Consumable Alcohol for players?

Just to add some fun to the game or when you're messing around with dungeons with friends. Not like the game shys away from the consumption of alcohol anyway (and some animals ingame even partake...)

Could function similiar to alcohol consumption in WoW; blurs vision, fish-eyed, swurved movement/flying and misreading enemy levels.

Lalafells are light weight and will die after a swig.
Though most of you people want that, wouldn't you? Lol.

Would be fun yes!
My main character doesn't drink, but my alt is a heavy drinker, she spends a lot of time in the forgotten knight flirting with the locals to get free alcohol. Would be fun if she could get drunk for realz!

The moogle should have died of a alcohol poisoning in the gridania cutsene then. I think lalas will be ok.

Would love to see something like this in game.

thank you for addressing the elephant in the room. i've been in bars around eorzea, killed 8 primals multiple times (21 if you include -redacted-), bested ultima weapon, and i still can't get a sodding drink.

why can't my character enjoy a semi-simple pleasure with long-term consequences that i will never (seeing as how i have permanently banned myself from drinking outside of religious practices) enjoy?

A part of me want them to introduce the Pirate Drinking Contest mini-game into FF14.

It was one of the funnest mini-games in Guild Wars 2 and I do hope other MMOs would introduce fun minigames like that.

Heck we have Pirates in this game but no Pirate Drinking Contest? Blasphemy!

There is alcohol in the game under the name Frozen Sprites but it doesn't have any of the above listed effects.

Let's not. :) this game is already very similar to WoW. We don't need more things that are LIKE WoW.

The same effects that have been asked for can be achieved actually. Go to a liquor store, buy liquor, drink it, then play the game. Bang, you got all those effects and SE didn't have to code in anything!

it's a pretty normal mechanic in most games with alcohol. wobbly camera, blurred vision, reduced accuracy.

EVERQUEST did this! Complete with alchohol tolerance skill, and drunkeness affecting sight, and movement.

Its not "making it like wow".

Considering we get diseases, frozen solid, infected with allagan std and allagan nanospores that corrupt our sense of humor, we still come out fine. Hangover is the least of our worries imo

Don't Drink and DPS! Seriously though, let's make this part of the Golden Saucer! You can drink in casinos IRL, why not Eorzea? It's not like there aren't tons of drunk NPC's running around already.....I say bring it on though! Drunk Ninjas inbound! Please look forward to it!

Yea if I remember correctly EQ was the first mmorpg to do this. Of course it's been a long time maybe it was AO. We use to have drunk races across town for platinum. It was pretty fun to do while waiting for members to get on for a raid.

This is the workaround ive been using!

When it comes to alcohol, my love from WoW was having it slur my words with the occasional *hic*

I made a similar thread a few months back, so hell yes LET US GET DRUNK. :3

We've watched a lot of friends die, and our inn room in Ishgard is full of bottles. But for some reason we can't drink.

It's very strange, alcohol use is in the rating system and all sorts of people drink, some to excess and some to the point it ruins their lives; but there's no quick alcohol consumable like beer or wine. The wine that's in we can't drink, we use it to cook; even though there's a whole little area that's devoted to wine tasting and production. I'd love to see any sort of implementation of this, whether it be just adding drinks called Beer or Wine or Spirits on vendors inside Inns, or a more fun implementation involving cooking that lets people brew their own stuff like Lotro had.

And I want smoke with pipe like Koh Rabntah. :)

That's what I was gonna say... and if our players do get the ability to get drunk in game don't forget the /vomit emote.

Inconsistent potency Values. Sword attacks are changed to Broad Swing.

I support this idea. After getting Alex Savage on farm, it's time to add a new dimension of difficulty, and challenge it drunk!
That initial disorienting walkway in A1 would be even worse. The true challenge.

When you get drunk everyone should look like Ser Aymeric or Minfilia. At some point your character will black out, and wake up in a random bed with the ugliest roegadyn in Eorzea.

Then you earn the achievement "You reap what you Roe".

Just kidding.
