Duty finder does not work for dps

This is not an exaggeration. I have been waiting almost 3hrs per dungeon/raid and still no group. This alone makes doing the main story nearly impossible. I shouldn't have to ask for someone in my FC every 30min-50min for someone to tank because the repeated amount of quests that keep requiring me to que into a dungeon/raid. They are already doing heavensward it's not okay to repeatedly ask them to help me with something that I should be able to que into alone within 40min to 1hr at most. Something needs to be done.

The main issue is that Trial Roulette is not incentivized enough for most people to put up with doing it every day. I rarely have an issue with it, but I know a lot of people don't queue for it out of fear of getting trials like Chrysalis, Steps of Faith (even though it's been hilariously nerfed), or any of the new Primals.

I personally think the 2.0 Hard Primals should get brought down to a 4-man size and be added in as part of LLDR.

When/what are you queuing for?
I queue as DPS mostly... and that's even on the off-hours of my server/data center (the EU datacenter but I'm in the US so it's early morning over there when I play)
HW areas are much quicker at the moment, but even when I'm doing roulettes or helping a friend (as DPS because I'm lazy most of the time, don't wanna heal or tank) we don't have to wait that long. I think longest was for Shiva HM at an hour... to be fair it was maybe 2am where I am so, not many people on.

I think maybe you need to play more MMO's and figure out this is how it is in all of them because everyone wants to be DPS. There are just loads more DPS to go around and less Tanks and Healers so it naturally takes longer. Somewhat surprising though since people have been levelling new classes. I guess that boom has died down some.

I am attempting to get into a group for Chrysalis as I'm typing this. But like the others, I am watching healers, tanks, and dps leave and join left and right. I really like the story, I know I'm near the end of ARR but I'm getting ready to simply drop the game. Right now the que is at 144min, which is over 2hrs. I don't know how much longer I can take this honestly. I don't want my FC to feel like I am using them, but that's probably what it looks like when you ask for a tank like twice a day.

The complaint that DPS queues take longer than other queues is only tangentially related to this. The main complaint is that pre-HW trials that are necessary for advancing the MSQ are still tied in with Trial Roulette, which doesn't provide enough of an incentive for people to bother with it, especially since there's only a chance of you getting placed in a pre-HW trial in the first place.

My suggestions would be for SE to do one or more of:

1) Increasing the individual rewards for Trial Roulette to encourage more participation.

2) Reduce the player requirements for pre-HW MSQ-necessary trials to 4 players.

3) Fit the pre-HW MSQ-necessary trials into LLDR.

4) Configure Trial Roulette so that undersized parties with level 50+ players can be formed. (This may cause issues with Leviathan, however.)

Adrasteia, I like those suggestions.

Trial roulette gives 60 law at level 60. I run it for it but many skip it for some reason. It's far shorter than running neverreap, fractal, or research facility for 40 law. I am slightly traumatized from an early on trial roulette Ravana with 2BRD and 2MCH before fixes but we did ultimately clear it 4th attempt in.. Barely.

Hasn't deterred me from roulette have though.
Real problem is a lot of folks have lawed out their Mains and aren't considering alts.

As long as I'm leveling I'm gathering law for when they hit 60

Going to be honest I think it was a bad idea for SE to keep the level 50 story quest the way it was. I think they should have condensed the story as much as possible so players can get right to HW. IMO I think forcing players to run Chrysalis and other outdated content to get further in to the story was a bad call. I had a blast when 2.55 came out but that was months ago and is no longer relevant because most players are now focused on HW.

I also think they should just give all players who hit lvl 50 a i110 version of the relic weapon at the completion of the pre 3.0 lvl 50 job quest so they can remove the i80 - i110 relic quests. Its taking up space and is no longer worth doing at this point. If the players choose to level up the relic further for vanity purposes then that's ok but other than that its pointless and simply taking up valuable space for new quests and content.

Iv come to similar conclusions about this as well. By the time someone gets to lv 50 they would have completed the Ultima Weapon raid, which by then is a large part of the game anyhow. But I can understand they wanted people to really dive into the story. I just don't think so much of the MSQ is needed, a lot of it after the Ultima Raid felt like fillers until it started focusing primarly on ascians and the dragons that are planning to destroy Ishgard but that's near the end of ARR. But that's just my opinion.

My que time is now 190min. I think it speaks for itself lol.

I cant understand why people dont run trial rollete, even when i have little time to play my priority is always the daily on trial roullete, all fights are fun, really good music. And i always explain fights when the bonus appear, crystalis and ravana is really easy once you get it

My trial roulette almost never gives me the old stuff anymore.

yesterday I got HM Garuda out of a fluke, usually I get Ravana or Bismarck.

Do you have all languages checked? That tends to drop the wait time considerably, since you're opening yourself to playing with everybody. Trust me, it takes it from 1 hour+ wait time down to around 30 minutes.

This. But some raids are known to be hard to get into regardless.

OP a good method I think, is to queue in during a reset. It's a good chance you'll get a group faster because your selected dungeon/raid ends up as their roulette. As DPS, I run trial roulette everyday when reset hits.

Can't speak for High level rol right now, but an hour ago I got into a low level rol, as a lvl 26 THM, in less then 10 minutes. And I'm pretty sure most of the server pop is asleep so thats some pretty good timing. Only done High level and Trial on DRK/WHM so far which would of course be easier to get in that way. Sometimes the Duty Finder does seem to bug out though.

We'll very much doubt putting the trials into low level roulette would help. I at least do trial roulette for the bonus, but if I don't need tomes, which I don't at the moment, I don't do low level roulette.

Apparently, ANY trial or dungeon that contains seemingly complex mechanics scare people away. Chrysalis just has the all familiar "Xande drops meteors"-esque phase which isn't too hard..

If you're queuing that long then open a support ticket or something. I'm a healer so zero queue, but my first classes were BLM and BRD when I first started playing about 7 months ago and I'd never wait longer than maybe 25 minutes back then. Only time it would be longer were the more useless ones like Ultima sometimes would be 40 mins. I'm trying to do my SCH so leveling ACN to 30 and been doing low level dungeons and I'd say 10 minutes is typical, maybe 15 or so definitely much faster than it was before. I've never queued longer than an hour EVER, on N/A server here.

My longest is 51 minutes. Ramuh EX. I'm not too bothered by that. There is a GOOD reason people don't queue for that often.

As a BRD, I've never queued for more than 90 minutes in my nearly two years of playing FFXIV, even when I did it during off hours. I'm also on what I understand to be a fairly low pop server (comparatively).

If the OP is consistently queuing for 3 hours+, I think that indicates there's likely something wrong on his/her end. Might want to have SE check that out.

Easy fix for this would be to include centurio seals as the reward for daily trial roulette. Give 80 Law tomes, 50 centurio seals and add RNG minions, craft materials, glamour prisms and very rare pastel or metallic dyes to the loot. Those will make sure everyone will at least do ONE trial roulette.

A secondary fix would be to fix hunts. Let me explain the correlation:

1 - it is easy to get enough Laws to now, so you need more seals to upgrade items than more laws
2 - solution: skip roulettes that are the most annoying, and HUNT HUNT HUNT as that is the best path to upgrade
3 - if you are hunting, you MUST be in a group to get credit with how fast things die due to no scaling
4 - if you are in a group, or join one, you are dropped from roulette anyway

Now if the harder to get past steps for new players gave seals, you'd have an easier time getting interest. Most players need seals now more than tomes.
