When you use Deployment Tactics?

Hello, I just want to know when you guys using Deployment Tactics? Because I usually use it before entering sub boss and boss. Thanks :)

I'd also like to know. I've tried using it before, but i don't really get the concept of it

I try to save it for when I think Eye for an Eye will be useful for the tank, melee, and nearby party members.
I also generally use it on the tank that has most of the DPS-party members with them on a monster.

Also I use it when on The Aery when the boss gonna damage people after adds. Still wonder any moment that need to use Deployment Tactics other than that.

Before (or sometimes after) boss uses its ult skill that requires party members to stack up.

I use to Adlo and Eye for an Eye to Fairy then position her to reach everyone when I use Deployment Tactics.
Sometimes I use Deployment Tactics to WAR (if there is one) because they take our Adlo better than any other jobs.

It's a good spell to prevent overhealing (sometimes Succor is overrated) and bigger shield (than Succor) before boss uses its ult.

I just use it for Adloquiums in general. I see very little relevance for using it to spread Eye for an Eye unless it aligns well with an add-spawn and said add spawning at such a time wherein you have not lost a good chunk of E4E uptime until then anyway, in having held out your E4E for that Deployment Tactics cast. (I.e. it would work nicely in T7-like situations for the OT, what with the first adds spawning, as they hit hard and don't die fast, with your raid not needing mitigation over time too much, barring for some fireballs).

So basically, if your OT benefits of an Adloquium+E4E more than the full raid does of mitigation for the next 2 minutes - then go for it, but otherwise, no, and save it for a raid-wide shield. (Triple-dipping so that all those conditions are met is possible too, like, say, p1 to p2 transition in T13).

In essence, if not for the aforementioned OT-prepping, you should treat DT as something with which to mitigate better than you would with Soil and also for omitting an AOE-heal altogether where you would normally have to heal or where you'd have your partner heal (except for very big bangs, but at least it is great mitigation then).

Ideally, you're anchoring your DT off of your fairy. It is too risky (most of the time) to heal up your MT and then trying to land that DT before they take any subsequent damage (thus crippling the shield). There is also the fact that you and you alone control your fairy - you know where it will be and you can eyeball the 10y radius perfectly. Casting it on some random player who is stacked up fine is okay, but you will always be taking a risk.

Thus, if you are a SCH who is very raid-aware and fairy-aware, you will have no troubles nailing your fairy placement and even re-placing for situational quirks such as the perfect DT Adloquium, wherein your MT and the whole raid get the shield on them.

As to when you should be using it: barring the OT-prepping - any time where you know AOE damage of enough significance is coming up, but still making it so that you don't essentially blow the cooldown on something less significant, meaning you will not have DT up when you actually need it more. Knowing the fight's specs and your co-healer's habits (in 8-mans) will help immensely, as you can lay out a "DT-rotation" in a similar way you would map out Virus usage throughout an encounter. An encounter can have multiple different phases and the usage can vary, though.

It's very situational and depends on the encounter, but ideally you will want to max out effective uses over the time of an encounter, whether for raid-wide mitigation or for OT-prepping.

Quite situational and hard to use. As for Alexander there are a few times where I like to use it. For example A1 - boss readies to jump up, cast Adlo on tank/WAR and throw E4E while running to the safespot placing sacred soil. Then deploy the buffs and giggle :p (especially if it crit).

A2 - this is a fun one, sometimes a dps or the fairy stands quite conveniently to spread the buffs to both tanks. Spreading E4E here is super nice

A3 - right before his cascade (cause that thing hurts a lot) also good for spreading E4E during his double slap phase...

Or another example, A4 - after the legs are killed, people usually rush under the boss , cast both buffs on tank/WAR or whoever is placed the best and deploy away.

It's a fun spell to use really.

I use it in Ravana ex 2 times:
- during add phase, during "stomps"
- before Swift Liberation

in Alexander t3: during the splash/before cascade
in Alexander t4: during the phase-switch

It makes sense to use before pull in some situations.

For example, Bismark EX... everyone is gonna get damaged/stunned as soon as fight starts.

For better results, put it on a WAR with defiance. For even better results, ask the WAR to use Convalescence and Mantra. That's roughly a 50% more potent adloq (or almost 65% if you have a MNK applying Mantra) that you can spread to everyone in the party, and they will still have the galvanize effect after the initial damage. The stoneskins in everybody remains untouched.
Both healers can pretty much just DPS on the first set of adds, very little healing needed.

For Ravana EX it really helps on last phase stomps. At this time Ravana has 5+ stacks of damage up buff, so everything hurts a lot.
Although WAR OT will not have defiance on usually at that point, so you can just Adloq whomever, maybe the PLD if he has Convalescene up for a 30% increased potency of the galvanize effect.

One other use (not the main intent of the spell but no point in not doing it) is for the first time we have a way to cast Eye for an Eye on ourselves when solo'ing :D. If I'm on Scholar instead of Summoner and going after my rank 3 hunt marks or something, I'll cast Adlo and then Eye for Eye on the fairy, deploy it to me, and then attack. I usually place Eos/Selene off to the side so they don't take unnecessary damage so it's more useful having E4E up on me vs them anyway.

I use it at the start of the fight, and then whenever the group is gathered together.

Such as on fights like Alexander 4, I put Eos/Selene in the middle of the room, and Deployment Tactics on her. So the spread hits everyone even though I'm far from those groups of people.

Using Deployment Tactics on your fairy when shes close to melee/tanks is an awesome way to get that cover in without needing to run in and succor o/

Ravana EX during adds, and before swift liberation are textbook uses for the skill. Alexander 4 where DPS has to handle adds is perfect as well. I always E4E and Adlo Selene and pass it off to the party that way since we control where our faries are placed!

Very rarely will I hit the tank with the adlo/E4E for deployment unless I want to pass it to just the OT next to them as well.
