SE needs to re think stuff

Lately i can't get into my own home Since somehow my towns full? always a round 3pm or so no one can get into there homes why? well there's to many players troll. We have lil space to put our gear and goods why? there's to many players {and that's not really the case the truth? we need more server space} so SE plan add more game content:rolleyes: really? this game needs a rest from content start fixing bugs classes and our space prob plz

It's nothing too major SE needs to think about since if it's just you and SE dose Fix bugs. Just gotta be patience, it's so much easier to say "Fix this" but actually fixing it may take some time as you need to figure out how to fix it 1st. Server space, yeah they can just pluck server space out there fat chocobo's just like that.

Friends of mine have been having a similar issue. Not sure what time of day but they've been unable to get into the house, or out of it if they were already in. Saying something like "the area is too congested".

"Due to server congestion, you are unable to leave this area."

Takes about 10 tries to get from room to room during the busy hours.

Sadly the issue is, the closed new character thing isn't preventing Balmung from getting more transference to the server. We're at the breaking point where we run into continual congestion problems at peak hours. I'm guessing regarding it is on the itinerary, but considering there's an EU datacenter in construction, that's taking a bit of the workflow away form it all.

There is also the problem with housing. No FC with a house is going to transfer off server. Fewer FCs without houses are going to transfer because of the Gil Limit and the desire to get a house. SE has to address these first, otherwise offering transfers off of Balmung will fall mostly on deaf ears.

I don't believe Square need to do anything, people need to stop flocking to Balmung like its The Garden of Eden.

Unfortunately, this is a balmung issue due to it's huge popularity. And yes, S-E should eventually fix this but the playerbase is also to blame for mass gathering on one specific server. (Doesn't also help that Gilgamesh also is on the same data center and has a lot of people)

But honestly though, I've played on different servers in the past. Mostly because of rl friends joining ffxiv later and refusing to join me on balmung. And I have to say that Balmung community is great lol. (There's obviously the usual bad apples)
I found the other servers to be so boring. Nobody, talking in say or shout from time to time. Empty city states.

The benefit of being on a rp server, is that every location has people. Making the game feel more alive.

I think this is also due to the RP heavy nature of Balmung. Many RPs take place inside the houses, whereas on other servers, the house is only a place we go to once or twice a day (to buy things from our vendors, put stuff in company chest, maybe send our airship off on a voyage, etc.) 90% of the time we're out doing things in the open world, and when you go into a dungeon, it boots you out of the housing instance anyway.

Look at it this way, around the time of 3.1, all the EU servers will be moved from Canada to Europe, that'll free up lots of resources for SE to use on NA servers. Though odds are they will just shut down the spare capacity they get, but you can hope.

It'll free up the physical servers, but they'll have to do a lot of data center reconfiguration in order to take advantage of it. What may happen is that they add a third NA "data center" using the previous EU server equipment, and split up Aether and Primal such that Gilgamesh is on its own data center, separate from Balmung.

It isn't an issue of server space but a networking issue--they restrict connections to try to prevent congestive failure. That is why the messages reference an issue with congestion.
