Except not Tuesday because they're splitting 3.05 into 2 updates, and they're adding red scrips later in the week. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...6661f835a16de5
Here's a guess ...
Collectible items on new nodes. Or on Folklore nodes.
The new foods and gear allow you to hit 700 GP, I wouldn't call that pointless.
Depends on what you're after. Being able to combine Unearth II and Kings Yield I is pretty nifty - and for FSH it gives more leeway for hooksets after using Patience II, given the short time windows for some collectable fish.
im skeptical red stuff is gonna be that great... more than likely gonna be unmeldable like blue scrip set is
So is it worth overmelding the actuall bis gear for crafters and gatherers or should I just get this gear in hq and wait for red scrips gear and overmeld this?
At this point I plan on using my old 2.x BiS right side jewelry. I'm at 582 GP, easily reaching 600 with cheap GP food. And I don't want to have to meld Gathering/Perception onto the new jewelry only to have it replaced in less than a week.
That said, like an above poster, I doubt that the RGS (or RCS for that matter) gear is going to be capable of melding. I expect there to be new crafted gear that is slightly better than the red scrip stuff, and meld-able for even better stats.
We don't know that there will be new jewelry in a week, unlikely I would say.
Also not sure we can expect gear from red scrips but things different to materia instead.
there is the level 60 class specific gear which i think will be from red scrips

Took a loooooooooong time before they released green belts and accessories in 2.0. Might be the same in 3.0, so say a patch or 2 in before we get better accessories. I'm thinking that the new class sets are still crafted but you buy some of the required mats with red scrips. And yes, unless the class-specific sets are significantly better than the current L60 set, I might not be upgrading to it due to inv space issues.
