up some new things. I actually have Pokémon fighting alongside trainers who have taken up jobs (Warrior, Paladin, etc.) that are fighting against monsters (classic Final Fantasy monsters plus undead ones), rival trainers (for sport like PvP), criminals, and an evil organization / army (kind of like the Garleans and the "evil teams" in the Pokémon franchise; they create combinations of dark TMs that have forbidden and sacred moves, plus battle with possessed Pokémon that are not like the Mega Evolutions we recently got in the games).

But meh lol The story incorporates a lot of FFXI and FFXIV elements for the jobs that the trainers have. And no, this fanfiction isn't G rated as I've already had one of the criminals burned to death by a Pokémon attack.

lol Sounds interesting. Something I might want to check out. I do like Pokemon and seeing them take a FF job like paladin or ninja sound cool.

Well, the main character in the story is named after me, but this story takes place in the distant future. There was a landmass that formed in the Pacific Ocean (in the story) that was slightly bigger than Australia. It was supposedly created by the goddess named Altana (FFXI), but later in the story I am going to go into detail on how the continent appeared.

The main character's father was a Paladin in the continent's republic capital (which was an island off the coast of the continent) until he was called to the main land to fight in a war against the imperial army. The imperial army was started up by a general who was from the republic who had a dishonorable discharge, so he fled to the other island south-east of the continent. That other island was also a republic, but after twisting the politicians (kind of like how the Monetarists overtook Ul'dah in FFXIV; I actually came up with that idea WAY back in 2006, so it's like SE took my ideas lol) and overturning the government, the general made an empire and had more power than the royal family that ruled over the island nation. He also found "something" while excavating there on that republic island before his rise to power...it was a Protocrystal that had dark energy. Inside of the Protocrystal was ________ (not going to say which summoned creature from Final Fantasy lore was in it), and being taken under the general's control, it changed the whole country. Not going into any more details about it :P

Later in the story, the main character's Growlithe evolves into an Arcanine, and so the main character also becomes a Warrior and both fight alongside one another against opposing forces (be it criminals, monsters, or imperial soldiers). The Arcanine also enhances the main character's weapon. There are also Moogles and Chocobos in the story, too. Moogles are actually mythical and considered fairy tale characters, but in this fanfiction, they actually turn out to be real beings. The main character gets one, too. I also have Dragoons fighting alongside dragon-type Pokémon, and one character is a dragoon with a Charizard. There's also the usage of Linkpearls and a form of a "Free Company," but it's not like FFXIV's version (it's more like a group of people fighting for the common good or an organization, more like the Scions in FFXIV).

I gave up drawing many many years ago, so no fanart, but judging by the sheer amount of fanarts on devianart and the like, lots of people draw fanart :3

I rarely read fanfiction in English (my native language is German) so I don't know if there are many? Haven't seen any in my language (yet) though.

I'm writing one lengthy one about the stuff that happened in 1.0 + some made up adventuring (but I'm really slow about it and it's annoying to read because there is no real main character since I didn't want to force my own character on the readers^^°) so that the story of 1.0 is never forgotten, but it's getting increasingly hard to keep it true to the material but still make it compatible with all the ARR changes^^°

Oh, and I have a few small ones; just short, general everyday scenes with NPC couples I like, namely Nanamo and Raubahn as well as Ellie and Briardien where I tried to capture the charm of these non-couples :3

If there is, where can I find it? (I mean besides Deviantart, because that place is just scary with all the MLP crap and Sonic recolors.)

My girlfriend recently (like last year) got obsessed with the InuYasha anime, and has an anime crush on Sesshomaru. She now writes a fanfiction of InuYasha that deals with his mother, father, and brother. The anime has been done for 5 years now lol. Her fanfiction is written in Vietnamese because that's what she is, but I wish I could read it. Sometimes there is only so much you can do with a fanfiction with such little resources (like her's on InuYasha; I think it is hard for her to think of Japanese names and places, but she DOES live in Japan right now so that plays to her advantage).

You could try fanfiction.net; I don't know if any stories specific to FF14 are there, though.

