A lot of info I suspect most people will be familiar with and the name is a bit of a misnomer because you're elaborating on some other concepts as well. But overall, the presentation is pretty good and the DPS-breakdown is good and will be good reference material for people who haven't done the math. It's good that there are people who are taking off-DPS seriously enough and doing their research in general. A few points I disagreed with and or found a bit distasteful in the way they were generalized, but it's a solid mini-guide overall.
Well... I don't think Broil should be used 100% in the Future Savage raid. With Alexander Savage you will run out of mana pretty fast, especially if you have to add adlos / succors to prevent high dmg.
Accuracy Gear... at the moment its not worth, there might be possibility for new stuff with red scripts/end game craft. If they don't implant new stuff than its worth.
I also got the feeling that there will be way more raid dmg in alex as in fcob :[
As long as you manage your MP as well as possible, then heavy Broil usage should be ok. I have yet to come anywhere near going OOM so far.
Has anyone actually figured out the Accuracy caps yet for, say, Ravana Ex?
In your guide you say that physick is never worth it and adloquium is better. Why is this? Isn't physick more mana efficient? Assuming no big hits are coming, why not spam physick like you would cure 1? This guide is amazing btw, I never knew what the optimal rotation was for dps!
Through an design & layout accessibility standpoint, I thank you so much for splitting text into two column. It's way easier to read text that way as it lets the eyes rest with more white space.
Telling SCH not to use Physick is pretty bad advice.
Why do you think so? If you're in cleric stance for the majority of the fight MP will not be an issue. If MP isn't an issue why should you use physick? It's like you're telling me to use ruin over broil because it's more MP efficient.
With 12000 MP:
If you only broil for 60 seconds: 530 MP x 24 casts = 12720 MP
40% natural regen in 60 seconds + 20% from aetherflow
884 from energy drain x3 = 2652 MP
Total MP regen per minute = 9852
Your net MP loss per minute is 2868 with broil only. Using dots will reduce this further.
bio II = broil MP (no difference)
at least 3x bio -> (530-353)x3 = 531 MP saved per minute
at least 2x miasma -> (530-442)x3 = 176 MP saved per minute
at least 3x aero -> (530-353)x2 = 531 MP saved per minute
2 shadowflare -> (530-707)x2 = 354 more MP used per minute
net total is 884 MP saved per minute
so per minute you lose about 1984 MP. This will last you around 6 minutes of nonstop DPS (slightly longer because you start with 3 stacks). Most fights have downtime so you will use even less MP.
If you are sustained healing you should use physick. But forcing two healers to sustain heal is very rare. You can think of it as losing about 1 DPS each time you heal. Using high potency spells will reduce the frequency of you healing and therefore increase your damage output.
Please never tell anyone to not use Physick... Physick is a fantastic skill and should be your bread and butter.Don't get me wrong, I love Adlo as much as the next guy, but exclusively using it is a very bad idea.
Hi! Awesome guide! I was wondering when you recommend weaving in off gcd abilities like a mind potion or aetherflow and energy drain, for example is it better to wait for an instant cast spell to cycle them in or is that a dps loss?
I like the guide, except, I disagree with the Physick vs Adlo part. They both are useful, depending on encounter/phase/mana/stacks and if the player is already shielded. If I put an Adlo on a player and they still need healing, thats when you want to cast Physick. Or, if they need a bit more healing than Adlo, and there's no anticipated incoming damage in the next 30 seconds, Physick is your better choice (higher potency for recovered health, and more mana efficient).
Sometimes its more important for big heals, sometimes for damage mitigation, sometimes for mana efficiency. Obviously I would like to squeeze out as much dps as possible, but our main purposes is to keep everyone alive during the encounter. If a couple of Boils is what makes or breaks a fight, then the DPS probabaly isnt quite up to snuff.
