Hello, I've been doing multiple tests on MCH and have come to realize that the autoturrets are not receiving the 20% damage increase from the Machinist trait: Increased Action Damage II. The trait states: Increases base action damage and autoturret damage by 20%.

How I tested this:
Placed my Rook Autoturret and used Reload adding 20 potency to my WS'. I then Hypercharged making my Split Shot and the Rook's Charged Volley shot deal 160 potency each. The difference in damage is exactly 20% in favor of the Split Shot which would make the Trait incorrect. I did the same with the Bishop Autoturret but using a non proc Clean Shot with the same results. You can do the testing yourself but if this is a bug, MCH have been missing the 20% buff to their autoturret this whole time. Dev please respond.

When You are turning potency to Damage, Pets are not using the same filter, I mean:
Turrent : X potency
MCH: Y Potency
X==Y does not mean Damage(X)==Damage (Y).
SMN has a trait like MCH, +30% damage actions and pet, and it happens the same, 100 potency from pet is not turned to the same amount of damage than 100 potency SMN spell damage. -

Many things about the new classes imply that they are made for lvl 60 and then scaled down after development was done. The reply, if any, you will get from developers is that prior to getting this trait, the turret will receive this bonus.

I'm not saying that this is 100% correct. I'm posting this as this doesn't seem right and that if pet potency for the Rook/Bishop autoturret says "Potency: blah" like the owners does it should be equated in the same manner. If it's calculated differently the tooltip should say something like "Pet Potency: blah".Quote:

I believe this is something that you may have just found with MCH that went unnoticed since launch with SMN, as I stated above. Could be a flaw in pet traits in general. People just said pets deal less damage, etc etc while we had SMN, but nobody actually bothered to see it was the exact 30% that is missing from the trait. Edit to add: Can't exclude Eos and SCH. Suffering the same effect. -

Pending how this goes the next few days, I may level up a summoner again and see how the traits work once earned, since as of now it seems they are suffering the same effect as MCH with the trait not being counted. However, SMN is actually testable as each trait is earned. If with each trait that increases player+pet damage, only player damage increases, bug will be confirmed for SMN+SCH+MCH.

How can you tell? Rook is Level 40 and the Trait is Level 40.
You can't get the turret without having the trait. What I mean is, if your level isn't high enough to have the turret, it won't be high enough to get the trait either.
It also seems odd that the Level 20 Trait "Increased Action Damage" mentions turrets when you don't have any at that level.
How can you check whether or not any damage is being added when you have no way of telling what the original base damage without it is? You cannot simply turn off traits, they are always active as long as you are synced to the appropriate level. Maybe I'm missing something, but to me "Potency" is some obscure metric that only loosely relates to actual damage output. It's hard for me to put into words but it seems like the Trait is always on and cannot be turned off, and it was adding that damage the whole time. And if there was SOME way to turn off the trait (which there isn't), your damage would be even lower than it is now. Just my thoughts. -
07-19-2015, 08:04 AMaabeThe thing is you can see a massive difference between your adlos vs your pet's embrace, your garuda's wind blade vs 1 dot fester, etc. but if you go into Qarn solo with undersize party + lvl sync (you aren't level 40 so you don't have M&M II) the difference is extremely small between you and your pet, about a difference of 10% (convenient because maim and mend I, 10% damage/healing trait is still there)Quote:
