Will there be a more noticeable effect on how strength, intelligence, dexterity, and piety have on their respective stats?
As it is now, they have a negligible effect, especially in INT's case where the difference of 15INT and 140Int only increasesthe power of a Nuke by a few points of damage. Even worse. Many Tier 2 spells are useless, and doing lessdamage than their tier 1 counterparts, not to mention the utterly useless Ancient Magic...
So yeah, now that stats are automated, will stats matter? Or will Mages be stuck as curebots or DoT guys til 1.21?

But it's not because they are automated, but because they are class-specific.
It also has very little to do with the effectiveness of nukes versus other forms of damage. -

INT and PIE having a larger effect does not automatically mean that nukes will suddenly become more useful just because the stats will.

They will have a greater effect not so much because they are being automated, but because in 1.19 all of the battle algorithms are being rewritten to put a bigger emphasis on stats and less of an emphasis on class level.

I want to know if nukes and cures from non magic classes will be nerfed and/or if such spells will get boosted for magic classes. Plus, could a non magic class equip all INT PIE materia and boost up their nuke cure potential? If so, could make Gladiators with healing sets, make a rugged healer!

09-30-2011, 06:32 AMKonachibiI think when you switch to GLA you basically lose all but a small amount of your INT and PIE stats bar a few points, so you'll have enough to use for MP based attacks but throwing out cures would just chew through your MP pool in a matter of seconds.Quote:

They did say they were going to remove the slot cost, but also reduce the number of accessories to balance it out. I don't think it was 1.9
Also are the stats not suppose to be only temporarily automated? I thought that at 1.20 they make it so you assign points for every class and it remembers the points and your actions... -

Right now physical stats have to be as bland and impotent as they are due to the physical level. With its removal they were free to make the points count. Now I do expect there to be some sticker shock come the update when at l50 our stats are lower then we are use to seeing. But hey those threads should be comical to read. -