You do realize deviantart has a search function, right? xD
Just type in 'ffxiv' and you won't see MLP or Sonic (since when has Sonic become a thing again anyway?o.O)

I enjoy some of those comics a lot, like Nomnom's (finished, sadly) and Red Mage vs. Blue Mage on Gamerescape. If you use google, you'll find a lot more.

Seriously though, I'd love to see some more FFXIV fan art. The "Draw Your Character" Thread is one of my favorites on the forums. Some people are so talented and have such amazing work and I'd love to see more!

Yeah, there are a few places to find FF 14 fan faction and art. I usually just use google search to find some. Currently I'm writing a Fan Fiction Eden and Haurchefant. It's a pretty fluffy story and like writing it so far. Haurchefant is one of my favorite characters in the game.

I imagine the records role players write count too? Checkout the ff14 roleplay forums.

There are currently 68 works on Archive of Our Own for FFXIV. AO3 as it's called by most, is a newer alternative to FF.net. It was created due to FF.net's stance on NSFW fiction but houses fanfiction of all ratings.

O and I checked quickly and FF.net has 84 FFXIV fanfictions currently. There may be some crosspostings between AO3 and FFXIV btw.

Did it after playing 1.0! The ending was so cool that I had to do this as a gift for a friend :3 they're our characters at the final moments!


It has lots of errors imo, the wood couldn't let me improve the details (and my lack of skill counts, too!)

I also write fanfiction, but muse is currently on a long hibernation. I've written and published one story in the past and did around 36,000 words of another but I restarted that recently. So far it's four chapters in and it's a crossover too. There are also a few ideas for little mini stories that I've planned out, so we'll see how that goes. Whether I can wake muse up and get him to help me out again is another issue though... :/

Yes! In fact, I am planning on launching a FFXIV based comic next month tentatively titled "Kacho Nacho." Without bragging, I do pretty good work for being limited to the quality of World of Warcraft's models in my current comics Trigonometry and Gnomeregan Forever.

Go ahead and take a look. **Warning** You will be sucked in, especially by Trigonometry. You will see my growth as an artist and storyteller over the course of four years. I'm pretty proud of it all.

Now that I've switched to Final Fantasy, I cannot wait to see what stories I can tell with the superior graphics FFXIV supplies. It's going to be a lot of fun. :cool:

I'm actually in the midst of working on a FFXIV fanfiction myself. It's going to feature Gralda here, along with her childhood friends, who are all Ala Mhigan. Her and their story is that, as children, when the Garlean Empire invaded Ala Mhigo, they and their families were among those who escaped. Like all the other Ala Mhigans, they went to Ul'dah, but Gralda's father was smart and realized that they wouldn't have any sort of life there. Her father managed to rally others, and they all headed to Limsa Lominsa, where they all got honest livelihoods.

Gralda and her friends have lived in Limsa Lominsa ever since, and love it as their second homeland. They eventually become adventurers, and after some number of years, participate in the Battle of Carteneau. Since our characters are the Warriors of Light, Gralda and her friends are put into 'limbo' and wake up five years later, just as it happens in the game. This is where I've had to bend the lore a little: unlike how in-game where it states that no one remembers us or any other Warriors of Light, everyone remembers the Warriors themselves, but just have no memories of them participating in the Battle of Carteneau.

After 'awakening' from their 'sleep', Gralda and her friends return to Limsa, and several months go by. It's after these several months that my story starts, and my own iteration of the FFXIV: ARR story begins. Yes, my story is going to have several twists to the plot, but they won't deviate from the original story too much. I won't be posting any chapters of this story until most of it (if not all) is written, because I don't want to be one of those authors who starts writing a story, and then never gets back to it. I'm not trying to belittle any authors by saying that, but there are too many fanfics on fanfiction.net that are unfinished or haven't been touched by the author in months, or even years. Again, I'm truly not trying to be cruel to the authors on fanfiction.net, but I have several favorite stories on there, and they haven't been updated by their authors in months or years. It's just frustrating when you find a really good story, but it's unfinished, and the author doesn't seem to want to finish it. I hope that makes sense.

Well, since you asked nicely, I actually wrote some fics as backstory for my main, Isaac. Might be a little lore-breaky (since I wrote them before I knew all the lore and haven't had a chance to really go back and see if they need fixing), but if you can hold that aside, I think they stand nicely:
