So has SE commented on the dungeon drops?

Like how they for some reason have a chance of showing in EVERY loot chest. Nothing like running Aery for this nice Tank chest piece only to have to deal with seeing the same ring of aiming take the slot of almost all the loot chest :mad:. I was wondering if this was intended or something they plan on changing:confused:

To be fair, it's not quite "everything in every chest". The game seems to use certain pools that the chests still draw from; it's just that there's now multiple pulls from each pool over the course of a dungeon (You can expect a weapon to drop from the chest before the final boss and one from the final boss, but you won't see them before then).

As for "but I'm not seeing the stuff relevant to my class", welcome to RNG. Whatever combination you have seen drop so far is exactly the same odds as any other combination that could possibly occur, because the game does not give a crap about what dropped before.

the loot on the arey is special tough. while i saw lots of different drops on all other 4 dungeons the arey seems to be stuck on mnk/drg loot 80% of the time you run it and the weapon RNG for me was stuck on this : AST AST AST PLD PLD BRD AST AST AST PLD BRD AST. yes i keept track of it. you can say what you want but what we have here at work is not pure rng its WEIGHTNED rng. this means certains items have a % chance to drop and some of em are far higher than others to appear. thats not really random its just plain crap.

tough the rng seems to be fine on all other dungeons below 60. and even the 60 ones seems to be fine. but the aery definitly is bugged or not working probaly. also the same item shouldnt drop twice on the same run. thats plain stupid.

No, that's pure RNG. AST AST AST PLD PLD BRD AST AST AST PLD BRD AST is exactly the same % chance to happen as any other series of drops you could possibly invent. It might "look" more random if every different job was represented, but you know what? Exact same miniscule chance of happening.

Really, the loot is random. It just sucks. What we're feeling is the ticking of the clock and the desire to have our gear ASAP, not a weighted loot system.

If you're confused, know this: Ever piece of loot has the same chance of dropping at any single drop, and the chances are "reset" after each pull. Just because an item was dropped once doesn't mean that the chances of the next drop have changed from the first time.

That being said, the past 5 EX dungeons runs haven't dropped a single healer piece for me. That's life.

Tell that to the 2 pairs of boots and 3 pairs of necklaces (oh and 2 pairs of rings) all the same type i won in a single run. <3
Its pretty useful for my desynthing skill level tho..

If I kept track of what dropped on my BRD, Leviathan had an RNG weighted in favor of Codices and against Bows. If I kept track on my SCH, though, it was weighted against Codices and a bit more likely to drop Bows.

Or, y'know, it's evenly distributed RNG and you're just getting a funny string.

Remember folks: RNG will always drop the piece of gear for the class you won't be playing for a while, unless you somehow appease it before going into the dungeon/trial: THe way to appease it is, of course, always random.

yes. because never seeing your desired piece drop is a FUNNY STRING. NOT. its plain KILLING the fun after awhile. atleast the new ex modes have a system to counter bad RNG now and hopefully savage has a good one aswell with its tokens. atleast they got that point that thier rng is crazy over the top on weekly blocked content.

Funny odd, not funny haha.

Ive seen ONE DRK sword drop in the whole expansion so far. And now when i actually play DRK through the dungeons, all i ever get is accesories, and mostly its for healers. RNG is insane, never had such huge problems as my DRG.

Yes and no.

Granted, humans are terribly equipped to calculate probabilities and propensities on the fly...

But gear in the new dungeons is pretty terrible, mostly due to just how much of it there is.

7 different sets of gear with 5 different pieces, and then another 5 sets of accessories with 4 different pieces and then another 11 weapons, any one dungeon from dusk vigil on has 66 possible items that we can get, not counting dye and prisms from the goober chests.

With three chests per dungeon that are guaranteed gear drops, trying to get a full set of dungeon gear is a nightmare.

Add in the facts that dungeon gear this time around is immediately outclassed by hq crafted gear the very next level which is in turn outclassed by the next set of dungeon gear the whole system is a mess.

To be perfectly honest, this was incredibly poorly implemented. Especially compared to how the leveling dungeons in ARR treated gear.

So because the game tries to help you through bad RNG by throwing HQ gear pieces as quest rewards, it's a bad system?

I still run for the skydruid set. Doesn't want to drop.

Am I complaining? No, I keep running it.

Who said anything about quest rewards? I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make, your comment implies that you agree that the rng from dungeon drops is ludicrous.

My comment about crafted gear referred more to the absolutely ridiculous amount of inventory bloat created in this expansion, I said nothing whatsoever about the gear we get from quest rewards.
